As natural gas and electricity prices soar, many European households turn to firewood, a move to offset higher energy costs as the heating season begins. Rising demand for firewood is sending much of Europe back to the ‘medieval’ days of using stoves and fireplaces to heat homes.
The sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline system underneath the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany sparked even more energy uncertainty among Germans as many brace for what could be the coldest and possibly even the darkest winter in a generation due to rising risks of power blackouts.
On Friday, European Union leaders failed to agree on a price cap for NatGas as the energy crisis might worsen this winter as freezing weather could quickly draw down supplies from storage facilities and catapult prices even higher.
About 70% of Europeans use NatGas to heat their homes, and according to Bloomberg, some 40 million people are now burning wood to heat their homes. New demand for a heat source that’s been around for ages has doubled the price of wood pellets per ton to 600 euros in France.
Bloomberg pointed out Europeans are “panic buying the world’s most basic fuel.” Demand is so high that Hungary banned exports of wood pellets, and Romania capped firewood prices through spring.
“It’s back to the old days when people wouldn’t have the whole house heated,” said Nic Snell, managing director at British wholesale firewood retailer Certainly Wood. He added firewood is in high demand.
The boom for firewood has also meant stove demand is high. Gabriel Kakelugnar AB, a manufacturer of high-end tiled stoves, said orders had surged more than fourfold, and customers have to wait until March for delivery.
Firewood has become a scarce commodity this heating season, forcing some households to burn anything they can find:
“We are worried that people will just burn what they can get their hands on,” Roger Sedin, head of the air quality unit at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, said.
In fact, this is true, Polish households have started to burn trash and coal as firewood supplies dwindle.
The UK has finally come around to informing its citizens about power blackout risks. The country’s grid operator warned about the “significant risk” of NatGas shortage that could trigger three-hour power cuts this winter.
Well before the heating season, we detailed in length about soaring demand for firewood. We noted in August that “Google Searches For “Firewood” In Germany Have Exploded” and even in July cited Deutsche Bank senior economist Eric Heymann who indicated a “substitution for gas” would be firewood.
Europeans have to ask if soaring electricity bills and a cost-of-living crisis are worth supporting NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine via sanctions against Russia. People in Prague are already tired of Western sanctions that have devastated their economy and financial well-being.
We have been warned over and over again about what will happen if we stay on the path that we are currently on. So why aren’t the American people demanding a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine? If the American people truly understood what was at stake, we would be seeing absolutely massive protests in all of our major cities right now. Once a nuclear war starts, there will be no turning back. Our nation will be destroyed, and hundreds of millions of people will die. A lot of you out there have big plans for the future, but there will be no future for America if nuclear missiles start flying.
During a campaign rally held in Minden, Nevada on Saturday, Donald Trump delivered the most ominous warning that he has ever issued.
Trump believes that if a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine cannot be found soon, “we will end up in World War III and there will be nothing left of our planet”…
“We must demand the immediate negotiation of a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine, or we will end up in World War III and there will be nothing left of our planet all because stupid people didn’t have a clue, they didn’t have a clue,” Trump said. “They don’t understand, they really don’t understand.”
Trump was in the White House for four years.
So he knows what is at stake.
And he can also see that the current group that is running our foreign policy is really stupid.
I really wish that more Americans could understand this.
Joe Biden is a hothead in an advanced state of mental decline, and he has surrounded himself with an all-star team of warmongers such as Jake Sullivan, Antony Blinken and Victoria Nuland.
If they keep doing what they are doing, they are going to get us nuked.
Instead of looking for a peaceful way out of this mess, both sides just continue to escalate matters. We just witnessed an absolutely stunning attack on the 12 mile bridge that connects Crimea and Russia. That bridge was a pet project of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and he personally opened it in 2018.
Needless to say, he is extremely angry about what has just happened, and he is calling it a “terror attack”…
A red-faced Vladimir Putin has branded the attack on a bridge in Crimea a ‘terror attack’ and blamed Ukrainian special forces for the explosion which severely damaged the key link to the Russian mainland.
Speaking ahead of a meeting with his Security Council tomorrow, the livid Russian president said the blast at the Kerch bridge was designed to destroy ‘critically important civilian infrastructure’.
He declared that the attack was a terrorist incident, a move that could open the door for further escalation in the war that has raged in Ukraine since Russia’s illegal invasion in February.
When Putin meets with his Security Council, they will inevitably decide to hit back really hard.
One very prominent pro-Putin voice named Vladimir Solovyov is suggesting that Russia should strike back by going after critical Ukrainian infrastructure…
“Ukraine should be plunged into dark times. Bridges, dams, railways, thermal power plants and other infrastructure facilities should be destroyed throughout Ukraine.”
Personally, I think that is a very real possibility.
Up to this point, Putin has tried very hard to “play nice” and has not taken out the Ukrainian power grid.
But it would be really easy for the Russians to do that, and it would come just before the severely cold weather in Ukraine begins.
There are others that have suggested that Putin should use tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine, but I don’t think that will happen yet.
Because if it does happen, that could easily lead to a full-blown nuclear war.
This is something that even Joe Biden realizes…
“First time since the Cuban missile crisis, we have a direct threat of the use (of a) nuclear weapon if in fact things continue down the path they are going,” Biden warned during remarks at a Democratic fundraiser in New York on Friday.
He added: “I don’t think there’s any such thing as the ability to easily (use) a tactical nuclear weapon and not end up with Armageddon.”
Biden understands that we are getting dangerously close to a nuclear conflict.
So why won’t he pull us back from the brink while there is still time?
The Ukrainians would not have attacked the bridge connecting Crimea with Russia unless we had given them approval to do so.
In fact, it is likely that CIA personnel actually cooked up that operation. It is being reported that there is now “a much larger presence of both CIA and U.S. special operations personnel and resources in Ukraine” than there was at the beginning of the war…
Yet clandestine American operations inside Ukraine are now far more extensive than they were early in the war, when U.S. intelligence officials were fearful that Russia would steamroll over the Ukrainian army. There is a much larger presence of both CIA and U.S. special operations personnel and resources in Ukraine than there were at the time of the Russian invasion in February, several current and former intelligence officials told The Intercept.
Secret U.S. operations inside Ukraine are being conducted under a presidential covert action finding, current and former officials said. The finding indicates that the president has quietly notified certain congressional leaders about the administration’s decision to conduct a broad program of clandestine operations inside the country. One former special forces officer said that Biden amended a preexisting finding, originally approved during the Obama administration, that was designed to counter malign foreign influence activities. A former CIA officer told The Intercept that Biden’s use of the preexisting finding has frustrated some intelligence officials, who believe that U.S. involvement in the Ukraine conflict differs so much from the spirit of the finding that it should merit a new one. A CIA spokesperson declined to comment about whether there is a presidential covert action finding for operations in Ukraine.
From what I am hearing, the U.S. intelligence community is very much involved in running the show over there at this point.
But most Americans don’t even know that we have personnel on the ground in Ukraine.
Most of our fellow citizens just assume that this war is a conflict between the Russians and the Ukrainians.
I wish that was true.
Unfortunately, this proxy war between the United States and Russia has gone to a whole new level.
First, the Nord Stream pipeline system was deliberately sabotaged and now the bridge connecting Crimea and Russia has been bombed.
More escalations are inevitably coming.
Is the red horse of war getting ready to ride?
I really hope that those that hear Donald Trump’s warning will take it to heart.
This is not a game.
If a nuclear war happens, it will be the end of our country.
So let us pray for peace, because the alternative is absolutely unthinkable.

Our politicians in Washington are literally destroying our future. But do you see anyone out in the streets protesting their calamitous policies? By now, you have probably heard that the U.S. national debt has hit 31 trillion dollars. To be more precise, as I write this article the U.S. national debt is currently sitting at $31,142,591,307,260.01. It is the largest single debt in the history of the world, and given enough time it would completely destroy our economy all by itself. Unfortunately, hardly anyone in Washington seems to care about our rapidly exploding debt at this point.
In the old days, the Republicans would at least put on a show for us. They would huff and puff about the national debt but then give the Democrats virtually all of the spending that they wanted anyway.
But now they have figured out that such a charade is no longer necessary, because most of their constituents just don’t care.
So most of our politicians no longer even pretend to care about fiscal responsibility. In recent years they have been on the biggest borrowing and spending binge in our entire history, and there are no indications that they ever plan to stop.
They borrow and spend trillions upon trillions of dollars, and they expect you, your children, and your grandchildren to pay it back.
Of course that will never happen.
We are never going to pay back the 31.1 trillion dollars that we have borrowed.
Instead, we are just going to push the accelerator all the way to the floor until we finally go off a cliff.
During the month of August alone, the U.S. government ran a $219.6 billion budget deficit…
Some things never change — such as the federal government spending more money than it has month after month after month.
August was no different. The US government ran a massive $219.6 billion budget deficit last month, according to the latest Monthly Treasury Statement. That nudged out July as the second-largest monthly deficit in fiscal 2022.
Sadly, I didn’t hear of anyone in Washington giving a major speech when that happened, because the national debt is not even considered to be an important national issue today.
But our entire standard of living depends on the value of the U.S. dollar. Having the default reserve currency of the world has been such a massive advantage for the United States, and now we are frittering it away.
The rest of the world can see what we are doing.
We are transforming our currency into toilet paper, and it is just a matter of time before it completely collapses.
Today, our politicians are stealing more than 200 million dollars from future generations of Americans every single hour of every single day.
Just think about that.
The old geezers in Washington know that they are near the end of the road.
So they know that they will never have to pay any of this money back.
But they get to spend it on whatever they want.
Of course it was inevitable that all of this borrowing and spending would eventually create rampant inflation, and now we are facing the worst inflation crisis in our history.
Yes, even worse than the Jimmy Carter era of the 1970s.
The Federal Reserve is rapidly hiking interest rates in a desperate attempt to get inflation under control, but that is causing all sorts of problems.
For one thing, the interest payments on our national debt will soon exceed a trillion dollars a year…
According to the Congressional Budget Office, this is exactly what will happen. It projects interest payments will triple from nearly $400 billion in fiscal 2022 to $1.2 trillion in 2032. And it’s worse than that. The CBO made this estimate in May. Interest rates are already higher than those used in its analysis.
Unfortunately, I don’t think that the current system will survive until 2032.
Previous generations handed us the keys to the reserve currency of the world and the greatest economic machine that the planet had ever witnessed.
Sadly, we took those precious gifts and completely destroyed them.
As a society, we have lost all regard for long-term consequences.
Let me give you another example. Joe Biden just announced that he will be releasing more oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve…
“At the president’s direction, the Department of Energy will deliver another 10 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to the market next month as part of the historic 180-million-barrel release the President ordered back in March. And the President will continue to direct SPR releases as necessary,” she said.
What an incredibly foolish thing to do.
It is only supposed to be used in the event of a national emergency, and what Biden has decided to do is absolutely unprecedented.
The fact that things are not looking good for his party in November is not an “emergency”, and Senator Tom Cotton is not amused…
Whoa, say critics, including Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).
“Well, it’s called the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It’s not the political petroleum reserve,” Cotton told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham Wednesday night.
We are going to need that oil someday.
But thanks to Biden, most of it will already be gone.
If we found ourselves in the middle of a major war, the worldwide flow of energy supplies would suddenly be greatly restricted. That is the sort of emergency scenario that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve was designed for.
Sadly, thanks to the warmongers in the Biden administration we may soon find ourselves fighting wars with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran simultaneously.
Most Americans have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Things with North Korea are getting really, really tense, and a major war in the Middle East could erupt at any time.
World War 3 has already started, but thankfully we haven’t gotten to the part where billions of people die just yet.
Unfortunately, our current crop of leaders couldn’t care less about the long-term future of humanity.
So they continue to pursue policies that are incredibly self-destructive, and we are all going to pay a very great price for their foolishness.

The best types of rifles for women are an interesting subject. I’d been hunting upland birds for several years, but nothing matched the feeling I had when I watched a buck through the scope on my first deer rifle. It was only four years ago, and I’d hunted birds all over the country and won a regional shotgun title, but the excitement was nothing like this.
We’d been seeing a lot of deer behind our house and our neighbor, knowing that we were shooters and hunters, came by the house to give us permission to deer hunt on his property. At first, I didn’t take the deer hunting idea seriously, but the more I thought about it, the more intriguing it became. My husband gave me a 1954 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .243 Winchester. It has a 22-inch, lightweight barrel, a walnut stock, and the bolt works like it’s been greased with butter.
My breath was ragged and I was trembling a little as I lined up the scope. The buck was at the far end of the field, about 250 yards away, so I ran the scope up to 9X and put the crosshairs low and just behind his shoulder. I don’t think I felt the recoil or heard the report—I just remember him taking a few steps and crumpling down. When I got to him, the entrance of the bullet was exactly where I’d put the crosshairs. My first buck was only a six-pointer, but taking him was as exciting as anything I’d ever done.
After that first deer hunting experience, I realized just how much I enjoyed the concept of being able to place a single bullet in a specific spot. It was a huge transition from my experiences with a shotgun and the gratification was entirely different, but I really enjoy shooting rifles.
I recognized from my experiences with shotguns that rifles that work well for men might not be ideal for women. Since we generally have smaller frames, we need lighter-weight, more compact dimensions, and less recoil. Assuming the average woman weighs 150 pounds and the average man weighs 200 pounds, we normally need about a 25-percent reduction in weight and size for a woman’s rifle to be proportionate. There are different types of rifles that make sense here.
We’ve been blessed in recent years because firearm manufacturers have recognized that women are the fastest-growing segment of the shooting market. They’ve responded with some excellent compact guns. I suppose my old .243 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight would have been a precursor to those guns, even though it still has standard stock dimensions.
Now, almost every major manufacturer of hunting rifles makes compact versions perfectly suited to smaller-framed women. Also available are full-sized rifles in lightweight versions for those of us who can comfortably handle full-sized rifles but still need a lightweight option.
Of these, probably the most versatile models for hunting are the modern, compact bolt actions. They’re slim and graceful, making them easy to carry. The bolt action is generally considered to be the most accurate of all rifle action types. Almost all the popular current bolt actions feature excellent triggers, convenient detachable box magazines, and durable polymer stocks.
For those who like a more traditional look, wood stocks are available on most models. Bolt actions are also typically the most economical class of rifles, with many models available for under $400. Many are available in a scope/rifle combination with the scope already mounted to the rifle. All you have to do is sight in and you’re ready to hunt.
Bolt actions lend themselves well in all forms of hunting, but they’re especially suited for longer-range shooting in open country. They come in a wide range of calibers known for a longer range, good knockdown power, and moderate recoil. They’re simple to maintain, and mounting optics is a straightforward (no gunsmith needed) process.
For deer-sized game, the .243 Winchester is a great caliber. It has the versatility to work well for varmints with light bullets and deer-sized game with heavier bullets. Another great caliber is the .260 Remington. Flat shooting and capable of handling bullets up to 120 grains, the .260 has proven itself as a great caliber, particularly in its accuracy.
For larger game, like elk and moose, the .308 Winchester, the round the .243 and .260 are based on, is a proven performer. While these calibers lack the excitement of the magnum calibers, they all work well with the shorter barrels of most compact rifles. Reduced-recoil ammunition in most of the popular calibers is now available. It offers even lower recoil and can allow you access to a lower-powered, more comfortable load to shoot when you don’t need the extra knockdown power.
For hunting where cover is heavy and longer shots are rare, lever-action rifles are a great choice. Almost all are light and handy, easy to load, and fast on follow-up shots. Marlin, Winchester, Mossberg, and Browning all make quality lever rifles. Most are chambered for the excellent, if somewhat dated, .30-30 Winchester, a caliber that’s probably taken more deer than any other. Marlin also offers lever-action rifles in the new .308 Marlin and .338 Marlin Express. Meanwhile, Browning rifles are chambered for almost all popular calibers.
Probably the most versatile of all rifles are the modern sporting rifles based on the AR-15 platform. They are lightweight, easy to handle, and offer more options for customization than any design in the history of firearms. Most all models are available in .223 Remington, but other popular choices are 6.8 SPC, .300 AAC Blackout, 7.62x39mm, and .450 Bushmaster. The .223 Remington is an excellent varmint caliber. It can be, and often is, used on deer-sized game, feral hogs, and coyotes, but always remember that good shot placement is critical.
Effective loads for deer-sized game are now available from several manufacturers due to modern bullet technology. The 6.8 SPC is probably a better choice for deer-sized game, with bullets available from 85 to 115 grains. Premium 110-grain bullets, such as the Nosler AccuBond or Barnes Triple-Shock X, can provide deep and straight penetration. They are an excellent choice in AR-platform rifles.
What makes AR-platform sporting rifles so attractive is their fully modular construction. They allow you to buy upper receivers and use the rifle for almost any purpose up to medium-sized game.
You can switch from .223 Remington, an excellent target and varmint cartridge, to .22 LR for economical practice, or go in the other direction to 6.8 SPC for medium-sized game or even .450 Bushmaster for a powerful and effective short-range rifle suitable for shooting in thick cover.
AR-platform rifles that are excellent for taking big game are chambered in .308 Winchester and greater. Modern AR-10s are only slightly heavier than AR-15s, though most calibers have heavier recoil. However, they are accurate, more powerful, and still easy to shoot and operate.
As the old Virginia Slims commercial said, “We’ve come a long way, baby.” With women being the fastest-growing segment of the firearms market, the shooting industry is paying attention. While most types of rifles work for women without alteration, the industry noticed that there’s a market for guns, ammunition, and accessories specifically designed to work better for us.

Retired US Army colonel Douglas Macgregor who was a Pentagon advisor claimed that the United States is most likely the state actor that sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines. In doing so, the U.S. has isolated Germany and made certain they have a cold and dark winter.
Macgregor added that Britain probably also played a role and that the attack was carried out to prevent Germany from bailing on the war in Ukraine. During an appearance on the Judging Freedom podcast. Macgregor said a process of elimination rules out Germany, because they are dependent on Nord Stream for their energy security, while it also served no benefit for Russia to have sabotaged its own infrastructure.
Germany appeared to be ready to abandon the proxy war and remove sanctions on Russia so it could actually provide natural gas to its slaves this coming winter.
“I’m hesitant to say ‘we know it must have been Washington’. I can’t say that because we just don’t know. But it’s very clear that we have foreclosed Berlin’s options. Berlin was drifting away from this alliance. [Chancellor] Olaf Scholz said ‘I’m not sending any more equipment, I won’t send any tanks’. Now he’s in a bind because the United States has simply robbed him of the option of bailing out. Who’s going to supply him gas and oil and coal and everything else if he bails out? Where does he turn now? And remember, the Germans, who are facing terrible consequences at home refuse to restart nuclear power plants,” the former official said.

“Would the Russians destroy their own pipeline? 40 percent of Russian gross national product or gross domestic product consists of foreign currency that comes into the country to purchase natural gas, oil, coal, and so forth. So the Russians did not do this. The notion that they did I think is absurd,” Macgregor said.
Referring to Polish MEP Radoslaw Sikorski’s infamous deleted tweet in which he wrote, “Thank you, USA,” Macgregor noted, “Who else might be involved? Well the Poles apparently seem to be very enthusiastic about it.” -ZeroHedge
Macgregor adds that when you look at how these pipelines were destroyed, it would need to be accomplished by a state with a military arsenal capable of taking them out. Citing reports that more than 500 kg of TNT had been detected in both explosions, the former Pentagon advisor suggested only the United States and British Royal Navy had the capability to pull off the attack.
“Then you have to look at who are the state actors that have the capability to do this.
