Trucking Apocalypse How it Will Soon Impact You

Is America headed towards a trucking apocalypse? While the trucking industry has been struggling to keep the country moving, cyberattacks, global lockdowns, among other setbacks, have not helped the situation.

Learn with us about the problems that are facing this vital part of the supply chain.

Is There a Trucking Apocalypse Threat in America?

Yes. Truckers are more or less the backbone of the supply chain in America. Unfortunately, significant problems are brewing in this vital part of the supply chain that most of us are unaware of.

As an invaluable part of the supply chain, a failure or struggle in the trucking industry will certainly lead to a disruption or collapse in the entire supply chain network. Keep in mind that it doesn’t need a total trucking industry collapse for it to affect almost all aspects of our lives.

Is the Trucking Apocalypse Going to Impact Our Everyday Lives?

Orange and white labeled box | swift trucking news

Yes, the trucking apocalypse will undoubtedly impact your everyday life if it is not already. Manufacturing and delivery systems are already in disarray due to global lockdown cyber attacks, supply chain issues, and shifts in consumer spending.

If these and more variants progress to the trucking industry as we are already seeing, we can only expect further shortages along the way. After trucks stop running, you will notice shortages of almost everything in your grocery stores in just two days, not to mention filling stations running out of fuel in hours.

This will fuel panic buying and ultimately bring the entire system to a halt in just one week.

What Can You Do to Prepare for the Trucking Apocalypse?

In preparation for a supply chain system failure, consider prioritizing your needs over your wants. That is, focus on the essentials you need to survive and forego on wants. Unlike in the recent past years, purchasing home appliances and cars now only puts a strain on the already struggling supply chain.

However, prioritizing basics like water, power, and food puts minimal strain on the economy while better positioning yourself to survive the trucking apocalypse. You separate yourself from millions who go without clean water, food, or power during disasters and hard economic times.

Furthermore, learning as many prepping skills as possible can also come in handy at cushioning yourself during tough times. By becoming more self-sufficient and independent of the system, you can make yourself pickled vegetables or tomato sauces with readily available local produce. This way, you don’t struggle.

What Are the Fueling Factors of the Trucking Apocalypse?

A Shortage in Truck Drivers

With at least 3.5 million truck drivers as per the United States census, truck driving is certainly one of the most popular occupations in the United States. However, the American Trucking Association will need to employ roughly 110,000 new drivers per year for a decade to keep up with demand.

According to statistics, the average age of professional truck drivers is 47 years. With such an age, it only makes sense that this group was impacted by COVID-19 the hardest, which may have led to early retirements.

Similarly, the new COVID-19 vaccine mandates are also likely to push more truck drivers into early retirement. This is according to recent news poll results that showed that a considerable percentage of truck drivers are not willing to take the Corona vaccine.

Government mandates require employers with more than 100 employees to ensure all are vaccinated or adhere to weekly COVID-19 tests. For this reason, we can expect to see more truck drivers sidelined even when consumer demands continue to soar to all-time highs.

Scarcity of Truck Manufacturing and Maintenance Parts

As the world came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 virus, many microchip manufacturing factories closed. This led to months of shortage, especially after people realized how much basic things depended on the microchips.

For instance, global lockdowns called for employees and employers to work from home, leading to an increased demand for home office equipment, all of which require microchips. But that’s not the only thing that is affected by a shortage in microchip productions.

Major car manufacturers have scaled-down production due to the unavailability of microchips used in manufacturing new and servicing existing truck fleets. That’s not all. Increased rubber and steel prices due to shortages have impacted the availability of tires for servicing existing rigs.

Moreover, there have been reports of shortages of engine oil, which makes maintenance of existing fleets quite challenging. Generally, there is a shortage of most vehicle parts which car owners may have noticed. Such setbacks are not helping the situation in the already struggling trucking industry.

At this rate, there will soon be truck drivers with commodities to move but without trucks to facilitate transportation.

Note: Though some steel manufacturers have returned to their pre-pandemic manufacturing levels, the supply is still below demand, with costs tripling.

Natural Disasters

Like everything else, the trucking industry is not spared from the adverse effects of natural disasters. Here, Storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, or other natural phenomena that render roads impassable play a huge role in fueling the trucking apocalypse.

It is important to note that natural disasters are not limited to weather-related calamities only. Pandemics such as COVID-19 also fall under the natural disasters that have played a major role in the trucking apocalypse.

Unlike weather-related disasters, pandemics affect the economy, which translates into a lack of trained personnel, poor maintenance, and repair of existing trucks. This results in shortages of consumer products even when farmers and manufacturers produce in bulk.

The recently experienced hurricane Ida is a great example of how natural disasters strain an already strained supply chain. It caused production to stop in most manufacturing companies along the south and southeastern coast. That means a shortage of those commodities in other areas since trucks can’t access them for distribution.

Note: As a result, increased consumer demand will lead to panic buying straining the supply chain further.

Is There a Solution to the Existing Truck Drivers Shortage?

Blue and red freight truck on road | trucking news driver shortage

A military rescue is one of the possible solutions to resolving the truck drivers shortage that is hitting the supply chain. Therefore, with 19 million veterans in America, where one in ten is an experienced truck driver, solving the driver shortage is certainly within reach.

A waiver enables veteran military drivers with two years of experience to acquire a commercial driver’s license in one of the three classes without taking the skills test. Luckily, this program is in every state and effectively keeps every available truck on the road.

Watch this video by Wendover Productions on why there are now so many shortages:

There you go, preppers. As long as the cost of maintenance parts, drivers’ salaries, and fuel continues to spike, the trucking industry will continue to struggle.

Unfortunately, these high operational costs and shortages will ripple out to consumers if not resolved. The best you can do as a prepper is to prepare and brace yourself for rather tough economic times.

As Global Food Prices Spiral Out Of Control, Panic Buying Of Food Will Become Increasingly Common

Even in the best of years we struggle to feed everyone in the world, and the last two years have definitely not been the best of years.  Global weather patterns have gone completely nuts, major natural disasters are happening with alarming frequency, and the COVID pandemic has played havoc with supply chains all over the world.  As a result, food prices have been absolutely soaring.  In fact, the UN is telling us that global food prices were up 40 percent in the 15 months ending in June…

Global food prices are rising along with many other commodities and constitute a major part of the inflation picture.

According to UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s biannual global food outlook, prices had risen by 40% in the 15 months to June and the trend has continued. That is the largest increase since 2010-11, which students are geopolitical events will know was one of the major triggers of the so called Arab Spring that red to a revolution in Egypt and upheaval elsewhere.

Needless to say, this is going to hurt those at the bottom of the economic food chain the most.

Those that are living on five dollars or less a day simply cannot afford to pay 40 percent more for food.

If food prices continue to escalate rapidly, it is probably inevitable that we will see food riots and widespread civil unrest all around the planet.

I have been relentlessly warning my readers that this was coming, but of course many in the general population didn’t want to listen to such warnings.

But now even the communist government of China is telling people to become preppers.  Prices for some vegetables increased by more than 50 percent during the month of October, and on Monday Chinese citizens were directed to stockpile food for the coming months

The country’s Ministry of Commerce late Monday issued a notice directing local governments to encourage people to stockpile “daily necessities,” including vegetables, oils and poultry, in order to “meet the needs of daily life and emergencies.”

The agency also urged local authorities to make sure that people have an “adequate supply” of essentials this winter into next spring. And it told those authorities to keep prices stable — a source of anxiety in recent weeks, as the cost of vegetables has surged throughout China because of unusually heavy rainfall that has hurt crops.

Have you ever heard of China doing something like this ever before?

Of course not.

And that is because global conditions have fundamentally changed.

If you do not understand this yet, you need to wake up.

Once this directive was issued in China, it caused a massive wave of panic buying in local supermarkets…

The directive was released on the government’s Weibo account, a similar platform to Twitter, stated: “Ministry of Commerce encourages households to stockpile daily necessities as needed.” It had more than 17 million views as of Tuesday. Some netizens were concerned that an impending invasion of Taiwan was the reason for the stockpiling directive.

“As soon as this news came out, all the old people near me went crazy panic buying in the supermarket,” wrote one Weibo user.

Could it be possible that Chinese officials want people to prepare because an invasion of Taiwan is coming soon?

Yes, that is possible, but hopefully we aren’t at that point yet.

I definitely believe that military conflict is approaching, but let us hope that it can be put off for as long as possible.

Here in the United States, we are certainly not ready for a showdown with China over Taiwan, because we have begun the process of kicking large numbers of people out of the military.  For instance, just check out what the Air Force is doing

The Air Force has discharged 40 service members and is now preparing to address the thousands of others who failed to get a coronavirus vaccination before the Nov. 1 deadline officials imposed, becoming the first branch to execute what military leaders consider an essential protective measure but one that critics believe will undermine America’s ability to defend itself.

And now that the OSHA mandate is about to kick in, big corporations all over America are bracing for catastrophic personnel losses.  In certain cases, some companies could lose close to half of their workers

In Wichita, Kansas, nearly half of the roughly 10,000 employees at aircraft companies Textron Inc and Spirit AeroSystems remain unvaccinated against COVID-19, risking their jobs in defiance of a federal mandate, according to a union official.

“We’re going to lose a lot of employees over this,” said Cornell Adams, head of the local Machinists union district. Many workers did not object to the vaccines as such, he said, but were staunchly opposed to what they see as government meddling in personal health decisions.

Why in the world would Joe Biden think that this is a good idea?

Forcing millions of highly qualified Americans out of their jobs in the middle of the most epic worker shortage in U.S. history is an incredibly stupid thing to do.

But Joe Biden is doing it anyway.

Meanwhile, Pfizer is laughing all the way to the bank

Pfizer Inc on Tuesday said it expected 2021 sales of the COVID-19 vaccine it developed with German partner BioNTech SE to reach $36 billion and forecast another $29 billion from the shot in 2022, topping analyst estimates for both years.

The U.S. drugmaker said it is seeking to sign more vaccine deals with countries, which could drive sales even higher next year. It has the capacity to produce 4 billion doses in 2022 and has based its projections on sales of 1.7 billion doses.

Like with so many other things in our society, ultimately this is all about the money.

Looking ahead, governments around the world are going to continue to create, borrow and spend new money at a staggering pace, and that will push worldwide food prices higher.

And the new global energy crisis that has suddenly erupted will also push worldwide food prices higher.

On top of everything else, I expect that a variety of other factors will combine to continue to suppress agricultural production all over the planet.

So that means that for once I actually agree with the Chinese government.

Stock up while you still can, because things are starting to get really crazy out there.

Business Leaders Are Begging Biden Not To Crash The Economy

Is Joe Biden about to apply the finishing blow to the U.S. economy?  If you don’t understand what I am talking about, just keep reading.  Somehow it seems appropriate that “the Grim Creeper” is in charge during the dying days of the U.S. economic system.  The U.S. dollar is being systematically destroyed, there are significant shortages all over the nation, a horrifying global energy crisis has suddenly erupted, and we are facing the most epic shortage of workers in our entire history.  As a result of the worker shortage, thousands upon thousands of very basic tasks that need to get done in order for our economy to run smoothly simply aren’t getting done.  This is one of the reasons why we are now facing the worst supply chain headaches that any of us have ever seen, and it is in this environment that Biden has chosen to deliver the coup de grâce.

As I have discussed previously, Biden’s absurd mandates will force millions upon millions of highly skilled Americans out of their jobs at a time when big companies all over the U.S. are already extremely desperate for workers.  Over the past few weeks, scores of business leaders have been traveling to Washington to beg Biden to at least delay his mandates until after the holiday season

Worried that President Joe Biden’s Covid vaccine mandate for private companies could cause a mass exodus of employees, business groups are pleading with the White House to delay the rule until after the holiday season.

White House officials at the Office of Management and Budget held dozens of meetings with labor unions, industry lobbyists and private individuals last week as the administration conducts its final review of the mandate, which will require businesses with 100 or more employees to ensure they are vaccinated against Covid or tested weekly for the virus. It is estimated to cover roughly two-thirds of the private sector workforce.

But so far the White House has been unmoved.

It is almost as if Biden can’t wait to drop the hammer on the economy.

Needless to say, these mandates will make the unprecedented supply chain crisis that we are currently dealing with far, far worse.  If you doubt this, just consider what the trucking industry is potentially facing

The American Trucking Associations, which will meet with the OMB on Tuesday, warned the administration last week that many drivers will likely quit rather than get vaccinated, further disrupting the national supply chain at time when the industry is already short 80,000 drivers.

The trucking association estimates companies covered by the mandate could lose 37% of drivers through retirements, resignations and workers switching to smaller companies not covered by the requirements.

Okay, so let me get this straight.

We need 80,000 more truck drivers right now, and Biden wants to fire 37 percent of those that we currently have on the roads?

In the past I have written articles about what would happen if America’s trucks stopped running, and we might be on the verge of actually seeing about a third of them suddenly shut down.

If you think that our store shelves are empty now, just wait until that happens.

And the trucking industry is just a small part of the overall picture.  Just imagine what our country would look like if millions upon millions of important workers suddenly vanished from the system.

When I said that Biden was about to deliver a “finishing blow”, I was not kidding.

Over in Europe, they are facing a problem of a different nature.  A severe shortage of magnesium threatens to reach a major crisis point next month, and that could result in millions of jobs being lost

Europe purchases 95% of its magnesium from China, will run out of the industrial metal used to strengthen aluminum by the end of November that could threaten millions of jobs in sectors from automobiles to aerospace to defense and much more, according to Bloomberg.

Three trade groups, including European Aluminium, Eurometaux, and industriAll, warn shipments from China are dwindling quick due to power cuts to energy-intensive magnesium smelters. They said if reserves of the industrial metal aren’t increased in the near term, it may result in trade production shortages, factory closures, and job losses.

Over the years, how many times did I warn that it was foolish to become so dependent on China?

Now Europe is about to learn this lesson the hard way.

So much of the pain that the western world is experiencing now could have been avoided if we would have made different policy decisions when we had the chance.

To a very large degree, our wounds are self-inflicted, and now Biden is going in for the kill.

Once his mandates go into effect, millions of hard working Americans will be ruthlessly fired and suddenly won’t have any paychecks coming in.

Meanwhile, inflation is starting to get out of control and the cost of living is absolutely soaring.  Earlier today, I was horrified to learn that propane prices have skyrocketed to utterly insane levels

Propane prices haven’t been so high heading into winter in a decade, which is bad news for the millions of rural Americans who rely on the fuel to stay warm.

At $1.41 a gallon at the Mont Belvieu trading hub in Texas, on-the-spot prices are about triple those of the past two Octobers. Of the two main U.S. propane futures contracts, one hit a high earlier this month and the other doesn’t have far to climb to eclipse the record it set during the blizzard of 2014. The average residential price tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration has jumped by 50% from a year ago, to $2.69 a gallon.

Unfortunately, propane supplies are supposed to become even tighter in the months ahead.

They keep telling us that this is going to be a “dark winter”, but for many Americans it will be a very cold winter too.

I am doing my best to sound the alarm, and so many of the things that I have warned about are now happening right in front of our eyes.

But most of the population still doesn’t want to believe that things are really this bad.

Most of them are still convinced that better days are just around the corner, and it would be wonderful if they were actually correct.
