A Grand Ayatollah In Iran Just Issued A Fatwa That Designates Donald Trump As An “Enemy Of God”, And That Normally Results In Execution

One of the most important Shiite clerics in the entire world, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi of the Iranian holy city of Qom, has just issued a fatwa which officially declares Donald Trump to be an “enemy of God”.  In Iran, those that are designated to be “enemies of God” under Islamic law are normally executed.  According to an Iranian news source, the reason why Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has issued this fatwa is because Trump threatened Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and other top Iranian leaders…

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has issued a fatwa in which he declares anyone who threatens Leader, and Shia Marja to be the Enemy of God, who has to be fought against according to Islamic teachings.

To those of us living in the western world, labeling someone as an “enemy of God” may not seem like a very big deal.

But in Shia Islam, it is a technical theological term that has very grave implications.

Do you remember the fatwa that was issued against Salman Rushdie?

After that fatwa was issued, Rushdie had to live in hiding for years, but eventually an attacker caught up with him anyway.

Now President Trump is facing a similar threat.  Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi is calling on “all Muslims around the world” to work together to make “the criminal American president” pay for what he has done…

After threats were made by the criminal American president and the leaders of the child-killing Zionist regime against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the senior Shiite clerics known as Marja, a group of believers submitted a request to His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi regarding the duties of Muslims in response to such threats. Grand Ayatollah Makarem response to the question put forward by his followers is as follows:

“Any person or regime that threatens the Leader or Marja (May God forbid) is considered an enemy of God,” Grand Ayatollah Makarem said in his Fatwa, which is a response to the question to him.

The senior Iranian Shia Marja added that “any cooperation or support for that enemy by Muslims or Islamic states is haram or forbidden. It is necessary for all Muslims around the world to make these enemies regret their words and mistakes.”

He also said that if a Muslim who abides by his Muslim duty suffer hardship or loss in their campaign, they will be rewarded a fighter in the way of God, God willing.”

Now that this fatwa has been formally issued, Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and other high ranking Israeli officials are officially considered to be “Mohareb” from this point forward…

I asked Google AI for more information about the term “Mohareb”, and this is what I was told…

In Iran, Mohareb (or Moharebeh) is a term used to describe someone who wages war against God, the state, or who is an enemy of God. It is typically used in the context of Sharia law to refer to individuals who take up arms against the government. The charge is often associated with the death penalty, particularly when applied to those who allegedly use weapons to threaten public security.

Did you catch that last sentence?

Those that are designated as “Mohareb” in Iran are usually executed.

And there are vast numbers of lunatics inside Iran that would be more than willing to carry out such a sentence.

In fact, on Saturday thousands of Iranians that had poured into the streets for a funeral procession were burning U.S. flags and chanting “death to America”

Thousands of enraged Iranians burned the US flag and chanted “death to America” and “Israel” Saturday as the Islamic Republic buried the head of its armed forces and other top commanders who were killed during the 12-day war.

The caskets of about 60 corpses, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp’s chief Generals Hossein Salami and Amir Ali Hajizadeh, were marched through the streets of downtown Tehran for the first public funerals since President Trump helped broker a June 23 cease-fire between the two Middle Eastern countries.

“Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” the crowds screamed as flags of both countries were set ablaze.

It certainly doesn’t sound like they think this is over.

In fact, many are entirely convinced that it is just a matter of time before Iranian sleeper cells inside the U.S. start taking action.

Could this be one of the reasons why large barricades are being put up around the White House and the U.S. Treasury?…

Overnight, construction crews in Washington, D.C. have been observed erecting large anti-scale barricades around the White House and the U.S. Treasury. This unusual activity has sparked widespread speculation among social media users about potential major announcements or events. The Secret Service has not provided an official reason for these enhanced security measures, leading to a mix of concern and curiosity.

Considering everything that just happened in the Middle East, and considering the fact that July 4th is coming up this week, law enforcement authorities from coast to coast are on a high state of alert

Since the announcement of the US airstrikes in Iran last Saturday, major states, such as California and New York, have been on high alert for threats.

Earlier this week, Homeland Security announced it had arrested 11 Iranian nationals who were illegally in the country, including an alleged sniper.

The 11 men were arrested across the country, including from California, Colorado, Maryland, New York, and Texas.

Why haven’t we heard more about this?

It is certainly not normal for an “Iranian sniper” to be arrested.

Was he part of a team that was planning something really big?

As I warned last week, we are a nation that is absolutely teeming with soft targets.  We are far more vulnerable than most people realize, and on major holidays such as July 4th there are large gatherings of people all over the country.

During a recent interview with Greg Hunter, Steve Quayle also warned that our enemies could choose to use “asymmetrical warfare” against us…

Everyone should learn the term ‘asymmetrical warfare.’ This is what you see when you are talking terrorism, refineries blowing up and wildfires being started at a much higher pace than ever before.

If a radical Shiite terrorist dies during a terror attack, that is considered to be a good thing.

In fact, many radical Shiite lunatics are quite eager to get to “paradise” because that will mean having endless pleasure with heavenly virgins.

Yes, this is what they actually believe.  Dan Burmawi recently posted about this on Twitter, and I have included his entire post below because it does such a great job of detailing how these terrorists view the afterlife…

A single intercourse with one of the virgins of paradise will last seventy thousand years.

Islam’s obsession with virgins in paradise isn’t just a minor detail, it’s a central, driving force in its theology of rewards.

The Islamic afterlife isn’t about communion with God, spiritual enlightenment, or divine wisdom, it’s a carnal, male-centered fantasy of unlimited sexual gratification.

Islamic texts describe these women as perpetual virgins, untouched, and designed solely for the pleasure of men.

“Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation. And made them virgins, devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age.” (Quran 56:35-37)

“Fair ones reserved in pavilions. Untouched before by any man or jinn.” (Quran 55:72-74)

Hadith collections affirm that after every act of intercourse, these “virgins” miraculously return to a state of virginity so the process can be repeated endlessly.

These heavenly beings are not just virgins, they are physically exaggerated to fulfill male fantasies:

Large, round breasts:“Indeed, for the pious there is a triumph… full-breasted companions of equal age.” (Quran 78:31-33)

The Arabic term kawa‘ib in 78:33 literally means “firm, swelling breasts.”

Big, lustrous eyes:“They will have maidens with intensely white skin and large black eyes, as if they were hidden pearls.” (Quran 52:20)

Glowing, hairless, smooth skin:“If one of the women of paradise were to appear to the people of the earth, she would fill the space between heaven and earth with light and fragrance.” (Tirmidhi, 2538)

Muhammad explicitly stated that men in paradise will have endless sexual stamina, never experiencing fatigue.

The virgins, in turn, never get tired, never say no, and are always ready for intercourse.

The Prophet was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, do we have sexual intercourse in Paradise?” He replied: “Yes, by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, a man will have sexual intercourse with a hundred virgins in one morning.” (Ibn Majah, 4337)

Another hadith states that men will be given the strength of 100 men in sexual performance. (Tirmidhi, 2536)

According to Al-Suyuti, a famous Islamic scholar:

“The believer will be given such and such strength in paradise for intercourse… A single intercourse with one of the virgins of paradise will last seventy thousand years.” (Al-Suyuti, Al-Haba’ik fi Akhbar al-Mala’ik)

These “virgins” don’t need to poop, pee, or sweat, they exist for one purpose: eternal male pleasure.

“They will neither urinate, defecate, nor suffer from phlegm or mucus. Their sweat will be musk.” (Muslim, 2834)

“They will be hairless except for their eyebrows and eyelashes.” (Tirmidhi, 2536)

A believer doesn’t get just one virgin, he gets dozens, or even hundreds.

“A martyr will have 72 virgins.” (Tirmidhi, 1663)

“The lowest rank of a person in paradise will have 80,000 servants and 72 wives.” (Ibn Majah, 4337)

While men are promised an endless supply of sex slaves, the fate of women in Islam’s paradise is nonexistent or humiliating.

Women in Islamic eschatology exist only for men’s pleasure, nothing else.

While other religions speak of enlightenment, unity with God, or transcendent joy, Islam offers a pornographic fantasy land where men indulge in endless sex, alcohol, and servitude.

What kind of God rewards faithfulness with an eternal orgy?

What kind of religion reduces the afterlife to a hypersexualized playground?

This is not spiritual. This is not divine. This is the theology of a man who designed an afterlife to justify his own sexual obsessions.

And yet, Muslims claim Islam is the most moral and pure religion.

Islam’s paradise is nothing more than a cosmic brothel.

How can you reason with people that actually believe this stuff?

You can’t.

Personally, I am entirely convinced that Islamic terrorists will commit some absolutely horrifying acts of violence on U.S. soil.

But if they do release bioweapons or set off a dirty bomb, we may not ever know who did it.

They may simply unleash death and destruction without taking any responsibility at all.

We have made a very dangerous enemy, and they will remember the events of this month for a very, very long time.

America’s Most Lawless Agency: ICE Is the Prototype for Tyranny

This article was originally published by John W. Whitehead and Nisha Whitehead at The Rutherford Institute.

“Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government’s purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.”—Justice Louis D. Brandeis

While the U.S. wages war abroad—bombing Iran, escalating conflict, and staging a spectacle of power for political gain—a different kind of war is being waged here at home.

This war at home is quieter but no less destructive. The casualties are not in distant deserts or foreign cities. They are our freedoms, our communities, and the Constitution itself.

And the agents of this domestic war? Masked thugs. Unmarked vans. Raids. Roundups.

Detentions without due process. Retaliation against those who dare to question or challenge government authority. People made to disappear into bureaucratic black holes. Fear campaigns target immigrant communities and political dissenters alike. Surveillance weaponized to monitor and suppress lawful activity.

Packaged under the guise of national security—as all power grabs tend to be—this government-sanctioned thuggery masquerading as law and order is the face of the Trump Administration’s so-called war on illegal immigration.

Don’t fall for the propaganda that claims we’re being overrun by criminals or driven into the poorhouse by undocumented immigrants living off welfare.

The real threat to our way of life comes not from outside invaders, but from within: an unelected, unaccountable enforcement agency operating above the law.

President Trump insists that ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is focused on violent criminals, but the facts tell a different story (non-criminal ICE arrests have surged 800% in six months)—and that myth is precisely what enables the erosion of rights for everyone.

By painting enforcement as narrowly targeted, the administration obscures a far broader dragnet that sweeps up legal residents, naturalized citizens, and native-born Americans alike.

What begins with immigrants rarely ends there.

According to the Cato Institute, 65 percent of people taken by ICE had no convictions, and 93 percent had no violent convictions at all.

This isn’t targeted enforcement—it’s indiscriminate purging.

What ICE—an agency that increasingly resembles a modern-day Gestapo—is doing to immigrants today, it can and will do to citizens tomorrow: these are the early warning signs of a system already in motion.

The machinery is in place. The abuses are ongoing. And the constitutional safeguards we rely on are being ignored, dismantled, or bypassed entirely.

When legal residents, naturalized citizens, and native-born Americans are swept up in ICE’s raids, detained without cause, and subjected to treatment that defies every constitutional protection against government overreach, this isn’t about immigration.

It’s not about danger. It’s about power—unchecked and absolute.

This is authoritarianism by design.

Here are just a few examples of how ICE’s reach now extends far beyond a criminal class of undocumented immigrants:

This pattern of abuse is not accidental.

It reflects a deliberate strategy of fear and domination by ICE agents acting like an occupying army, intent on intimidating the population into submission while the Trump Administration redraws the boundaries of the Constitution for all within America’s borders, citizen and immigrant alike.

This is how you dismantle a constitutional republic: not in one dramatic moment, but through the steady erosion of rights, accountability, and the rule of law—first for the marginalized, then for everyone.

When constitutional guarantees become conditional and oversight is systematically evaded, all Americans—regardless of status—stand vulnerable to a regime that governs by fear rather than freedom.

We’ve seen this playbook before.

It’s the same strategy used by fascist regimes to consolidate power—using fear, force, and propaganda to turn public institutions into instruments of oppression.

ICE raids often occur without warrants. Agents frequently detain individuals not charged with any crime. Homes, schools, hospitals, workplaces, and courthouses have all become targets. Agents in plain clothes swarm unsuspecting individuals, arrest them without explanation, and separate families under the pretense of national security. In many cases, masked agents refuse to identify themselves at all, creating a climate of terror where the public cannot distinguish lawful enforcement from lawless abduction.

This is not justice. It is intimidation. And it has become business as usual.

ICE has even begun deputizing local police departments to carry out these raids.

Through an expanded network of partnerships, ICE has turned routine traffic stops into pipelines for deportation. According to The Washington Post, immigrants stopped on the way to volleyball practice, picking up baby formula, or heading to job sites have been detained and, in some cases, sent to a notorious mega-prison in El Salvador.

This is what politicizing and weaponizing local police looks like.

Even members of Congress attempting to exercise constitutional oversight have been turned away from ICE facilities. As The New York Times reported, ICE now claims the authority to “deny a request or otherwise cancel” congressional visits based on vague “operational concerns”—effectively placing its operations beyond democratic scrutiny.

Beyond the high-profile arrests, the abuse runs deeper.

Julio Noriega, a 54-year-old American citizen, was snatched up off the street and detained in Chicago for 10 hours without explanation. Leonardo Garcia Venegas, a U.S.-born citizen, was detained because ICE dismissed his REAL ID as fake. Cary López Alvarado, a pregnant U.S. citizen, was handcuffed and arrested for challenging ICE agents who had followed her fiancé to work. Children, veterans, and immunocompromised individuals have all suffered under ICE’s dragnet.

These are not outliers. They are the product of a system that operates without meaningful checks.

ICE agents are rarely held accountable. Internal investigations are ineffective. Congress has abdicated oversight. Directives from the Trump administration—including those authored by Stephen Miller—have turbocharged deportations and loosened any remaining restraints.

From boots on the ground to bytes in the cloud, ICE’s unchecked power reflects a broader shift toward authoritarianism, fueled by high-tech surveillance, public indifference and minimal judicial oversight. The agency operates a sprawling digital dragnet: facial recognition, license plate readers, cellphone tracking, and partnerships with tech giants like Amazon and Palantir feed massive databases—often without warrants or oversight.

These same tools—hallmarks of a growing surveillance state—are now being quietly repurposed across other federal agencies, setting the stage for an integrated surveillance-policing regime that threatens the constitutional rights of every American.

This isn’t about safety. It’s about control.

These tools aren’t just targeting undocumented immigrants—they’re laying the digital scaffolding for a future in which everyone is watched, scored, and subject to state suspicion.

Quotas over justice. Algorithms over rights.

ICE’s operations have little to do with individualized threat assessments. What drives these raids is not public safety but bureaucratic performance. Field offices are under pressure to meet arrest quotas, creating a system that incentivizes indiscriminate sweeps over focused investigations.

As Jennie Taer writes for the NY Post:

“The Trump administration’s mandate to arrest 3,000 illegal migrants per day is forcing ICE agents to deprioritize going after dangerous criminals and targets with deportation orders, insiders warn. Instead, federal immigration officers are spending more time rounding up people off the streets… Agents are desperate to meet the White House’s high expectations, leading them to leave some dangerous criminal illegal migrants on the streets, and instead look for anyone they can get their hands on at the local Home Depot or bus stop.”

Predictive algorithms and flawed databases replace constitutional suspicion with digital hunches, turning enforcement into a numbers game and transforming communities into statistical targets.

Constitutional safeguards are being replaced by digital suspicion.

We now live in a nation where lawful dissent—especially from immigrants or those perceived as outsiders—can place someone under state suspicion. The line between investigation and persecution has been erased.

Fear needs fuel.

And ICE finds it in propaganda: just as the Gestapo used propaganda to justify its cruelty, ICE relies on the language of fear and division. When the government labels people “invaders,” “animals,” or “thugs,” it strips them of humanity—and strips us of our conscience.

This rhetoric serves to distract and divide. It normalizes abuse. And it ensures that, once targeted, no one is safe.

The construction of a new ICE mega-prison in Florida—nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” for its proposed moat and remote location—serves as a grotesque symbol of the Trump Administration’s mass deportation agenda: out of sight, beyond accountability, and surrounded by literal and bureaucratic barriers to due process.

And Trump’s shifting stance on industries that rely on migrant labor—one moment threatening crackdowns, the next signaling exemptions for hotels, farms, and construction—reveals what this campaign is really about: not security, but political theater.

It’s not about danger; it’s about dominance.

But the crisis isn’t just rhetorical. It’s systemic. Agents are trained to obey, not to question. Immunity shields misconduct. Whistleblowers are punished. Watchdogs are ignored. Courts too often defer to executive power.

This is not law enforcement—it is authoritarian enforcement.

And it’s not limited to immigrants. It’s creeping into every corner of American life.

When a government can detain its own citizens without due process, punish political dissent, and target individuals for what they believe or how they look, it is no longer governed by law. It is governed by fear.

The Constitution was designed to prevent this. But rights are meaningless when no one is held accountable for violating them.

That is why the solution must go beyond the ballot box.

We must dismantle the machinery of oppression that enables ICE to act as judge, jury, and jailer.

Congress must ban warrantless raids, end predictive profiling, and prohibit mass surveillance. It must enforce real oversight and revoke the legal shields that insulate abusive agents from consequences.

We must reassert the rule of law, not just through legislation, but through a cultural recommitment to constitutional values. That includes transparency, demilitarization, and equal protection for all citizens and non-citizens alike.

This is not just a fight over immigration policy. It’s a battle for the soul of our nation.

ICE is not the exception. It is the prototype.

As I make clear in my books Battlefield America: The War on the American People and A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, the same blueprint is being applied across the federal landscape: to protest monitoring, dissent suppression, and data-mined predictive policing.

If we fail to dismantle the ICE model, we normalize it—and risk reproducing it everywhere else.

ICE has become the beta test, perfecting the merger of technology, policing, and executive power that could soon define American governance as a whole.

Make no mistake: when fear becomes law, freedom is the casualty.

If we don’t act soon, we may find that the Constitution is the next to be detained.

James Madison warned that “the accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands… may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

When ICE acts as enforcer, jailer, and judge for the president, those fears are no longer theoretical—they are the daily reality for countless people within U.S. borders.

Where Is The Missing Uranium? – This Is A Question That The Entire World Should Be Asking

This article was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse Blog.

Nobody seems to know what happened to Iran’s enormous stockpile of enriched uranium.  Until we learn the fate of that uranium, I think that it is premature for anyone to be declaring victory.  Of course, now that the ceasefire appears to be holding, everyone is declaring victory.  Israel is declaring victory, Iran is declaring victory, and President Trump is declaring victory.  But what is the truth?

The fate of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium is of utmost importance.  If that stockpile remains intact, it will be a major victory for the Iranians.  But if it has been destroyed, it will be a major victory for the United States and Israel.

Unfortunately, the truth is that what happened to that stockpile is currently unclear

Still unknown is what will happen to Iran’s enriched uranium, the key ingredient for making a nuclear bomb that Iran says it removed from its nuclear sites before the United States attacked.

“Significant nuclear materials remain unaccounted for,” said Kelsey Davenport, the Arms Control Association’s director for nonproliferation policy.

Vice-President J.D. Vance has publicly stated that he thinks that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was buried by the U.S. airstrikes, and he is dismissing concerns that the stockpile could have been moved prior to those airstrikes…

“The goal was to bury the uranium, and I do think the uranium is buried,” Vance said. Of the US, he said the goal of the bombing “was to eliminate the enrichment and eliminate their ability to convert that enriched fuel into a nuclear weapon. We don’t want that 60%-enriched uranium to become 90% enriched uranium. That’s the real concern”.

But Vance insisted it was not a concern that Iran could have moved it and claimed the bombing represented “mission success” because he said Iran no longer had the capacity to turn the stockpile into weapons-grade uranium. “And that was really the goal here,” he said.

But there are some experts that believe that Iran was able to move at least some of the enriched uranium before the airstrikes took place.

Former UN nuclear weapons inspector David Albright is one of those experts

The former UN nuclear weapons inspector David Albright told CNN on Monday there are centrifuges that are “unaccounted for” that must still be dealt with to consider the US mission successful.

“I think that part of the mission has been accomplished,” he said. “Stocks of enriched uranium are one of them. I wish those stocks were buried, but our understanding is that some of them were taken away by Iran, and we don’t know where they are.”

Albright added that the question of the remaining, unaccounted-for centrifuges meant that “this problem isn’t over yet, but it is a manageable problem. Partly because turning that enriched uranium into weapons-grade uranium is not going to be a slow – a fast process”.

And there appears to be evidence that backs up the claim that the Iranians were moving enriched uranium.

A series of satellite images shows 16 trucks lined up outside the underground facility at Fordow just days before that facility was bombed

There are reports Iran may have moved the stockpile, as well as some equipment, days before the attack to a secret location, a claim repeated by Israeli officials to The New York Times.

Satellite images from before the US’ strike showed a line of 16 trucks outside the Fordow nuclear plant, which is built inside a mountain and is considered impervious to most missile attacks, prompting Israel to ask the US to deploy its B-2 ‘Spirit’ bombers and the GBU-37 ‘bunker busters’ bombs early Sunday.

Of course, the enriched uranium is just one part of the equation.

We also need to know if Iran’s underground centrifuges were destroyed by the U.S. airstrikes.

The Trump administration is claiming that they were, but an intelligence assessment that was leaked to CNN claims that they were not…

The US military strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities last weekend did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months, according to an early US intelligence assessment that was described by four people briefed on it.

The assessment, which has not been previously reported, was produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s intelligence arm. It is based on a battle damage assessment conducted by US Central Command in the aftermath of the US strikes, one of the sources said.

Why is there such disagreement between the intelligence assessment and what we are being told publicly?

According to this assessment, Iran’s nuclear program has been set back “maybe a few months”

Two of the people familiar with the assessment said Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was not destroyed. One of the people said the centrifuges are largely “intact.”

“So the (DIA) assessment is that the US set them back maybe a few months, tops,” this person added.

The White House acknowledged the existence of the assessment but said they disagreed with it.

On top of everything else, we are also being told that Iran’s “secret nuclear facilities” were not hit by any airstrikes and “remain operational”

US officials believe Iran also maintains secret nuclear facilities that were not targeted in the strike and remain operational, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

If this assessment is anywhere even close to accurate, we have a major problem on our hands.

The lunatics that run Iran have now been given all the motivation that they need to produce nuclear weapons.

After everything that has just happened, they know that they will not be able to defeat the U.S. and Israel using conventional weapons.

So it would be a shock if they didn’t rush to build nukes.

The entire purpose of negotiations was to get Iran to give up their nuclear program.

Well, that is definitely not going to happen now.

Alarmingly, a top Iranian official has already declared that Iran’s nuclear program is not going to be stopped

On Tuesday the head of Iran’s nuclear energy program vowed that the country will continue its nuclear program uninterrupted, despite the Trump-ordered weekend heavy bombings of three key nuclear and uranium enrichment sites.

AEOI (Atomic Energy Organization of Iran) head Mohammad Eslami said on state television that “plans for restarting [the facilities] have been prepared in advance” and that measures ensuring continued production are in place.

“Despite the evil conspiracies of its enemies,” the AEOI said in the statement, “this organization will not allow the path of development of this national industry to be stopped.”

On the other side, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pledging that Iran will be attacked again if it attempts to fully restore their nuclear program…

“If someone, if someone in Iran tries to restore that program, we will act with the same determination, the same power, to cut off any such attempt,” says Netanyahu.

“I repeat – Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.”

It appears that this story is far from over.

And that is not a good thing for any of us.

The negotiations with Iran were supposed to result in some sort of a resolution.

They didn’t.

This war was supposed to result in some sort of resolution.

That didn’t happen either.

So what comes next?

Car Breakdown Safety Guide: Stay Safe, Stay Ready

While driving, a car breakdown will often catch you off guard. You might be a few blocks from home or way out past city limits when the engine sputters and cuts out. During these moments, simply panicking won’t help. Knowing exactly what to do next is what’s needed in this situation. This guide walks you through the basics: how to prepare for a car breakdown and how to
keep yourself safe until help arrives.

Car Breakdown Safety Guide: What to Pack Ahead of Time

Don’t wait until you’re stranded to think about carrying supplies in your car. Keep an emergency kit that contains these tools:

  • Flashlight
  • First-aid kit
  • Water and snacks
  • Jumper cables
  • Reflective triangles
  • Phone charger (car adapter or power bank)
  • Multi-tool
  • Emergency blanket
  • Poncho or rain jacket
  • Basic map (in case GPS fails)
  • Whistle or signal device
  • Spare medications (if needed)
  • Work gloves

Car Breakdown Safety: What to Do While Waiting for Help

When you get stranded in the middle of nowhere, staying safe until help arrives becomes the priority. Here are the practical steps you can take while waiting for assistance.

Pull Over Safely and Stay Visible

As soon as your car starts losing power or showing signs of trouble, look for a safe place to pull over. Park and stay at a full stop in a spot that gives other vehicles enough room to pass and keeps your car out of the traffic flow.

Once you’re parked, turn your hazard lights on. These flashers tell other drivers that your car is disabled and help warn them from approaching too closely. If it’s dark out, keep your headlights on to stay visible without relying too heavily on your battery.

If you packed reflective triangles or road flares, place them behind your car in clear view. These markers give drivers early warning that a stopped vehicle is ahead, especially in low-light conditions.

Stay Where It’s Safe While You Figure Things Out

Once you’re off the road, pause and take a moment to assess your surroundings. If traffic is heavy or you’re on a narrow shoulder, it’s safest to stay inside the vehicle. Keeping your seatbelt on protects you in case another car swerves or clips your vehicle. Locking your doors adds a layer of security, especially if you’re somewhere unfamiliar.

If you’re in a quiet area with enough space, it may be safe to step out. Just do it from the passenger side to avoid stepping into traffic. Walk around the car to check for obvious issues like a flat tire or leaking fluids. Spotting the problem early can help you decide whether to fix it yourself or call for help right away.

If you’re by yourself, contact a family member or friend as soon as possible. Let them know your location, even if you’ve already called for roadside assistance. That way, someone else knows where you are in case your phone loses signal or battery.

Don’t Try a Fix if You Don’t Know If You Can Handle It

Some car problems are simple to fix, especially if you already handled one before. For example, if you know how to change a tire and the roadside space is safe and wide enough, it’s fine to do it yourself. If the battery’s dead and you packed jumper cables, you may be able to restart the car.

However, if you’re not sure what’s wrong or don’t have enough room to work safely, don’t force anything. Trying to fix something without the right tools or knowledge can make the problem worse. When in doubt, it’s safer to wait and call for roadside assistance.

Call for Help and Stay Put Until It Arrives

Call roadside assistance or a local towing service as soon as you’re safely parked. You can use an AAA app or call your insurance provider, as they can usually send help to your GPS location. Describe your position clearly using mile markers, exit signs, or nearby landmarks so they can reach you without delay.

While waiting, it’s usually safest to stay inside the vehicle. Stand behind or wait behind a guardrail or safe area nearby. Keep your phone on low-power mode to preserve the battery in case you’ll need to call for help. If the weather is cold, use a blanket. If it’s hot, crack the windows slightly to let air move through. Staying alert is more useful than stressing over every detail.

Handling the Bumps Without Losing Control

Car troubles are unpredictable, but they’re manageable if you know how to anticipate common problems and be ready with the solutions. If you stay calm and follow basic safety steps, you can safely get back on track.

Note: These are the only 2 I recommend. Everything else has too many compromises to be considered a top option.

Key Features to Look for in a Manual Firewood Splitter

A good manual firewood splitter should be strong, stable, and safe. Here’s what you should consider before buying:

???? Splitting Mechanism – Hydraulic pump? Slide hammer? Wedge-and-mallet design? Pick one based on your strength and log size needs.

???? Max Log Size – Some splitters handle only small logs for kindling, while others can split thicker, tougher pieces of firewood.

???? Portability – If you need something lightweight for camping or off-grid use, avoid bulky hydraulic models.

???? Durability – Cast iron and hardened steel blades last longer than cheap aluminum or plastic parts.

???? Ease of Use – If your goal is less effort, go for hydraulic splitters or wedge-based designs that don’t require brute force.

How to Use a Manual Firewood Splitter (Without Wrecking Yourself)

Using a manual firewood splitter the right way will keep you safe and make the job much easier. Here’s the step-by-step process:

1. Prep Your Work Area

✔️ Set up on solid, level ground (concrete or packed dirt works best)
✔️ Wear safety gear – gloves, boots, and eye protection (flying wood chips are no joke)
✔️ Stack logs nearby so you don’t have to stop and reload every few minutes

2. Position the Log

✔️ Place the log upright and centered on the splitter
✔️ If using a wedge-style splitter, align it straight over the grain for a clean break

3. Apply Force

✔️ For hydraulic splitters – Pump the handle until the log splits
✔️ For slide hammer splitters – Lift the hammer and slam it down onto the wedge
✔️ For wedge-style splitters – Strike the log with a heavy mallet until it cracks

4. Remove & Repeat

✔️ Clear the split logs away before placing another one
✔️ If a log doesn’t split completely, rotate it and try again

Pro Tip: Don’t rush. Splitting firewood is about technique, not just strength.

Let the tool do the work!

Who Should Get a Manual Firewood Splitter?

A manual firewood splitter isn’t for everyone—but it might be perfect for you if:

You want a safer alternative to an axe – If you’re tired of swinging a maul (or just worried about missing your target), a splitter gives you more control and less risk.

You don’t want to deal with gas-powered machines – Hydraulic and electric splitters are great, but they require maintenance, fuel, or electricity. Manual splitters work anywhere.

You need something portable – If you’re heading to a cabin or off-grid property, a small manual wood splitter is easier to transport than a heavy-duty hydraulic model.

You want to save money – Manual splitters cost a fraction of electric or gas-powered splitters. If you’re only splitting firewood for personal use, a $100–$300 splitter will get the job done without breaking the bank.

❌ However…If you need to split massive logs all winter long, you might want to invest in a powered splitter instead. Manual splitters are fantastic for smaller jobs, but they’ll wear you out if you need to process cords of wood regularly.

Final Thoughts: Should You Get a Manual Firewood Splitter?

So if you love the idea of splitting firewood without gas, electricity, or unnecessary effort, a manual firewood splitter is a smart buy. It’s safer than an axe, cheaper than a power splitter. And far more efficient than splitting logs the old-fashioned way.

???? For small logs and kindling? Go for a wedge-based splitter like the Kindling Cracker.
???? For medium-sized logs? A slide hammer splitter gives you controlled power.
???? For big logs? A hydraulic manual splitter is your best bet.

At the end of the day, the right tool makes all the difference. If you want faster, easier, and safer firewood splitting, a manual wood splitter belongs in your shed.

Now, go forth and split wood like a pro. ????????

Public Health Experts Claim We Should Be Afraid of Bird Flu

Scientists and public health experts continue to be concerned about the highly pathogenic avian influenza (bird flu). They are saying it is something the general public should be afraid of, and worry it’ll become the next pandemic.

This virus typically infects birds, including poultry used for meat and eggs, and there’s a current outbreak that has affected close to 150 million birds. Due to culling policies in the United States and abroad, the bird flu has also devastated farms since 2022. Scientists are also now concerned that they have detected the virus in mammals in recent years—including dairy cows and humans—and learned it can spread between mammals, which significantly raises the outbreak risk. And since 2024, 102 cases of avian flu and 10 deaths have been reported in humans globally, a potentially staggering fatality rate, according to a report by Forbes.

HPAI Bird Flu Continues Its Spread To Mammals

“We have so many tools, but they’re not being used optimally—and they’re not being used optimally by choice,” says Dr. Amesh Adalja, a Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and an expert in global public health. “We can change the trajectory of this if we actually take those best practices, take those tools, and use them optimally.”

Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins’ original plan to combat avian flu included US$100 million in research and vaccine development. But shortly after announcing it, she reversed course and told right-wing site Breitbart that vaccines were “off the table.” Meanwhile, in May, the Trump-Vance Administration cancelled a massive contract with Moderna to develop a vaccination for humans against bird flu, and this month, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired all 17 members of the advisory committee that helps develop vaccine policy and recommendations for the CDC. –Forbes.

“I’m optimistic that they will continue to support the development of these vaccines. It would be a crime right now to stop it,” said Scott Hensley, a virologist at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia who worked on an avian flu vaccine for cattle.

Dr. Amesh Adalja, a Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and an expert in global public health added that If the past year has been a trial run for how the government might respond to the actual emergence of an avian flu pandemic, he says, “we’ve failed this trial run.”

Bird flu has taken a backseat with the mainstream media since before the riots hit Los Angeles, and Israel preemptively struck Iran, igniting what could become World War 3. But is it still a concern? What do you think? Was it all just propaganda and games from the beginning?

The Privacy Paradox that Never Was

This article was originally published by Michael S. Milano at The Mises Institute.

In the serenity that privacy affords, we choose the facets of our lives that we wish to leave untouched by the world. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, in his Olmstead v. United States dissenting opinion, famously described privacy as “the right to be let alone.” But at a deeper level, privacy is a safeguard for liberty. It’s a pillar of decentralized institutions and a foundation of free societies.

For anyone who harbors ideologies that deviate from those deemed “acceptable,” privacy is not merely a luxury but a necessity. For everyone else, it’s worth remembering that norms are shaped by societal and political pressures, and are thus fluid in nature. No one can predict how their earlier beliefs or actions may be judged by a future society or regime. In light of this, the importance of privacy became even more pronounced when surveillance went digital. An inability to operate beyond the watchful eyes of others threatens one’s freedom to speak and associate openly. In the absence of private spaces, fear of retaliation for holding “unacceptable” beliefs breeds chilling effects, leading to self-censorship.

Over two centuries ago, the Founding Fathers recognized privacy’s importance. Although not explicitly protected by the Bill of Rights, privacy is woven into the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments. On the international stage, the UN has declared it a human right. Beyond the confines of legal protections, the desire for privacy is reflected in everyday habits worldwide. Across cultures, people intuitively refrain from total transparency. Whether it’s closing the bathroom door, using blinds and curtains inside their homes, or refusing to hand a stranger their unlocked phone to read their texts and emails, most people choose to shield certain aspects of their lives from public view.

For much of human history, one’s associations, conversations, and transactions were inherently private. Everything changed with the advent of the digital age: surveillance capitalism turned users into products by offering free services, and states broadened their reach under the guise of protecting the populace. Armed with vast amounts of data and ever-improving algorithms, the ability to analyze thoughts and behaviors at scale moved from dystopian fiction to an unsettling reality. With the click of a button, those in power could peer into the deepest recesses of our private lives.

Privacy concerns have been present since the early days of the internet. In 1995, the Pew Research Center found that half of Americans were already worried about computers invading their privacy. As the technology advanced, anxiety over personal data protection continued to grow. By 2020, a Consumer Reports survey revealed that 62 percent of smart product owners in the US were concerned about losing their privacy. A 2023 Harris Poll across multiple countries—Australia, France, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, and the US—found that 75 percent of respondents believed it was important to disguise their digital footprint, and 83 percent expressed a desire to do more to protect their personal information.

Observing behavior, however, paints a different picture. In the nascent days of the internet, entering a credit card number online was perceived as risky. But over the years, social media became ubiquitous, and people grew comfortable sharing anything and everything about their lives online. This trend extends across the broader internet, where privacy is frequently disregarded. Up until 2017, Google scanned emails to serve personalized ads. Now, Google is allowing its AI assistant, Gemini, to do the same for the purpose of generating smart replies. Three-quarters of Americans still use Gmail. As of April 2025, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge together held 71 percent of the global browser market share. Yet both of these browsers are notorious for their privacy infringements. VPN usage on the surface appears to defy this trend, with 46 percent of Americans using one. However, 43 percent of them rely on free versions that may log IP addresses, raising the risk of data harvesting.

The term “privacy paradox” was coined in a 2001 study to describe the divergence between a person’s expressed concerns about privacy and their actual behavior. Despite voicing worries about exposing personal data, individuals continue to engage with platforms and services that compromise their privacy. Researchers across disciplines have explored attitudes toward privacy, from studying willingness to pay for protection to conducting behavioral experiments. While most studies support the privacy paradox, a few have produced conflicting results. Regardless of the extensive research into this phenomenon, from a praxeological perspective, there never could have been a paradox to begin with. Through demonstrated preference, a person’s real-world choices reveal their true valuations, even if their abstract claims suggest otherwise.

Demonstrated Preference & Subjective Value Theory

In praxeological terms, individuals pursue specific ends through purposeful action, utilizing the means at their disposal. To achieve those ends, each individual subjectively ranks goods and services from the most to the least preferred. Demonstrated preference—which extends subjective value theory—is revealed through observable behavior. The choice a person makes is a concrete illustration of their value scale, where the selected good or service is ranked above all alternatives. Unlike hypothetical scenarios posed in questionnaires, demonstrated preference is grounded in real-world behavior. As explained by Murray Rothbard:

The concept of demonstrated preference is simply this: that actual choice reveals, or demonstrates, a man’s preferences; that is, that his preferences are deducible from what he has chosen in action.

Privacy Paradox Revisited

Ask yourself: How much do I value my privacy? How much time and money would I be willing to spend to conceal my personal details from public view? How much do I care about this relative to other things?

Now, imagine that you need to create a new email address. All the email service providers that you’re aware of are ordinarily ranked from the most to the least preferred. If making a highly informed decision is a priority, you have the option of investing time to research and expand your list. The email service that you sign up for will be based on convenience, ease of use, price, privacy, and any other relevant factors. No matter how you answered the above questions about your privacy valuations, in practical terms, your decision represents your demonstrated preference.

The decision is ultimately subjective for each person. It occurs at a singular place and time, using an ordinal ranking that is ephemeral in nature. If a change in circumstances prompts an individual to reassess their previous decisions, they will adjust their rankings in accordance. For example, following egregious breaches of trust, people have become more aware of the risks associated with sacrificing privacy and have altered their behavior. The Cambridge Analytica scandal and Edward Snowden’s revelations led to shifts toward privacy preservation. In the end, there is no paradox—people merely ordinarily rank each service and platform at a single point in time. If a situation arises that prompts a reassessment, they will adjust their rankings, prioritizing goods and services that protect privacy, and act accordingly.

Conclusion

The problem with privacy is that it’s often not appreciated until it is gone. Privacy is essential for everyone, even those who believe their actions are beyond reproach. In the words of Edward Snowden: “Arguing that you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.”

If privacy is a precursor to freedom, and if privacy is indeed a natural right, then it’s imperative that we each protect it through our actions. The ramifications of neglecting it cannot be overstated. In a world where our histories are recorded, holding beliefs or engaging in actions that contradict the prevailing narrative can have severe consequences. Punishments for “unacceptable” views have ranged from deplatforming and debanking to deportations and incarcerations. As civil liberties continue to erode in so-called liberal democracies, dissidents over the past few years have been targeted over issues related to covid, wokeism, the Russo-Ukrainian war, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. No matter where you stand ideologically, there will always be others who find your beliefs abhorrent—and there’s a real possibility that those very individuals could one day seize the reins of power. The next time you use a service that demands deeply personal information, consider the potential ramifications of neglecting your privacy before demonstrating your preference.

Iranian State Media: “There Is A Surprise Tonight That The World Will Remember For Centuries”

Are the Iranians just blowing a lot of hot air, or do they really have a big surprise planned?  With the Iranians, you just never know.  After President Trump threatened the life of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and called for the “unconditional surrender” of Iran, an extremely ominous warning was issued by Iranian state media.  We were told to expect “a surprise tonight that the world will remember for centuries”

Iranian state media has reportedly issued a cryptic and terrifying warning, declaring that “there is a surprise tonight that the world will remember for centuries,” according to a bombshell report from Saudi-based Asharq News.

Details remain scarce, but the ominous tone from Tehran signals a potential escalation that could dwarf anything we’ve seen before.

If the world is going to remember this “surprise” for centuries, it would have to be pretty big.

As I write this article, it is already night over in the Middle East, and so far nothing really dramatic has happened.

But we’ll see.

Maybe the Iranians really do have something in the works.

Meanwhile, the New York Times is telling us that Iran is preparing to retaliate if the U.S. joins Israel’s military operation against Iran…

Iran has prepared missiles and other measures for potential strikes against US forces in the Middle East, The New York Times Reports.

The Iranian military is planning the possible attacks as a retaliatory measure if American forces join Israel’s strikes against Iran, the report says, citing American officials.

I think that the Iranians are desperate to keep the U.S. out of the conflict at this point.

So they are going to make all sorts of threats and hope that something works.

We are also being warned that the Houthis could start attacking ships in the Red Sea again, militias in Iraq and Syria could strike U.S. bases, and the Iranians could close the Strait of Hormuz…

The officials add that, if the US strikes Fordo, a key Iranian nuclear facility, the Iran-linked Houthis in Yemen will likely attack ships in the Red Sea, as they have done before.

Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria will likely attempt to strike American bases in those countries, the officials say.

Iran could also place explosive mines in the Strait of Hormuz, at the entrance to the Persian Gulf, to keep US naval forces inside the gulf, the report says.

The Iranians are scared.

They are losing this conflict badly, and they are being led by an 86-year-old nut that is increasingly isolated because many of his top advisers have already been eliminated

Iran’s 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cuts an increasingly lonely figure.

Khamenei has seen his main military and security advisers killed by Israeli air strikes, leaving major holes in his inner circle and raising the risk of strategic errors, according to five people familiar with his decision-making process.

One of those sources, who regularly attends meetings with Khamenei, described the risk of miscalculation to Iran on issues of defence and internal stability as “extremely dangerous”.

The Iranian regime really is facing an existential crisis.

If the Iranians do possess any special “surprises”, Khamenei might actually use them in a desperate attempt to stay in power.

Just like Joe Biden, it appears that Khamenei is not mentally all there at this stage.

And the fact that the son of Iran’s last shah is calling for an overthrow of the regime is certainly not going to calm his nerves

Reza Pahlavi, the American-based son of Iran’s last shah and longtime critic of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s regime and Islamic Republic is at the point of collapse.

Pahlavi, whose father was overthrown in 1979, called for Iranians to rise up and seize their country in several posts on X.

“The Islamic Republic has come to its end and is collapsing. What has begun is irreversible. The future is bright, and together we will turn the page of history.

“Now is the time to stand up; the time to reclaim Iran. May I be with you soon,” he added.

I think that really big things are about to happen in the Middle East.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just met with his inner circle for about two and a half hours

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been meeting with several ministers and senior defence echelon officials for over two hours, marking it the longest consultation of this kind since the start of the Israel-Iran war.

The consultation ended after about two and a half hours.

What were they talking about for all that time?

I think that we will find out soon enough.

Interestingly, the IDF has just issued a major evacuation warning for a portion of southwestern Tehran…

The IDF instructs residents of District 18 in Tehran to evacuate in a statement posted in Farsi.

The statement warns that Israel is going to take action in the area targeting military infrastructure.

The statement includes a map marking the targeted area in the southwestern part of the city.

We have already seen vast numbers of people flee Tehran, and so hopefully that area of the city has already been cleared out to a very large degree.

When the Israelis issue this kind of advance notice, they aren’t bluffing.

The next 48 hours are going to be crazy.

Buckle up and hold on tight.

Elsewhere, the Russians just conducted a massive bombardment of Kyiv

Hours later, Putin flipped the bird at G7 leaders with what was reportedly the most lethal attack on the Ukrainian capital so far this year. Around 175 drones, 14 cruise missiles, and at least two ballistic missiles struck residential areas in and around the city overnight, Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainians never should have messed around with Russia’s strategic bombers.

Now they are paying a very high price.

It is being reported that a major fire erupted at the Zhulyany airport, and apparently a Patriot air defense system was eliminated

“Last night, Geraniums carried out a group strike on the Zhulyany airport and the town near it. A number of buildings of the aviation institute were reportedly damaged, and a Patriot air defense system was destroyed.

According to preliminary data, the night attack on Kiev was aimed exclusively at military and paramilitary infrastructure, which is confirmed by the geography of the fires, recorded by thermal anomalies.

Most people living in the western world don’t seem to realize it yet, but we are literally watching World War III play out right in front of our eyes.

Sadly, what we have experienced so far is just the beginning.

We really are living in the end times, and global events will become even more nightmarish than they are now.

I would encourage all of my readers to get right with God, because that is what really matters.

Wildfire Smoke Safety Tips: What to Do When the Air Turns Toxic

Wildfires already scorched millions of acres across North America this year. It led to forced evacuations and cast eerie red-orange skies over cities hundreds of miles away. But while the flames dominated the headlines, a quieter, more insidious threat can linger long after the fire moves on: smoke.

Wildfire smoke is more than just an unpleasant haze. It’s a health hazard made up of tiny particles and gases, particularly PM2.5, which stands for fine particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter. These microscopic particles are small enough to slip deep into the lungs and cause serious health problems. The real danger? You don’t have to be near a fire to be affected.

What Makes Wildfire Smoke So Dangerous?

When organic matter like trees, brush, and manmade structures burn, they release a mix of pollutants such as PM2.5, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds. Depending on wind conditions, these pollutants can drift hundreds, even thousands of miles. The farther the smoke travels, the finer the particles become, which makes them even easier to inhale and harder to filter out.

Health experts have linked wildfire smoke to increased emergency room visits, respiratory flare-ups, and cardiovascular events. People with asthma, COPD, heart disease, or diabetes are especially at risk. So are older adults, pregnant women, young children, and outdoor workers. Even healthy individuals may experience symptoms during high-exposure days. That’s why it’s essential to understand how to protect yourself and your family before the next smoke event.

5 Steps to Protect Yourself When the Smoke Rolls In

Even when the flames are far away, the smoke can settle right where you live and turn everyday air into a health hazard. Here’s how to shield yourself and your loved ones from the wildfire smoke.

1. Stay Indoors and Seal Your Shelter

When air quality deteriorates, staying inside becomes your first line of defense. Keep all windows and doors closed. Shut off fresh air intakes from HVAC systems, fireplaces, and bathroom fans that could pull smoky air indoors. If you have air conditioning, run it in recirculate mode to avoid drawing outdoor air into your home.

Designate one room as your “clean room,” ideally a space with few windows and tight seals. This room should be your go-to space during heavy smoke days.

2. Filter the Air You Breathe

Invest in a HEPA air purifier to help clean the air inside your home. These devices can significantly reduce PM2.5 levels when used properly and in the right-sized room. If you don’t have one, a DIY air cleaner made from a box fan and a high-efficiency furnace filter can offer some protection. Just make sure to never leave it running unattended.

Also, avoid creating new pollutants indoors. Don’t burn candles or incense. Refrain from vacuuming, which can stir up particles. And try to avoid frying or broiling food, as these cooking methods can worsen indoor air quality.

3. Mask Up Properly If You Must Go Out

If you absolutely must go outside, protect your lungs. A well-fitted N95, KN95, or P100 respirator is your best option for filtering out harmful fine particles. These masks are designed to seal tightly around your nose and mouth and can block particles as small as 0.3 microns.

Avoid using cloth or surgical masks as they don’t offer reliable protection against wildfire smoke. Similarly, a poorly fitted mask offers a false sense of security and allows dangerous particles to seep in through gaps.

4. Listen to Your Body

Wildfire smoke affects everyone differently. You may feel completely fine one day and struggle to breathe the next. Mild symptoms include coughing, sore throat, irritated eyes, and headaches. But more serious symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, or dizziness require immediate medical attention.

If you have a chronic condition like asthma or heart disease, make sure your medications are current and accessible. Carry your rescue inhaler if prescribed and don’t assume you can “push through it.” Rest and indoor air are your allies.

5. Stay Informed and Plan Ahead

Wildfire smoke conditions can change rapidly with shifts in wind and weather. Use apps like AirNow, SmokeSense, or Canada’s AQHI to monitor real-time air quality and receive alerts for your area. These tools can guide decisions about when to stay indoors, when to open windows briefly, or when it’s safe to travel.

Preparation doesn’t start when you smell smoke. It starts long before that. Stock up on masks, clean your air purifiers, and review your emergency plans regularly.

Final Word: You Can’t Outrun the Smoke, but You Can Outprepare It

Wildfire smoke may not move as fast as fire, but it does reach further and linger longer. And while it doesn’t always bring visible destruction, it can increase health risks.

So stay aware and remain indoors. And remember, the clearer the air inside your home, the stronger your chances of coming through the next wildfire season safe and healthy.

❓Frequently Asked Questions About Wildfire Smoke Safety

  1. What is PM2.5 in wildfire smoke?
PM2.5 refers to fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns. These tiny particles can travel deep into your lungs and even enter your bloodstream, posing serious health risks.
  2. Who is most at risk from wildfire smoke?
Older adults, young children, pregnant women, and individuals with respiratory or heart conditions like asthma, COPD, or heart disease are particularly vulnerable to the effects of smoke.
  3. Can staying indoors really protect me from smoke?
Yes, staying indoors can significantly reduce your exposure—especially if you seal your home properly and use air purification methods to clean the air inside.
  4. What kind of mask should I wear during smoky conditions?
A properly fitted N95, KN95, or P100 respirator offers the best protection against fine particles in wildfire smoke. Cloth and surgical masks do not filter out PM2.5 effectively.
  5. How can I filter the air in my home?
Use a portable HEPA air purifier or create a DIY air cleaner with a box fan and a furnace filter. Avoid activities that worsen indoor air quality, like burning candles or vacuuming.
  6. Should I exercise when the air quality is bad?
No. Physical activity increases how much air—and smoke—you breathe in. Limit exercise and outdoor work until air quality improves.
  7. What are the symptoms of smoke exposure?
Symptoms can include coughing, sore throat, burning eyes, headaches, and shortness of breath. Severe symptoms like chest pain or dizziness require medical attention.
  8. Are pets affected by wildfire smoke?
Yes. Pets can suffer from smoke exposure just like humans. Keep them indoors with plenty of clean water and consult a veterinarian if they show signs of respiratory distress.
  9. How do I know when it’s safe to go outside again?
Use air quality monitoring tools like AirNow, SmokeSense, or AQHI to check local conditions. Wait for a “good” or “moderate” air quality rating before resuming outdoor activities.
  10. Can repeated exposure cause long-term health issues?
Yes. Prolonged exposure to wildfire smoke may increase the risk of chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as weaken your immune system over time.
