The Contenders: A Brief Overview

Hammocks

Hammocks are the epitome of laid-back camping.

They’re lightweight, compact, and offer a unique sleeping experience that keeps you off the ground and swaying gently between trees.

But don’t be fooled by their relaxed demeanor—hammocks can be a serious contender for your camping and survival gear.

Tents

Tents are the classic choice for campers worldwide.

They’ve been around for centuries, evolving from basic shelters to high-tech engineering marvels.

Tents offer a familiar and reliable way to stay protected from the elements, with plenty of room to stretch out and store your gear.

Comfort: Rest Easy or Toss and Turn?

When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep in the great outdoors, comfort is king.

Let’s see how hammocks and tents stack up.

Hammocks: Cradle of Comfort

Hammocks are like a cozy cocoon that cradles you in comfort.

The gentle sway can lull you to sleep faster than a lullaby.

Plus, you avoid the hard, uneven ground and any creepy crawlies that might be lurking.

However, getting the perfect hang angle and finding the right trees can be a bit of a challenge.

And if you’re a side or stomach sleeper, you might find a hammock a bit restrictive.

Tents: Home Away from Home

Tents provide a flat, stable surface to sleep on, which is great for side, back, and stomach sleepers alike.

With a good sleeping pad and bag, you can achieve a level of comfort that’s hard to beat.

Tents also offer more room to move around and store your gear, making them feel like a cozy little home in the wilderness.

However, you’re still dealing with the hard ground and the potential for a less-than-perfectly-flat campsite.

Weather Protection: Battling the Elements

Mother Nature can be unpredictable, so your shelter needs to stand up to whatever she throws your way.

Hammocks: High and Dry

One of the biggest advantages of hammocks is that they keep you off the ground.

This means you won’t have to worry about rain pooling under your tent or waking up to a flooded floor.

With a proper rain fly, hammocks can keep you dry in most conditions.

However, in extreme weather, like high winds or heavy snow, hammocks can be less stable and offer less protection than tents.

Tents: Fortresses of Fabric

Tents are designed to be all-weather shelters.

With a good rainfly and proper setup, tents can handle rain, wind, and even snow.

They offer more protection from the elements, especially in extreme conditions.

The solid walls also provide a barrier against cold winds and help retain warmth. However, tents require more effort to keep dry and ventilated, especially in wet conditions.

Setup and Portability: Quick and Easy or a Chore?

Nobody wants to spend hours setting up camp, especially after a long day on the trail.

Let’s see which option makes setting up camp a breeze.

Hammocks: Quick and Lightweight

Hammocks are a breeze to set up—once you get the hang of it (pun intended).

With practice, you can have your hammock and rain fly up in minutes.

They’re incredibly lightweight and pack down small, making them perfect for backpackers and ultralight hikers.

The downside is that you need trees (or something sturdy) to hang your hammock, which isn’t always available.

Tents: Versatile but Bulky

Tents can take a bit longer to set up, especially if you’re dealing with poles, stakes, and rainflies.

But once they’re up, they’re a reliable shelter that doesn’t depend on trees or other anchor points.

Tents offer more versatility in where you can set up camp, but they tend to be bulkier and heavier than hammocks.

This makes them less ideal for ultralight backpacking but great for car camping or short hikes.

Space and Storage: Room to Roam or Cozy and Compact?

Whether you like to spread out or keep things minimal, space is a crucial factor in choosing your shelter.

Hammocks: Cozy and Compact

Hammocks are designed for one person (though double hammocks are available), and they don’t offer much room for gear storage.

You’ll need to get creative with your packing and use gear slings or hang your backpack from a tree.

This minimalistic approach is great for those who like to travel light and keep things simple.

However, if you like having space to move around or keep your gear close, hammocks might feel a bit cramped.

Tents: Spacious and Secure

Tents come in a variety of sizes, from solo shelters to multi-person palaces.

They offer plenty of room to move around and store your gear, keeping everything dry and secure.

The extra space can make a big difference in comfort, especially on longer trips.

The downside is that all this extra room comes at a cost in terms of weight and bulk.

Versatility: Multi-Use Marvels

Versatility is key when it comes to survival gear.

Let’s see how hammocks and tents can pull double duty.

Hammocks: More Than Just a Bed

Hammocks can be incredibly versatile.

Besides being a great place to sleep, they can also serve as a chair, lounger, or even a makeshift stretcher in an emergency.

Some hammock setups can be converted into ground shelters if needed.

However, their primary function is as a sleeping system, so their versatility is somewhat limited compared to a tent.

Tents: Shelter Supreme

Tents are the ultimate multi-use shelters.

Besides providing a place to sleep, they can serve as a changing room, gear storage, and a refuge from bugs and weather.

In an emergency, a tent can be used as a signal (bright colors), a rainwater collector (with the rainfly), or even a makeshift raft (in extreme cases).

Their versatility and reliability make them a staple in any survival kit.

Cost: Budget-Friendly or Investment?

When it comes to camping gear, you often get what you pay for.

Let’s talk about the cost of hammocks vs. tents.

Hammocks: Budget-Friendly

Hammocks can be a more budget-friendly option, especially for solo campers.

You can get a decent hammock setup for less than a comparable tent.

However, you’ll also need to consider the cost of additional gear like a rain fly, bug net, and underquilt (for colder weather).

Overall, hammocks can be a great option for those looking to save money and pack light.

Tents: Investment in Comfort

Tents tend to be more expensive, especially high-quality models.

But this investment pays off in terms of comfort, space, and protection from the elements.

If you’re serious about camping or survival, a good tent is worth every penny.

Plus, tents are more versatile and can accommodate multiple people, making them a better value for group camping.

The Verdict: Which is Best for You?

Alright, folks, it’s decision time.

Both hammocks and tents have their strengths and weaknesses, and the best choice depends on your specific needs and preferences.

Choose a Hammock If:

  • You prioritize lightweight and compact gear.
  • You enjoy a unique sleeping experience and don’t mind a bit of a learning curve.
  • You often camp in areas with plenty of trees.

Choose a Tent If:

  • You want maximum protection from the elements.
  • You need more space and storage for gear.
  • You prefer a versatile shelter that can handle a variety of conditions.

My Personal Take

Personally, I think there’s a place for both hammocks and tents in your camping arsenal.

Hammocks are fantastic for short trips, ultralight backpacking, and summer camping.

They’re a blast to use and add a bit of fun to your camping experience.

Tents, on the other hand, are the go-to choice for longer trips, group camping, and harsher conditions.

They offer the comfort, space, and protection you need when the going gets tough.

So why not have both?

That way, you’ll be prepared for any adventure that comes your way.

Just remember, the best shelter is the one you have with you when you need it.

So pick the one that fits your style, pack it up, and get out there!

The “Comet Of The Century” Is Here! Has God Put It There To Be A “Sign In The Heavens”?

Is it just a coincidence that the “Comet of the Century” has appeared just as all-out war is about to erupt in the Middle East and a presidential election that has the potential to change life in America forever is about to be decided?  Perhaps you do think that it is just a coincidence, and you are certainly entitled to that opinion.  But my personal opinion is that it is not a coincidence that this comet has appeared at this specific moment in history.  In this article, I am going to share some truly remarkable things that I have discovered about this comet, and that will include some things that I did not learn until today.

In Genesis 1:14, the Bible specifically tells us that one of the reasons why God created the lights in the heavens was because He intended to use them as “signs”…

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years

And in Luke chapter 21, Jesus warned us that there would be “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars” in the days prior to His return.

So anyone that attempts to claim that events in the heavens never have any meaning is directly contradicting the Bible.

All throughout human history, there have been important signs in the heavens.

And now the “Comet of the Century” is here.

This comet’s official designation is “comet C/2023 A3”, but it is also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, and right now people all over the Internet are talking about it

Unless you’ve been on a hiking holiday in Outer Mongolia for the past year you’ve probably heard that there’s going to be a “bright comet” in the sky next month. It’s everywhere!

It’s called comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS), and you’re likely to be hearing a lot about it over the coming weeks.

Already you can’t go on social media without seeing half a dozen news stories announcing “the comet of the century is coming!” illustrated with an AI-generated graphic showing a brilliant ball of light with a glowing tail stretched out behind it.

The reason why the comet’s official designation has “2023” in it is because it was originally discovered in early 2023

As always, the name of the comet itself reveals important details about it, its official name is C/2023 A3 and proceeding in order the letter C indicates that it is a non-periodic comet, the number 2023 that was discovered in 2023, the letter A that its first observation took place in the first half of January and finally the number 3 indicates that it was the third object discovered in that same period. In reality, however, the official confirmation of the discovery of this comet took place on February 22, 2023.

We have now reached the time when it will start to become visible in the sky in the northern hemisphere, and that is very exciting.

According to an article that was posted by Wired, it was being projected that the date when the comet would shine the brightest would be October 2nd…

C/2023 A3 will shine in the northern hemisphere sky from September 27 and will remain visible until the last week of October. During this period, the comet will reach its minimum distance from the sun, before beginning its journey back out of the solar system.

According to the specialized blog Cometography, the day when C/2023 A3 will shine the brightest will be October 2. The comet’s tail will be long and spectacular at this point due to its proximity to the sun.

As I discussed in a previous article, Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on October 2nd.

In addition, there will also be a “ring of fire” solar eclipse on October 2nd.

So on Rosh Hashanah the “Comet of the Century” will be the brightest at the exact same time that a spectacular “ring of fire” eclipse is appearing in the sky.

    That is quite a “coincidence”.

There will only be two solar eclipses during 2024.

The first was the Great American Eclipse on April 8th, and the second will be the “ring of fire” eclipse on October 2nd.

The “ring of fire” eclipse will only be visible for a very short time, but the “Comet of the Century” will continue to be visible throughout much of October.

On October 9th and 10th, the comet will “pass almost directly between Earth and the Sun”

Thanks to pure good fortune, comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) will then pass almost directly between Earth and the Sun on October 9 and 10.

This could cause a spectacular brightening of the comet, thanks to “forward scattering” caused by its dust. Imagine looking towards a bright light source through a cloud of dust grains. The grains nearest to the light source will scatter light from the source back towards you.

If conditions are just right, and right now we don’t know if that will be the case or not, there is a possibility that this comet could actually become visible during daylight hours for a short period of time

As the comet swings between Earth and the Sun, it will be perfectly placed for this forward scattering process to occur. If the comet is particularly dusty, this could cause its apparent brightness to increase by up to 100 times.

If it does, there’s a small chance the comet could briefly become visible in the daylight sky on October 9 and 10.

We won’t know for sure if this will actually happen until then, but if it does happen it will make news all over the globe.

Subsequently, “the Comet of the Century” will come closest to our planet on October 12th

By the time C/2023 A3 passes closest to Earth on Oct. 12, skywatchers can find it in the evening sky, shortly after sunset.

It turns out that Yom Kippur just happens to fall on October 12th this year.

    That’s right.

The “Comet of the Century” will be closest to Earth on one of the most important days on God’s prophetic calendar.

But I suppose that is just a “coincidence” too.

We are being told that the comet will appear to “rapidly climb in the western sky” and will become “a bright, naked-eye object for a few days” starting on Yom Kippur…

After swinging between Earth and the Sun, the comet will appear in the evening sky. It will rapidly climb in the western sky, and should be a bright, naked-eye object for a few days from October 12. The sliders below will give you a sense of where to look.

For the first few days of this period, the comet will still benefit from the forward scattering of sunlight, but this will decrease as it moves away.

Could this comet be a sign of war?

We are so close to the unthinkable, and it appears that there will be no turning back now.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has announced that his nation “will continue to fight against the Hezbollah terrorist organization with all our strength until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes.”

That means that all-out war is coming.

And as I write this article we are only about 40 days away from the most pivotal presidential election in any of our lifetimes.

At this point, everyone should be able to see that we are entering a period of extreme chaos.

But a lot of people out there have not wanted to listen to any of the warnings, and they certainly are not interested in any signs in the sky.

That is extremely unfortunate, because none of us will be able to avoid what is soon coming upon this planet.

The Stage Is Being Set For The Greatest Period Of Chaos In U.S. History

If chaos is what they intended, everything is coming together beautifully.  Major wars threaten to throw the entire planet into a state of turmoil, criminals are running wild in our streets, and in a little over a month the outcome of the presidential election is likely to cause an unprecedented explosion of anger.  If all of this wasn’t bad enough, our politicians have been allowing millions of desperate people to come pouring over our wide open borders.  Some of these “new arrivals” belong to international criminal gangs, and members of these gangs are being arrested for violent acts, theft, drug dealing and sex trafficking all over America.  Other “new arrivals” belong to terror groups in the Middle East, and you would think that this would be a major national security concern.  Russians have also been crossing the border illegally, as have very large numbers of military-age Chinese men.  The stage is being set for the greatest period of chaos in U.S. history, and this should deeply alarm all of us.

Since Joe Biden has been in the White House, we have witnessed a spike in migration that is absolutely unprecedented in our history.

Millions of people have been allowed in, and once they get into this country they can go wherever they want.

Most of them have come in through the southern border, but what most people don’t realize is that migration over the northern border is also wildly out of control

There has been growing attention from northern-state lawmakers in recent years over increased attempted illegal border crossings as migration from Latin America grows due to economic and political conditions.

In 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection encountered almost 190,000 individuals attempting to cross from Canada to the United States. That’s almost seven times more than in 2021.

Unfortunately, the number of people coming in through the northern border has just continued to rise in 2024

This year, the number of illegal crossings along the northern border is hitting record levels, and northern New York, with its proximity to Montreal and Toronto, is the epicenter of the influx. In August alone, the Border Patrol reported 19,000 migrant encounters along the border with Canada, with nearly half entering through New York.

It is so easy to come across the northern border.

The U.S. border with Canada is 5,525 miles long, and there aren’t many border agents covering it.

Fox News recently interviewed a property owner in northern New York that says that migrants are constantly entering this country through his land…

Chris Oliver’s property in Fort Covington, New York has become an unintended gateway for a stream of illegal immigrants crossing the Canadian border into the United States, leaving him dismayed and wondering if the problem will ever be resolved.

He told “Fox & Friends First” he “absolutely” blames “border czar” Kamala Harris and President Biden for the issue.

“You have no control over it. You don’t know who these people are. Not everybody is a good person,” Oliver said on Wednesday.

    He is right.

We need to know who these people are, because not everyone is coming here with good intentions.

In fact, during that same interview Oliver mentioned a recent case where a man was arrested that was planning “an ISIS-style attack in New York City”

“They had a guy up in Ormstown not too far away from us, get arrested. He was planning an ISIS-style attack in New York City. That was just recently. That same night, I still had people come across my cameras. That should be stopped.”

For those that are crossing the northern border, New York City is the number one destination.

According to NPR, transporting “new arrivals” from India to New York City has actually become a very lucrative business

A group of immigrants from India pile out of a taxi minivan beside the Clinton County, New York, government building in this small upstate city half an hour from the Canadian border.

They are quickly swarmed by a half a dozen fellow Indian immigrants who’ve waited hours for this business opportunity.

This fleet of jitney taxis offering migrants rides south to New York City is one clear example of the informal economy that’s sprung up following a significant increase in unauthorized crossings across the usually sleepy northern border over the last year and a half.

Needless to say, some people are coming to the United States because they want a better life.

But in many other cases, people are crossing the border for very nefarious reasons.

According to the New York Post, children that are as young as 8 years old “are being drugged and smuggled into the US by traffickers”…

Border Patrol agents are warning that kids as young as 8 are being drugged and smuggled into the US by traffickers posing as their parents or family members — and nobody knows how common the horrifying practice is.

Authorities have rescued children caught up in two different instances of such smuggling in recent weeks — including one instance in which the alleged traffickers had birth certificates for multiple kids to whom they weren’t related, according to the Border Patrol.

Border Patrol sources have told The Post they’ve observed increasing numbers of smugglers posing as family units in order to “recycle” children.

Stopping the exploitation of children should be a good enough reason all by itself to secure our borders.

But our politicians refuse to do it.

Others are crossing our borders because they intend to commit acts of violence.  Recently, a very alarming discovery of weapons was made very close to the southern border

Republicans are outraged at the Biden-Harris administration for ignoring an escalating security crisis at the southern border after rocket-propelled grenades and explosives were found near Arizona.

A bombshell report indicated that at least 4 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and 8 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were discovered in Mexico close to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Huge amounts of ammunition were also found in the ‘scout site’ that was around 700 feet from the border wall in Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, according to an internal memo first reported by NewsNation.

At this stage, we don’t know exactly who those weapons belonged to or what they intended to do with them.

But it is being reported that Iran “is trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump”…

Iran has made it “clear” that it is trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump, as well as members of his administration – and the current Biden administration – as payback for the killing of an Iranian general and other hardline policies, U.S. officials and lawmakers said Wednesday.

The comments came after Trump’s dramatic disclosure Tuesday night that he had been briefed earlier in the day by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence about Tehran’s “real and specific threats” against him.

As I shared with my core supporters recently, U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz has admitted that a top official with the Department of Homeland Security has told him that there are at least five assassination teams inside this country right now that are targeting Trump.

It really will be a miracle if Trump makes it to the election.

If Trump ultimately ends up winning, the left will go completely nuts and the millions upon millions of “new arrivals” that the left has brought into our major cities will go completely nuts.

It certainly won’t take much to unleash an unprecedented tsunami of civil unrest, and perhaps that was the plan all along.

Hezbollah: “All Red Lines Have Been Crossed” & There Will Be A Response To Israel’s “Declaration Of War”

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog under the title: Hezbollah Says “All Red Lines Have Been Crossed” And There Will Be A Devastating Response To Israel’s “Declaration Of War”

Even though a lot of people out there don’t seem to realize it yet, we are watching history in the making.  Israel and Hezbollah have both been preparing for a final showdown for many years and now here we are.  I have a feeling that both sides have more surprises up their sleeves, and in the months ahead we are going to witness things that we have never seen before.  Of course, we have never seen thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies suddenly explode before either.  During a speech that was delivered on Thursday, Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah publicly declared that “all red lines have been crossed by the enemy”

Hezbollah’s leader has condemned Israel after thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies exploded over two days, saying ‘all red lines have been crossed by the enemy’ and that the deadly attacks ‘deserve a response’.

Nasrallah also said that what we witnessed this week was a “declaration of war” by Israel…

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah declared Israel’s surprise pager and handheld radio attacks a “declaration of war” and dared the Jewish state to invade Lebanon. As he spoke, Israeli forces carpet bombed the terror group’s strongholds.

In a televised address Thursday, Nasrallah acknowledged that Hezbollah “received a heavy, painful blow,” saying that Israel’s decision to detonate scores of pagers and other electronic devices earlier this week amounted to “a major aggression” that will not go unanswered.

“These massacres amount to war crimes or a declaration of war,” Nasrallah said, promising “a crushing response from the axis of resistance.”

It sounds like he is saying that Israel and Hezbollah are now officially at war.

And of course that would be an accurate assessment of the current state of affairs.

As Nasrallah was delivering his speech, Israeli forces were conducting airstrikes in southern Lebanon, and fighter jets were setting off sonic booms over Beirut

Israel launched a wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, moments before the militant group’s leader said two days of debilitating attacks on its members amounted to a declaration of war.

The strikes Thursday were more extensive than in previous days and were timed to coincide with a televised speech by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was addressing a wave of device explosions before cadres who were shocked by the scale of the attack. Israeli jets flew over Beirut, setting off sonic booms as they have done repeatedly in recent months in an effort to intimidate the group.

Does Nasrallah actually believe that Hezbollah can win the coming war?

He must realize that Israel has capabilities that his side does not.

Once Israeli forces enter southern Lebanon, there will be no turning back and vast numbers of people will die.

At this moment, additional Israeli units are on their way to the northern border

In a statement Wednesday, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the “center of gravity” in the Israel-Hamas war was moving north to Lebanon. He said more military units and resources were being sent to the border.

“This is not Hamas − we’re dealing with something different, and we need to prepare accordingly,” he said.

I know that the Biden administration is still pushing for peace, but U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his minions are extremely incompetent.

And Hezbollah has already stated that there will be no peace as long as the IDF is fighting in Gaza.  On Thursday, Hezbollah continued to fire at targets inside northern Israel

The powerful Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah continued to strike what it called military targets in northern Israel Thursday after thousands of its members were injured and several killed in an apparent Israeli operation using exploding pagers and other communication devices. The Israel Defense Forces said it was striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon “to degrade Hezbollah’s terrorist capabilities and infrastructure.”

“The Hezbollah terrorist organization has turned southern Lebanon into a combat zone. For decades, Hezbollah has weaponized civilian homes, dug tunnels beneath them, and used civilians as human shields,” the IDF said in a statement. “The IDF is operating to bring security to northern Israel in order to enable the return of residents to their homes, as well as to achieve of all of the war goals.”

In response, the IDF hit more than 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers.  The airstrikes that we witnessed on Thursday evening are being called “some of the most intense” that we have seen so far…

Israel carried out dozens of strikes on Thursday across southern Lebanon, in what Lebanese security sources said were some of the most intense bombings since Hezbollah began daily cross-border attacks on northern communities after the start of the Gaza war on October 7.

The military said fighter jets had struck over 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers in southern Lebanon that were primed for immediate attacks on Israel. It said that in total, the launchers included around 1,000 launch barrels.

This is going to end very badly.

But most of you knew that already.

There are a couple of other things that I wanted to mention.

Firstly, it is being reported that the pagers and walkie-talkies that exploded this week were actually made by shell companies that had been set up by the Israelis…

The Israeli secret service didn’t just tamper with the deadly Hezbollah pagers — they made them from scratch, having set up a complex web of shell companies across Europe, it was claimed today.

Initially it was suspected that Mossad had managed to intercept and plant tiny bombs in a shipment of the pagers headed for the Iranian-backed terror group in Lebanon after thousands of people were injured and dozens killed.

But now it appears that the Israelis set up front companies across Europe to manufacture the pagers themselves, embedding small amounts of PETN explosive inside, ready to be detonated by a coded message.

In particular, the New York Times is telling us that the pagers that exploded came from a Hungarian company that had been purposely set up to sell electronic equipment to Hezbollah…

A report Thursday alleged that a Hungarian firm that apparently supplied pagers used by Hezbollah was secretly set up by Israeli spies as part of a widescale operation that appeared to culminate this week when the devices exploded, killing several and maiming thousands of Hezbollah operatives and others in Lebanon and Syria.

The New York Times claimed that rather than merely managing to tamper with the devices at some stage of their production or distribution, Israel actually “manufactured them as part of an elaborate ruse.”

On the other side, the Iranians have apparently been attempting to assassinate Benjamin Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials

Iran plotted to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar, the Shin Bet, in cooperation with the police, announced on Thursday.

Its efforts were particularly intense following the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, which most of the world has attributed to Mossad. However, Israel has been careful not to take any credit for it.

In addition, the Islamic Republic, at a somewhat more vague level, explored assassinating former prime minister Naftali Bennett and other top Israeli defense officials.

The most alarming plot reportedly involved an Israeli businessman who was actually smuggled into Iran on multiple occasions…

An Israeli businessman was smuggled into Iran to plot the assassination of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials, police and intelligence officials said Thursday, amid rising tensions over Trojan Horse attacks this week that killed dozens of Hezbollah fighters and civilians in Lebanon and wounded thousands more.

The Israeli businessman wanted a million dollars in advance to help kill Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, but he only received 5,000 euros before he was finally arrested…

The suspect was twice smuggled into Iran from Turkey to meet with Iranian intelligence officials, the Israeli statement said. He demanded $1 million in advance to help kill targets including Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar − but received a paltry 5,000 Euros for his trouble before Israeli police arrested him last month.

We are witnessing extreme chaos in the Middle East, but what we have seen so far is just the beginning.

Once Israeli forces enter southern Lebanon, events are going to move very rapidly.

Many will cheer the death and destruction, but the truth is that we should all grieve for every precious soul that passes into eternity.

Sadly, there is no way out now.

War is here, and it will soon escalate to a level that will shock the entire planet.

    Hammock Vs Tent: Comparison Chart

    Hammock Vs Tent Comparison Chart

California Just Set A Very Alarming New Record For Earthquakes

What in the world is happening in California?  The state just keeps getting hit by major disaster after major disaster, but we are all supposed to pretend that this is perfectly normal.  Of course the truth is that what we are witnessing is not normal at all.  As you will see below, California just set a very alarming new record for earthquakes in a single year.  In addition, the number of acres that wildfires have burned in the state this year is about three times higher than last year.  So please don’t try to convince me that this is normal.  Of course it isn’t just the state of California that is experiencing an unusual number of natural disasters.  As I have been warning for a long time, our entire planet is becoming increasingly unstable.

Early on Thursday morning, residents of southern California were shaken by a magnitude 4.7 earthquake

A large, 4.7-magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Southern California early Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake struck the Malibu area around 7:28 a.m. with an initial magnitude of 5.1, officials said. It has since been downgraded to 4.7.

The epicenter of this quake was in Malibu, but people living all over the Los Angeles area could feel it

The 7:28 a.m. quake was centered in the Malibu area. Shaking from the earthquake was reported in Malibu, Hermosa Beach, La Mirada, Anaheim, the Hollywood Hills and parts of the San Fernando Valley so far.

I even saw one report that indicated that the earthquake could be felt all the way down in San Diego.

Following the initial quake, there were over two dozen aftershocks.

By itself, this latest earthquake wouldn’t be that big of a deal, because very little damage was done.

What makes it important is the larger pattern that we have been witnessing.  According to USGS seismologist Lucy Jones, the number of “magnitude-4 sequences” that we have seen so far this year is the highest ever recorded

In a televised Q&A just after the temblor, USGS seismologist Lucy Jones said: “We have had more than the average [number of] magnitude-4 quakes in Southern California this year — the average being about eight magnitude-4 sequences, that being sequences of at least one magniture-4 … So far we’ve had 14 in Southern California; the largest previous year was 13.”

So what does all of this mean?

Is all of this seismic activity in southern California building up to something?

If you ask one scientist you will get one answer, and if you ask another scientist you will get another answer.

But pretty much all of them agree that “the Big One” is way overdue.

When “the Big One” finally arrives, life in southern California will never be the same again.

At the same time that all of this shaking is taking place in southern California, wildfires in the region are burning tens of thousands of acres.

Firefighters are battling three major wildfires at this moment, and it is being reported that the Bridge Fire has now “exploded” and has become “the largest active fire in the state”

A raging wildfire in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties has exploded to almost 50,000 acres, forcing residents to flee in a hurry and destroying dozens of homes.

The Bridge Fire has set over 51,000 acres ablaze and is 0% contained, officials said Thursday. Its rapid growth made it the largest active fire in the state, surpassing the Line Fire, which is also burning in San Bernardino and has scorched another 37,000 acres with 18% containment.

One evacuee described a harrowing scene on Tuesday as flames reached a neighborhood atop California’s Mt. Baldy. Looking at the mountain from afar, “it looked like a nuke went off, nothing but smoke,” Liz Wenzel said.

Can you imagine looking back at where your home once stood and seeing that it looks “like a nuke went off”?

    What a tragedy.

You may be thinking that there are wildfires in California every year, and you would be quite correct.

But what we are witnessing this year is particularly horrible.

We are being told that the state has already “seen nearly three times as much acreage burn than during all of 2023″…

California is only now heading into the teeth of the wildfire season but already has seen nearly three times as much acreage burn than during all of 2023. The wildfires have threatened tens of thousands of homes and other structures across Southern California since they accelerated during a triple-digit heat wave over the weekend.

Just think about that for a moment.

The number of acres that has burned in California is already three times higher than all of last year, and we are just now entering the heart of wildfire season for the state.

Of course we are also seeing lots of very unusual things happen elsewhere around the world too.

For instance, the number of hailstorms in Europe appears to be increasing at an exponential rate

Having analysed the European Severe Weather Database, Chaucer said that the number of hailstorms has jumped 104% to 11,808 storms last year (year-ending June 30th 2024), up from 5,785 in 2022/23.

    That certainly isn’t good.

And earlier today I came across a story about a landslide in Greenland that caused a mega-tsunami that “shook the Earth for nine straight days”

After a mountaintop collapsed into the sea in Greenland, a ‘mega-tsunami’ as tall as a skyscraper shook the Earth for nine straight days, baffling scientists around the world.

No one was injured by the landslide or resulting tsunami, but the 650-foot-tall wave destroyed roughly $200,000 worth of infrastructure at an unoccupied research station on Ella Island.

We all live on a giant space rock that is hurtling through space at 67,000 miles per hour.

All throughout history, the giant space rock that we live on has been unstable, but now things seem to be getting a lot worse.

I am entirely convinced that we are entering a time when we will see cataclysmic geophysical events that would have once been absolutely unthinkable to most people.

In other words, if you have always wondered what it would be like to be inside an epic Hollywood disaster movie, you are about to get your chance.

So buckle up and hold on tight, because a tremendous amount of shaking is ahead of us.

An Ultra-Violent Migrant Gang Is Shooting Police Officers, Trafficking Young Women And Raping Kids

The chaos that we are witnessing in the streets is the direct result of the decisions that our politicians have made.  As I discussed yesterday, allowing millions upon millions of migrants that are not being properly screened to come pouring over our wide open borders is not a good idea.  There are certainly many migrants that are coming here because they want to work hard and create a better life for themselves.  But of course there are others that are coming here for other reasons.  Throwing the back door wide open for vast numbers of criminals that intend to cause all sorts of mayhem once they arrive in our major cities is extremely foolish.  We are literally committing national suicide, and many of our leaders don’t seem to care.

According to NBC News, authorities are currently investigating more than 100 serious crimes that have been committed by an ultra-violent gang of migrants from Venezuela known as Tren de Aragua…

U.S. law enforcement and immigration officials have launched more than 100 investigations of crimes tied to suspected members of a violent Venezuelan gang, including sex trafficking in Louisiana and the point-blank shooting of two New York City police officers, according to two Department of Homeland Security officials.

The cases involving the Tren de Aragua gang show how hard it is for U.S. border agents to vet the criminal backgrounds of migrants from countries like Venezuela that won’t give the U.S. any help.

More than 330,000 Venezuelans crossed the U.S. border last year, according to Customs and Border Protection data, and Venezuela, like Cuba, China and a handful of other countries, doesn’t provide any criminal history information to U.S. officials.

Gang members are coming over the southern border in extremely large numbers, and once they are allowed in they can literally go anywhere in the country that they want.

Sadly, violence seems to erupt wherever members of this particular gang show up.

For example, two members of Tren de Aragua are facing the death penalty for murdering a former police officer in south Florida…

Two alleged members of the dangerous Venezuelan ‘Tren de Aragua’ gang face the death penalty for the 2023 kidnapping and murder of a man in the city of Doral, in Miami-Dade County, whose apartment was ransacked by armed men.

Julio César Hernández Montero, 27 years old; and Yurwin Salazar Maita, 23, appeared by court order in county court Tuesday, where prosecutors charged them with first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing 43-year-old José Luis Sánchez Valera.

In addition to these charges, Assistant State Attorney Gabriela Alfaro told Judge Laura Cruz that the state will prosecute the co-defendants for robbery, home invasion, vehicle theft, kidnapping and burglary.

This would never have happened if the Biden administration had not let them in.

In the Big Apple, a member of the gang that entered this country illegally recently shot two police officers

In New York, police say Bernardo Raul Castro-Mata, a 19-year-old from Venezuela, shot two police officers last week. Castro-Mata entered the country illegally last July, a member of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told CNN. The Venezuelan has tattoos associated with Tren de Aragua – which court documents for a suspected gang member in Georgia describe as five-pointed crowns, five-pointed stars and teardrops – the New York Police Department told CNN.

Venezuela is more than happy to send their criminals to us, and the Biden administration is more than happy to take them in.

Now crime in Venezuela is going down, and crime in our country is going up.

In Denver, members of Tren de Aragua have reportedly been given a “green light” to attack law enforcement officials…

At the same time, the gang has reportedly established a significant presence in parts of Colorado, Fox News reported. They were reportedly given a “green light” to fire on or attack law enforcement in Denver.

There have also been reports of the gang taking over at least two apartment buildings in Aurora.

Gang members were not just living in the apartment buildings that they took over in Aurora.

It is being reported that the gang was actually using some of the apartments for child prostitution…

A bombshell report details the complete control the criminal organization had on the Whispering Pine Apartments in the Denver suburb,

Vacant units had reportedly been used to host ‘parties’ where the gang provided ‘drug and child prostitution,’ according to the apartments’ manager, who added that the gangster said ‘minors are a good source of money.’

Sex trafficking is one of the major ways that Tren de Aragua brings in money.

In Louisiana, women that were trafficked by the gang claim that they were forced “to have sex with four men a day”

In a federal affidavit, two of the women described how they were trafficked by three alleged gang members who had entered the U.S. within the past year. All three suspects had been intercepted by Border Patrol after they entered Texas illegally but had then been released into the U.S.

The women say the alleged gang members arranged for them to fly from El Paso, Texas, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Once they were in Baton Rouge, the women were taken to a Ross retail clothing store to buy clothes. They were then taken to an apartment building, where they were allegedly forced to have sex with four men a day.

And apparently the gang has also been operating “stash houses” in several other states as well

Officials arrested two suspects – both Venezuelan nationals – at the location, Allbert Herrera Machado, 23, and Osleidy Vanesa Chourio-Diaz, 26. Agents later arrested another Venezuelan, Josmar Jesus Zambrano-Chirinos, 23, identified in the complaint as a leader of the sex trafficking operation being conducted by the Tren de Aragua in the US. Zambrano was “operating ‘stash houses’ used for human trafficking in Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, and Florida,” according to the criminal complaint reviewed by CNN.

    This is absolutely horrifying.

Our leaders know that this is happening, and nothing is being done to stop it.

Thankfully, there are a few politicians that are speaking out.  U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales has been consistently warning about the threat that Tren de Aragua poses, and he claims that “this gang has been known to rape children”

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX), whose district runs along nearly half of the southern border, said he has warned about the gang and is seriously concerned about the hold it already has in the U.S. given its record as an “agent of chaos and terror through Central and South America.”

“For months, I have sounded the alarm about Tren de Aragua and the threat this gang poses to Americans,” Gonzales said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “It’s graphic, but this gang has been known to rape children, murder, and commit nearly every other crime under the sun. We know that Tren de Aragua has expanded operations in Mexico, and some gang members have made their way into the United States.”

If Joe Biden and Kamala Harris really cared about our women and our children, they would seal the border immediately.

But they will never do that.

Instead, they just made an agreement with the government of Mexico to use buses to transport migrants directly to the U.S. border from two cities in southern Mexico

The latest development between the Biden/Harris administration and the government of Mexico on the immigration front will see migrants provided bussing from two southern Mexico cities to the United States border. The plan will provide the migrants headed to the United States with meals and security during travel from the two cities to the U.S. destination where the migrant’s asylum appointments are scheduled under the CBP-One application.

The government of Mexico’s National Institute of Migration (INM) announced the new program in a Spanish-language notice issued on Saturday, referring to the initiative as the “Secure Emerging Mobility Corridor.” The two departure cities in southern Mexico will be Villahermosa, Tabasco, and Tapachula, Chiapas.

    Are you kidding me?

So now gang members that want to come to the United States will get free bus rides to the border.

What the politicians in Washington are doing to us is literally insane, and it is an enormous threat to our national security.

As social order breaks down in this country, migrant gangs are going to have an absolute field day.

We must shut the border, and we must shut it now.

Historian Warns Four Out of Five Major Predictors for CIVIL WAR in the United States Have Already Happened

This article was originally published by Kevin Hughes at Natural News.

A noted historian, demographer, and author is warning that the United States is on the verge of another civil war.

Neil Howe, who co-authored the book “The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy,” noted that four out of five predictors for a crisis have already happened, leaving the country on the edge of unparalleled internal conflict. (Related: The catalyst for the next US civil war?)

In a recent interview with the Daily Signal, Howe summarized the factors he considers are pushing the American nation toward a possible civil war.

He said the first of four that have come to pass is a “crisis over debt,” which Howe referred to as a “new tea party movement,” which manifested during the 2010 political conflicts under the same name.

The second is a WMD (weapon of mass destruction) attack on a major American city, this being the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on New York City. Howe said the terrorist attacks accomplished this prediction by bringing destruction and enduring consequences.

The third was the pandemic, specifically the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which swept across the world beginning in 2020.

The fourth one was Russia invading a former soviet republic. This was fulfilled when Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, and it connects with his prediction of international tensions reaching a fever pitch.

Nullification crisis could be the tipping point that drops America into chaos

Howe said the only remaining predictor is a nullification crisis, where “one or more of the states would actually nullify federal regulation, which could lead to a new secession movement.”

Such an event could be the tipping point that drops the country into chaos.

Howe’s theory is based upon the concept of “fourth turnings,” which are cyclical events that happen every 80 to 100 years and set off major turmoil like the Great Depression or World War II.

He believes the U.S. is currently experiencing one of these fourth turnings, characterized by today’s intense political polarization and cultural clashes.

Howe said the divisions between “red” and “blue” America have increased and become so deep that each side now sees the other as “perfectly evil.” He stressed that while democracy serves well for settling ordinary issues, it struggles to negotiate deeply personal and identity-driven fights.

“When most of what you’re talking about is the width of sidewalks and the diameter of sewer pipes, just coordination issues, democracy works really well. But when you’re talking about issues that virtually define who you are, it doesn’t work,” Howe said. “You are not going to give up everything you believe in just because you came up three votes short.”

Howe stressed that the nation is at a turning point, adding that the sense of existential threat could push the nation into chaos.

Bushcraft Camp Chair: How to Craft the Perfect Outdoor Seat

Are you ready to take your wilderness comfort to the next level? Picture yourself lounging in the great outdoors on a sturdy chair you built with your own hands. This guide will show you how to craft a bushcraft camp chair using a few basic natural tools and materials. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned survivalist, this DIY project will surely boost your camping game and leave your fellow campers in awe. So, let’s jump in and create a rustic chair that’s charming and practical!

Crafting Your Bushcraft Camp Chair: A Step-by-Step Guide
Ready to make your camping experience more comfortable? This guide will take you through each step to create a sturdy, comfortable chair that’s sure to impress, no matter your skill level. Let’s get started!

    1. Gather Your Materials

Start by finding sturdy, straight branches or poles about an inch thick. Specifically, you’ll need two long poles (around 4-5 feet) for the mainframe and four shorter ones (2-3 feet) for the crosspieces and seat supports. Next, make sure the wood is fresh and solid, not brittle. Additionally, you’ll also need strong cordage, like paracord or natural fibers, to tie everything together.

    2. Prepare the Frame

Next, lay the two long poles on the ground, keeping them about 18-20 inches apart. These poles will form the sides of your chair. Then, cut two shorter poles to the same width and place one at the top and the other at the bottom of the long poles to create a rectangle. Secure the corners tightly with square lashing to ensure the frame is sturdy and solid.

    3. Add the Seat Supports

Now that the frame is ready, it’s time to add the seat supports. First, cut two more short poles to fit between the long poles and place them about a third down from the top. These supports will hold your weight when you sit. Again, use square or diagonal lashing to attach them securely to the long poles. Finally, test the frame by pressing down on it to ensure it’s strong enough.

    Step 4: Create the Seat

Finally, it’s time to create the seat. You can either use several thin branches or a piece of strong fabric. If you choose branches, cut them to fit across the seat supports and space them closely for comfort. Next, lash the branches to the supports with tight, even wraps. In contrast, if you’re using fabric, drape it over the seat supports and tie it down securely with cordage, ensuring it doesn’t sag.

    Step 5: Add Finishing Touches

With your chair nearly complete, it’s time for the finishing touches. First, tighten any loose lashings to ensure everything is secure. If you notice rough edges, smooth them out with your knife to avoid splinters. For a bit more comfort, you can add a backrest by lashing extra branches or fabric to the top of the frame. Once you’re happy with how it looks and feels, your chair is good to go!

Additional Tips for Your Bushcraft Chair

Enhancing your bushcraft chair with thoughtful touches can significantly improve your comfort and enjoyment in the wilderness. By taking a little extra time to refine your build, you can enjoy a personalized, reliable seat that enhances your outdoor experience and adds a layer of satisfaction to your wilderness adventures.

Pick the Right Wood: Use green wood, which bends easily and won’t break as quickly.
Check Stability: Test your chair regularly, especially if you use it often.
Practice Lashing: Brush your lashing skills to ensure your joints are strong and sturdy.
Use Quality Cord: Go for strong cordage like paracord for better durability.
Personalize It: Make your chair your own by adding armrests or a comfy seat cushion.

Why Build a Bushcraft Camp Chair?
