Interested In Solar Ovens? You’re In The Right Place!

Best Solar Ovens

First off, I LOVE Solar Ovens!

There’s something incredibly satisfying about cooking a meal with the power of the sun.

Harnessing the power of the sun’s rays to slow cook or grill a meal gives me a welling sense of pride.

I enjoy using human ingenuity to capture a little bit of the sun to put warm food in my belly.

And I like knowing that if the power grid were to go down for a long time, I’d still have a way to cook a meal.

Sure, you could cook a meal using fire, but solar ovens don’t require any “extra” resources.

It’s using the “free,” virtually unlimited, readily available fuel and putting it to good use.

It also makes me feel good to lower my carbon footprint.

That’s why I like to cook some of my meals with the sun, and I bet some of those reasons are why you’re here reading this now.

So today, I’m going to use my Engineering, Design, Gear Testing, Backpacking, and Camping background to share everything I know about solar cooking, specifically:

Best Solar Ovens On The Market Today

Solar ovens are all the rage in both the “environmental sustainability” crowd and the “self-reliance” crowd.

So as you would expect, solar ovens have ballooned in popularity. And while that tends to be a good thing.

There’s a lot of “marketing” out there to wade through to find the best solar oven for you.

So after much research, here are the following solar ovens you should consider buying:

1. Top Recommendation

The All-American Sun Oven

The All-American Sun Oven is the original and has been around for a long time.

They make one of the best solid-frame boxed solar ovens on the market. If you buy one, you won’t be disappointed.

I have a neighbor who owns one, and he absolutely LOVES IT.

He uses it all the time and makes some amazing slow-cooked meals.

I’ve been putting off this purchase for years due to the upfront costs, but it’s still on my wish list, and one day I’ll be a proud owner of one of these devices.

User Review 1:

I preheated the oven in the sun for 45 minutes then baked two delicious loaves of bread. The temperature got up past 350 and the bread cooked in 35 minutes. I misted the top of the loaves with water before putting them in the oven which helped them brown. We are so excited to have the SunOven and look forward to using it often.

User Review 2:

Update: OK, I jumped too fast. I spent time going back over all the information this morning trying to figure out why this solar oven isn’t heating as it should. I didn’t realize that BOTH sun sights must be correctly adjusted, not just one. The manual didn’t make that point very clear, and I read over it multiple times. BOTH sights must be sighted in. I had to raise the oven to the max using the rear adjustable leg to get both sights adjusted correctly. It was in the low 60s late this morning but with full sun. With the sights adjusted correctly the oven reached 350 degrees in a short time. I can live with that.

Pros

  • Solid construction quality
  • Can attain high heats
  • Multi-adjustment options to dial in
  • Made in the USA

Cons

  • Cost vs. other options
  • The main box doesn’t fold down, so it takes up a fair amount of space

SOL COOK All Season Solar Cooker

The SOL Solar Cooker is a newer option to recently hit the market.

It’s both highly portable and can also generate some serious heat. My only concern with this unit is its long-term durability.

I can picture how crushed this thing would get crammed into an overstuffed car trunk.

Other than that, it’s lightweight, gets hot fast, and sells at a fair price.

User Review 1:

Like many, I was astonished at how well this lightweight contraption cooks food. (in February, no less!) It cooks food in the morning, in the evening, in the winter, and at more reasonable times of sunlight too.

User Review 2:

After playing the puzzle game to get it assembled which I understand the complaints about. It was not that easy at all. But once it was together and all the proper places were bent appropriately, which is very important!!!! This thing is amazing actually. It took 1 and 1/2 hours to cook a pork tenderloin.

Pros

  • Can reach optimal max oven temps
  • Surprisingly lightweight and portable
  • A more attractive price vs. other options

Cons

  • Long-term durability concerns
  • Confusing Assembly
  • The bright yellow color may not be to everyone’s liking

SunFocus Hybrid Solar Electric Oven

Want a portable electric oven that’s solar-ready as well?

If so, then this SunFocus might be the solar oven you’ve been dreaming about.

I mean, cooking with solar rays is nice and all on sunny days, but what about rainy days?

Well, with a traditional solar-only oven, your SOL. But not with this hybrid.

Use electricity when it’s available, but use it with the sun when it’s not.

User Review:

I have had 2 solar ovens both with back up electric heat if you lose sun power. This one is the BEST YOU CAN BUY…I give this oven 5 stars. It is worth every dollar.

Pros

  • Only hybrid option (both electric and solar)
  • Very few reviews, so I have less confidence overall
  • It doesn’t break down much, so less portable

Cons

  • Heavy (30 lbs.) compared to other options
  • Most expensive option on this list

MrMapMax Portable Oven Solar

The MrMaxMap Solar Oven has a unique shape to help it cook foods FAST.

For example, it claims it only takes 30 minutes to cook a meal in full sun at a max temperature of 550 Degrees F.

That’s impressive for a unit as portable and compact as this.

It comes in just a little over 11 lbs in total. So it’s not too cumbersome to haul around.

User Review:

…it’s a pretty good unit for a solar cooker that uses zero electricity or fuel of any kind. We keep solar cookers on hand for the aftermath of hurricanes, which can leave one without power for extended periods of time, and we use the solar cookers periodically to keep our solar cooking skills fresh. Besides, it’s kinda fun to serve the family a meal cooked by nothing but sunshine while you went about your business doing other things.

Pros

  • Can reach super high oven temps (550 Degrees F)
  • Acceptable price point vs. other options

Cons

  • The size of meals you can make is limited
  • Harder to clean than other options

5.

Sunflair Mini Portable Solar Oven

If portability and minimalistic are your top priorities, then this Mini SunFlair Solar Oven is your best bet.

I mean, then the entire oven weighs just over 1 lb!

This kit includes:

  • 1 solar oven thermometer
  • 1 trivet
  • One collapsible silicone pot
  • and a handy stuff bag

Just note, this is one of the lower temperatures solar ovens, as it can only reach temperatures of up to 285 F. Of course, temperature varies depending on season and location.

So I think this little Mini Oven is IDEAL for backpacking.

But for car camping or at-home cooking, I’d much prefer the other options.

User Review:

Today at 1:55 pm I threw two eggs (in the shell, no water) in the silicone pot good sun. and set it in the driveway facing the sun. Ambient temperature about 32 degrees, no wind. A little less than 2 hours later, after 2 minor adjustments to face the sun and tilt it forward for the low sun, I decided to check the eggs, with little hope that they were cooked. To my surprise, they were perfectly hard boiled. Not bad for late afternoon in mid-winter. Happy with my purchase, and looking forward to more fun. I’ll probably buy the full sized version soon.

Pros

  • Most portable and lightweight option (by far)
  • Very reasonably priced vs. other options
  • Comes with extras (thermometer, trivet, pot, and bag)

Cons

  • A max temperature lower than other options (~285 F)
  • Slower cook times (due to lower temps)
  • It seems pricy for how tiny it is
  • Meal sizes are limited due to the size of the solar oven

Haines 2.0 SunUp Solar Cooker and Dutch Oven

The Hains 2.2 is a simple but effective solar oven with high user ratings.

It’s quite impressive how minimalistic this design is, yet it produces some serious heat.

And here’s the best part, the small Dutch oven is a part of the kit!

Regarding portability, we’re talking 7 lbs total (including a small Dutch oven).

My only gripe is that you are limited in the size of meals you can make in the small Dutch oven provided.

And swapping a larger Dutch oven could result in drastically different cook times.

User Review 1:

I’m super happy. This oven works exactly as advertised. I bought it for emergency preparedness and to be able to cook in summer without adding heat to our non-conditioned house.

User Review 2:

I’ve also cooked spaghetti using dry spaghetti – again a hot, sunny day with a two hour cook time (spaghetti was perfectly al dente). My third dish was a Cantonese dinner with strips of pork that I did not even brown. I threw it all together (except for the rice) and set it out. This one I started around noon, and had some clouds, so I just left it out until I could see and smell that it was finished. I have no qualms about recommending this solar cooker. It works, it’s fun, and the food is delicious.

Pros

  • It comes with a Dutch oven with an ideal size for setup
  • Reasonable price compared to more expensive options
  • No manufacturer stated max temp

Cons

  • Meal sizes are limited due to the size of small Dutch oven
  • It takes up some serious space when fully deployed

Solar Ovens Utilize The Power Of The Sun

It seems like every day; we’re reminded of the benefits of solar power.

The news is full of stories about solar panels and how they make self-sufficiency a reality for many homeowners.

  • For some, it’s possible to pair panels with batteries to get off the grid entirely.
  • For others, the panels are tapped into the electrical grid to help offset electrical use.

Either way, these large solar systems are expensive and often require a professional installer.

Because you’re dealing with high-voltage electricity – which means DIY is recommended.

But while solar electricity gets the most attention, there are many more ways to harvest the sun.

Example Of A Solar Water Heater

For example, my neighbors in college had a solar hot water heater on the south side of the house.

A series of vacuum tube pipes allowed them to pre-heat the water going into their hot water heater.

This setup cut down how much they spent on their steaming hot showers.

It was a passive solar-heated system with no moving parts or electrical connections.

That simplicity was what I thought of when I started looking into solar ovens and solar cookers.

And even if you have solar panels, you should still look into solar ovens and cookers.

Why? Because converting the sun’s rays into electricity to run an oven is inefficient.

It takes vast sums of the sun’s power to power it long enough to cook a meal.

And while gas and wood stoves are reliable, they require nonrenewal (costly) fuels such as fossil fuels or wood.

A solar oven allows you to cut the cord, pass on fossil fuels AND leave the woodpile behind!

The bottom line is:

Solar ovens make you more self-reliant.

And if you’ve read some of our other articles (such as solar generators, solar phone chargers, and portable solar chargers), you know we love solar for survival, preparedness, and self-reliance!

What Exactly Is A Solar Oven Anyway?

We all eventually get uncomfortable lounging in direct sunlight. In the blazing summer, you can literally “cook” your skin – it’s called a sunburn!

The sun releases vast amounts of energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation.

This radiation includes visible light as well as both infrared and ultraviolet radiation.

In fact, more than half of the solar energy that reaches the Earth comes from infrared radiation.

We feel the infrared waves on our skin as heat – a great example of radiant heat transfer.

What if you could concentrate that hot sun into a smaller space?

If you’re picturing a big magnifying glass, that’s a great example of a simple solar cooker.

From this basic design, solar ovens and cookers branch out into all sorts of unique designs.

But they all have the same purpose:

To concentrate as much infrared radiation as possible into an enclosed, insulated space. Then to trap this building heat to allow for cooking.

Why are we more concerned with infrared waves than visible light?

Well…because of physics.

Infrared waves are FAR more efficient at heating things up.

Clear materials (like glass) allow radiation to pass through but not reflective ones.

Opaque ones absorb infrared light and convert it to thermal energy.

The darker the surface, the more pronounced the effect. So flat black painted cookware can really help with efficiency.

So focusing more infrared radiation on solid foods (or a cooking container) will heat them up faster.

Best Solar Oven Features To Look For

With any gear, there are quality options and cheap options.

So let’s go over some of the best solar oven features you’ll want to look for in your next purchase.

Portability | Weight

Unlike the traditional oven in your kitchen, a solar oven is not a device that sits in one place.

You take it outside on sunny days and bring it back inside when done.

So even if you never intend to take it camping, you’ll still need to haul it around to use it.

So, of course, the lighter, the better, all other things being equal…

But that’s the rub; not all “other things” are equal with different solar ovens.

So you must take all solar oven features into consideration before making a final decision.

Size | Dimensions

You’ll want to know the size of the meals you plan to cook.

For example, you may want to double-check the size of your “slow cooker” cookware.

You’ll definitely want it to fit with ease.

But if you intend to cook with a solar oven on the go, you’ll want something more portable or at least breaks down easily.

Power | Efficiency

With solar ovens, this is where quality differences are most profound.

For solar ovens to work as intended, the devices must do an excellent job of capturing and focusing the solar rays.

Because there’s a large difference between a sloppy DIY solar oven and a quality constructed one, and that difference comes in how much heat the device can generate.

And how much heat it can hold and the temperatures it can maintain over extended periods.

Make sure to read over many user reviews to ensure your new solar oven performance can match your expectations.

Durability

This feature is a bit tricky.

Why? Because some solar ovens are constructed out of wood frames.

While others are made from reflective lined cloth.

With wood, you want your solar oven to be solid and rigid.

With cloth, flexibility is fine as long as it doesn’t rip or tear with use.

So it isn’t easy to compare such two drastically different builds apples to apples.

So I advise you to choose the “type” of solar oven you want and THEN compare the construction specs.

Price

The first time I saw the price of a solar oven, I was floored.

I couldn’t believe such a simple “box” cost several hundred dollars. And while the price seemed “too high,” the reviews for this device were fantastic.

While on the other hand, I found some cheap alternatives, but the reviews were very mixed.

So like most things in the gear space, you tend to get what you pay for; if you go cheap, you may waste your money.

Types Of DIY Solar Ovens (& How To Build Them)

Magnifying Glass

As I said earlier, a magnifying glass can work as a solar cooker.

However, it’s generally pretty small, and it takes a lot of work to focus the light on an object.

I wouldn’t count on heating up much more than a few grains of rice at a time with a handheld magnifying glass.

And by the time you scaled it up large enough to be useful, the lens would be so heavy and bulky it wouldn’t be worth carrying.

Stick to using a magnifying glass instead of a solar cooker as a fire starter.

So pass on this type of solar cooker.

Fresnel Lens

Stepping up from a magnifying glass is a Fresnel lens.

Fresnel lenses are good at directing light.

In fact, they were used for hundreds of years in lighthouses to focus light on ships at sea.

Example Of A Fresnel Lens

Example Of A Fresnel Lens

You can find plenty of Fresnel lenses for sale on Amazon, both in glass and plastic.

While a large Fresnel lens is excellent at focusing solar energy, it does so at a relatively small point. And they are highly sensitive to the angle of sunlight.

This means that a Fresnel lens solar cooker will be efficient, but they need a lot of tending.

I built one with a 24” lens, and it’s compact, lightweight, and durable.

It’s powerful enough to boil a pot of water quickly. But due to the small focus point, it isn’t easy to use in cooking larger items.

However, it can be done with some ingenuity (watch the video below).

↓ DIY Fresnel Lens Solar Cooker ↓

Outside of cooking, it’s also a very capable firestarterand I’ve even used it to melt scrap lead!

Reflector Cooker

Leaving behind lens designs, many people interested in solar cookers turn to reflectors.

Simple reflector solar cookers can be built with flexible solar shields.

Like the reflectors, you see inside the windshield of many cars.

For under $20, you can pick up all the materials necessary to build your own.

These designs can be incredibly lightweight and compact in a pack.

Plus, they’re among the only solar cookers that would travel well on foot.

↓ How To Use A Car Sun Shade To Cook Food ↓

Commercial models that use much more durable materials and improved cooking surfaces are available.

Paired with heat-resistant cookware, these make an excellent solution for solar cooking!

↓ Sunflair Solar Oven Review ↓

Box Cooker

A box cooker can be as simple as a cardboard box lined with aluminum foil.

I’ve seen pizza boxes converted to solar cookers that were effective and super cheap.

It won’t fry an egg but can hit slow cooker temperatures.

If you want something more efficient, check out the Sun Oven.

The solid wood box is well insulated, with a dark-painted interior to absorb heat and a clear top to trap it inside.

The side panel mirrors focus more energy into the box, allowing it to hit 200-300deg easily.

I haven’t had a chance to use one of these, but I think I might build one this winter for use on camping trips next summer.

The plans look straightforward and easy to follow.

↓ DIY Homemade Solar Oven – Super Hot ↓

If you’re not into DIY, go with a Sun Oven.

It features an efficient reflector and aiming system.

This helps to concentrate all available solar energy into the solar cooker.

They can reach temperatures that rival your standard in-home oven.

So they’re capable of baking loaves of bread and cooking meats.

Parabolic Mirror

A parabolic mirror reflects light off a curved surface and back to a focus point in the middle.

Their shape is like a satellite dish or an umbrella.

Both of those items can serve as the base to build a parabolic mirror cooker.

Like a Fresnel lens, a parabolic mirror focuses its energy on a tiny spot.

This can make cooking larger items difficult.

However, it’s much less sensitive to sun angle, making it a more hands-off design than the other lenses.

Parabolic mirrors come in all kinds of materials and sizes.

You can even build your own with a few things out of your survival cache now!

As with all solar cookers, size matters, and a larger mirror will collect more energy and cook faster.

Some segmented parabolic mirrors provide a reflective surface several feet in diameter.

These mirrors are hard to DIY since the shape is crucial to focusing energy on the cooking pot.

Unless, of course, your neighbor tosses out their old 5-foot-wide satellite dish!

If so, snag it and get to work.

↓ DIY Parabolic Solar Cooker ↓

Parabolic Trough Cooker

A parabolic trough uses the same curved reflective surface as a circular parabolic mirror.

But, it stretches that surface out along one axis into a long channel.

Instead of a single focal point, this creates a long line of focused energy.

If you align the trough with the sun’s path, the light can be focused for hours without maintenance.

This hands-off time can free up resources and make dinner prep much easier.

Like other parabolic mirrors, these are a much more challenging DIY build.

Instead, look at purchasing something like the GoSun Portable Solar Cooker.

This stove has a vacuum tube cooking chamber providing a near-perfect layer of insulation, keeping the heat in and cold out.

Perfect for cooking with small children while keeping the kitchen cool during the summer.

↓ Insane Solar Cooking With The GoSun Stove ↓

So Which Solar Oven Is The Best?

“Best” is a very subjective word since each type has its own pros and cons.

It also depends on what you’re looking for.

Some solar ovens are easier to build (like the reflective oven or box oven) – while the parabolic trough cooker is not very DIY-friendly.

Also, are you planning to travel with it? If so, the solar dish parabolic cooker is not a good option…

Here’s a good comparison video to watch from Tiny House Giant Journey that may help you decide:

Are Solar Ovens Worth The Investment?

Clearly, solar cookers and ovens have some limitations.

As with any solar system, they depend on bright, direct sunlight to be effective.

This limits your cooking to daylight hours and decent weather.

Solar cooking is often slower than other cooking methods.

This means you may have to be in camp for longer and plan your day around the timing of cooking tasks.

Due to the size of the cooking vessel, it may also be challenging to cook for a large group.

A clean, fuel-less cooking system has many benefits if you can work with these limitations.

It’s silent, generates no smoke or soot, and can run as long as you have sunlight.

A lightweight solar cooker can often weigh less than a comparable traditional stove.

Plus, it doesn’t need heavy, costly fuel.

While I wouldn’t likely make it my primary cooking system in the cloudy Pacific Northwest.

I’ve certainly come to enjoy using my Fresnel lens solar cooker.

And I plan to build and experiment with other designs in the future.

    Let’s Talk About Yevgeny Prigozhin…

When Yevgeny Prigozhin launched his short-lived rebellion, many in the western media were describing it as a “coup”.  But the truth is that Prigozhin did not intend to try to overthrow Vladimir Putin.  He just wanted his seat at the table back.  Being in Vladimir Putin’s good graces had turned Prigozhin into an exceedingly wealthy man over the years, but now everything was changing.  Prigozhin was in danger of losing everything that he had worked to build, and the final straw was a decision to break up the Wagner Group and absorb those troops into the Russian military.  Prigozhin realized that he was being sidelined, and so in a desperate attempt to get some leverage he hatched an ill-fated plan to kidnap Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and General Valery Gerasimov.  Unfortunately for Prigozhin, they learned of his scheme in advance, and their travel plans were changed.  When he realized that his scheme had failed, Prigozhin was willing to make a deal, because ultimately he didn’t want to see his fighters slaughtered in a pointless conflict.

Before becoming world famous as the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin was making tremendous amounts of money as a caterer.

He had been given extremely lucrative contracts to provide food for the Moscow school system and for Russian military bases, and that gave him a position among Russia’s elite.

Of course running the Wagner Group has been a tremendous source of wealth for Prigozhin as well.  In fact, his two businesses had combined to bring in nearly 2 billion dollars in revenue over the past year…

President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday the finances of Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin’s catering firm would be investigated after his mutiny, saying Wagner and its founder had received almost $2 billion from Russia in the past year.

Unfortunately for Prigozhin, in recent months he started to fall out of favor.

He had been recruiting fighters for the Wagner Group in prisons all over Russia, but the government put a stop to that.

Now the Russian military is recruiting in those prisons, and that absolutely infuriated Prigozhin.

Another thing that greatly upset Prigozhin was when his good friend General Sergei Surovikin was replaced as the top commander of operations in Ukraine by General Valery Gerasimov.

Prigozhin always had a lot of respect for Surovikin, but he utterly detests Gerasimov.

Since then, tensions between Prigozhin and Russian military brass just continued to rise, and that led to a fateful decision on June 10th.

On that date, it was announced that all soldiers in the Wagner Group would be required to sign a contact with the Russian military by July 1st.

Essentially, the plan was for the Wagner Group to be absorbed and Prigozhin realized that he would be losing his private army.

He appealed to Putin, but Putin sided with the military brass.

That was the final straw for Prigozhin, and so he hatched a plan to kidnap Gerasimov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in a desperate attempt to get some leverage on Putin.

But as CNN has explained, news of Prigozhin’s ill-fated plan got out ahead of time…

Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin planned to seize two top Russian military officials when he launched a short-lived mutiny on Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing Western officials.

Prigozhin’s plot involved the capture of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and top army general Valery Gerasimov when the pair visited a region along the border of Ukraine, the WSJ wrote.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) learned of the plot two days before it was due to take place, forcing Prigozhin to change his plans at the last minute and launch a march towards Moscow instead, according to the report.

Prigozhin quickly realized that he was holding a losing hand, and he clearly understood that if he continued his rebellion he would soon end up dead.

So he made the best deal that he could under the circumstances.

But that certainly isn’t what leaders in the western world were hoping for.  They were hoping that Prigozhin’s rebellion would spark an uprising that would lead to the overthrow of Vladimir Putin.  Of course the truth is that was never what Prigozhin intended

“Prigozhin’s rebellion wasn’t a bid for power or an attempt to overtake the Kremlin,” Tatyana Stanovaya, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center, wrote in an analysis of the events. “It arose from a sense of desperation; Prigozhin was forced out of Ukraine and found himself unable to sustain Wagner the way he did before, while the state machinery was turning against him.”

Most Americans don’t realize this, but Vladimir Putin is far, far more popular inside Russia than Joe Biden is in the United States.

There isn’t going to be any sort of a popular uprising against Putin because most of the population is solidly behind him.

And most Russians are not against the war in Ukraine either.  If anything, most Russians want Putin to take the gloves off and start hitting Ukraine much harder.

But you aren’t going to hear any of this from politicians in the western world.

They are going to use Prigozhin’s rebellion as evidence that what they are doing is working.  In fact, earlier this week Joe Biden boldly declared that Putin “is clearly losing the war in Iraq”.

    Yes, he actually said that.

Needless to say, he actually meant that Putin is losing the war in Ukraine.

But that is not actually accurate either.

Over the past several weeks, the Ukrainians have lost hundreds of vehicles and thousands upon thousands of men in a very foolish counter-offensive that has basically accomplished nothing.

The Russians are quite content to fight a war of attrition right now, because they believe that time is on their side.

Sadly, the reality of the matter is that time is running out for all of us.

Both sides just continue to escalate matters, and that will eventually result in the United States and Russia fighting one another directly.

We should be trying to avoid such a scenario at all costs, because such a conflict would almost certainly lead to nuclear war.

Once nukes start flying, millions of people are going to die.

But there are no peace marches in major U.S. cities right now, and that is because the American people simply do not understand what we are facing.

Yes, The U.S. Economy Continues To Move In The Wrong Direction…

Despite so much evidence to the contrary, the Biden administration continues to insist that the U.S. economy is on the right track.  But is that really true?  Thanks to the Federal Reserve, interest rates are now much higher and the money supply has been contracting at the fastest pace since the Great Depression.  As a result, large companies have been conducting mass layoffs, the housing bubble is imploding, and economic activity is rapidly slowing down all over the nation.  But if you ask Joe Biden and his minions, what we are witnessing is all part of the plan.  In fact, they continue to speak of “Bidenomics” as if it is a good thing

Monday’s announcement is part of Biden’s greater push for his economic plan dubbed ‘Bidenomics,’ which ‘is rooted in the simple idea that we need to grow the economy from the middle out and the bottom up – not the top down,’ Dunn and Donilon wrote.

The president’s economic proposal includes plans to hike taxes on the uber-wealthy and corporations in order to subsidize social, climate and health programs.

    Give me a break.

I’m not buying what they are selling, and most other Americans aren’t either.  According to one recent survey, well over half of all Americans disapprove of how Biden has been handling the economy…

More than half – 54% – of Americans disapprove of how Biden is handing his job, while just 35% of respondents approved of his stewardship of the economy, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted earlier this month.

Those figures are a bad sign for Biden and his fellow Democrats.

Of course Biden is not responsible for the stunning reversal in money supply growth that we have been witnessing.

The money supply has been steadily shrinking since late last year, and during the month of April it actually contracted at the fastest pace that we have seen since the Great Depression

During April 2023, the downturn accelerated even more as YOY growth in the money supply was at –12.0 percent. That’s down from March’s rate of –9.75 percent, and was far below April’s 2022’s rate of 6.6 percent. With negative growth now falling near or below –10 percent for the second month in a row, money-supply contraction is the largest we’ve seen since the Great Depression. Prior to March and April of this year, at no other point for at least sixty years has the money supply fallen by more than 6 percent (YoY) in any month.

It is important to understand that the economy does not immediately respond to a change in the money supply.

    There is a lag.

In other words, it takes time for the effects to filter through the entire system.

But we are already starting to see some very troubling signs.  As I have been documenting in recent weeks, large companies have been conducting mass layoffs all over the country.  Just a few days ago, Ford added their name to the list

Ford Motor Co. is planning to lay off a minimum of “several hundred” salaried employees, starting as soon as next week, the Detroit Free Press has learned.

The action will be limited to white-collar workers in North America, perhaps just the U.S.

And we are starting to see initial claims for jobless benefits move higher.  In fact, Zero Hedge is reporting that we just saw the highest number in almost two years…

264,000 Americans filed for jobless benefits for the first time last week – the highest number since October 2021…

California, New Jersey, and Connecticut saw the largest jump in initial claims as perhaps the tech layoffs are starting to register (as severance packages run dry)…

Meanwhile, U.S. home prices continue to fall as Housing Bubble 2.0 continues to implode.  The following comes from CNN

US home prices fell in May at the largest annual rate in more than a decade, according to a National Association of Realtors report released Thursday.

The median existing home price was $396,100 last month, down 3.1% from a year ago, marking the largest year-over-year price reduction since December 2011.

    But don’t worry.

Joe Biden says that everything is going to be okay.

    You believe him, don’t you?

The commercial real estate crisis also continues to grow.  According to the Daily Mail, experts are calling it “a debt timebomb” that has the potential to absolutely devastate our financial system…

Commercial real estate has become a debt timebomb, experts have warned, as office towers remain empty in once-bustling cities.

The new era of remote work means ‘zombie’ workspaces remain vacant – while higher interest rates make it more expensive to buy or refinance buildings.

Of course the overall economy is steadily deteriorating, and it has been for quite some time.

At this point, the Conference Board’s index of leading economic indicators has now fallen for 14 months in a row.

And it isn’t just the U.S. that is slowing down.  According to Yahoo News, the Chinese economy is also “losing momentum”

China’s consumer-driven recovery is showing more signs of losing momentum as spending slows on everything from holiday travel to cars and homes, adding to expectations for more stimulus to support the economy.

Domestic travel spending during the recent holiday for the dragon-boat festival was lower than pre-pandemic levels, according to official data released this weekend. Home sales figures are below the level in previous years, while estimates for June car sales showed a drop from a year ago.

So what does all of this mean?

What it means is that we are clearly moving in the wrong direction.

The American people clearly understand this, and that is why Joe Biden’s poll numbers are so dismal.

But we should be thankful for one thing.

Economic conditions are still at least somewhat relatively stable, but the current state of affairs will not last indefinitely.

Much bigger problems are on the horizon.

So enjoy these troubled times while you can, because it won’t be too long before this economic crisis becomes far more severe.

Suppressor Bans, Sharks & Lightning in a World Gone Mad

    @media (max-width:576px) { .read-more-content { height: 300em; } }

Who here is afraid of being attacked by a shark while swimming in a freshwater lake in Mississippi? I freely admit that I am. The movie JAWS came out in 1975 when I was 9 years old. That film just struck a visceral chord. As a kid, I often spent weekends out at Desoto Lake, a big placid oxbow connected to the Mississippi River by a thin ribbon of water. After seeing JAWS I could no longer swim there.

    Suppressor Bans, Sharks & Lightning

The reason was that, technically speaking, those enormous gosh-awful sharks could get from the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia, around the Horn of Africa, across the Atlantic, through the Gulf of Mexico, up the Mississippi River, and into Desoto Lake without hailing an Uber or spontaneously sprouting legs. I actually fear sharks in freshwater lakes because, in that one single aspect of my life, I am a neurotic idiot.

Sensible people don’t fear sharks in freshwater lakes. Only crazy people do that. While that really is the only aspect of my life wherein I am a certifiable nutjob, apparently a substantial percentage of the Democratic members of Congress are comparably afflicted. I just saw their press release, and it made me dumber just reading it.

Shooting silencers on the range at Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous.

    The Hallucinated Problem

They call it the HEAR Act. HEAR inexplicably stands for Help Empower Americans to Respond. Here’s the press release. The simple act of reading it will cost you half a dozen IQ points. I apologize in advance about that.

The gist is that Senator Bob Menendez and fifteen co-sponsors want to pass legislation that uses government money to “buyback” our legally-purchased sound suppressors. There are currently more than three million suppressors in the NFRTR (National Firearms Registry and Transfer Record). Senator Bob Menendez will graciously give us 90 days to sell our suppressors to Uncle Sam, after which we automatically become felons. This would all be fairly easy to enforce because back in 1934 “We the People” stupidly allowed the government to create a database of suppressor owners in the first place. There is naturally an exception carved out for agents of the government, because possessing a laminated government card somehow makes a person more morally laudable than a basic normal citizen.

Forget for a moment that you really cannot buy something back that never belonged to you in the first place. What might prompt sixteen presumably intelligent, duly-elected representatives of the people to go to all this trouble? Well, the press release addresses that as well. They cite five examples.

    Smoking Guns, er, Suppressors?

In 2011 a man shot a coworker in Toledo, Ohio. Nobody noticed, so the cops “surmised” that he must have been using a sound suppressor. I Googled it–ballistics analysis failed to make a definitive connection to a suppressed weapon.

Two years later a deranged lunatic police officer in California used a suppressed firearm to kill three people. In 2017 the cops arrested some dude in Jacksonville, Florida, for “planning to shoot up” an Islamic center. He possessed an illegal suppressor sold to him by an undercover detective. I do love me some cops, but these are the same guys who are still allowed to possess suppressors per the proposed legislation.

    Rugged Suppressors.

In 2019, a disgruntled employee with a sound-suppressed .45-caliber pistol murdered a dozen people in a government building in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Lastly, in January of this year some psychopath in Monterey Park, California, used a homemade suppressor that was already illegal on an otherwise illegal M11/9 pistol to kill 11 innocent people at a dance hall. That guy was disarmed when an incredibly brave young man just snatched the gun out of his hands.

The point is that, in all these cases, the shooters were already egregiously violating the law. Only in the Virginia Beach case might the proposed legislation have had any even theoretical impact on the crime. So here we one verifiable criminal usage of a registered sound-suppressed weapon by a normal citizen in the past 12 years. What other theoretically preventable deaths have occurred in roughly the same timeframe?

    It’s a Scary World…

During that same period we lost 5.7 million Americans to cigarettes along with another 1.68 million to alcohol. 2,167 people succumbed to constipation. 1,413 people died after having fallen out of trees. 951 people were killed by lawnmowers. In that same dozen years 338 Americans died from lightning strikes and more than 600 people were legit bitten by sharks. And we want to criminalize the ownership of three million legally-registered sound suppressors because of the actions of a single deranged criminal in Virginia?

Sound suppressors aren’t even weapons. You’d be more dangerous armed with a baseball bat. Anyone who has ever fired a sound-suppressed weapon will attest that actual silencers are not real. A sound suppressor just helps protect your hearing and makes you a more neighborly shooter. For goodness sake, you can purchase rimfire suppressors unrestricted and over the counter in France–arguably the least manly country in the world.

Suppressors reduce sound signature and protect hearing for shooters.

Don’t Take My Word For It…

Our job is to advocate for suppressors, so everything we say is going to be inherently biased. The good news is, you don’t have to take our word for it because the science and the facts are in. That’s why the experts from the CDC, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the National Hearing Conservation Association, and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology all support the use of suppressors as a method to mitigate preventable hearing damage.

Do suppressors make guns silent? Absolutely not. In fact, suppressed gunshots are still loud enough that all four of the aforementioned independent (i.e. non-biased) organizations recommend using traditional hearing protection while shooting suppressed. It’s kind of like putting on a seatbelt even though your car has airbags – the more layers of protection, the safer you will be.

Which brings us to a serious unanswered question: if suppressed gunshots are still loud enough that, according to the experts, you should still wear hearing protection, how could they possibly be quiet enough to pose a threat to public safety?

The HEAR Act isn’t about safety; it’s about control. If Senator Menendez and his anti-gun colleagues took the time to listen to the experts, they would know that. But instead, they will continue to push their propaganda ad nauseam because their political dogma reads something like this: never let facts get in the way of a good story.

    American Suppressor Association

    Ruminations

    Shooting the SilencerCo Omega 36M.

It would appear at least sixteen Democratic members of the US Congress are certifiably insane. If your holy crusade is outlawing sound suppressors in America, the third-most, well-behaved gun-related thing after machine guns and bipods, you clearly need some proper problems. Sound suppressors are not and never have been statistically significant contributors to crime in America. They should be sold out of vending machines in high school cafeterias for all the practical harm they create.

The elephant in the room is that these sixteen legislators seem incapable of grasping what happens when some of the owners of those more than three million registered sound suppressors choose not to sell their property to Uncle Sam. We’re on the cusp of figuring that out with pistol braces as I type these words. Are you going to send my BATF buddies to kick in their doors when people choose not to comply with your delusional new laws? Now which course of action actually results in the most harm?

And therein lies the rub. These people are not rational. They appear to be incapable of assessing the world around them and creating cogent policies. That would be fine were they simply flipping burgers someplace or institutionalized. However, they aren’t. These rocket surgeons are actually making the rules. So you’d best get out and vote. Otherwise we gun owners are going to wake up one day and will every one of us be felons.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul blasts Bill Gates for being the BIGGEST FUNDER of disease outbreaks

This article was originally published by Ramon Tomey at Natural News.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) blasted technocrat globalist Bill Gates for his obsession with funding research into deadly viruses. Such endeavors led directly to the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he added.

“Gates is the largest funder of trying to find these viruses in remote caves and bring them to big cities,” he told Maria Bartiromo, host of “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News, during a June 18 appearance.

“So what happened in China is they went eight to 10 hours south of Wuhan, 200 to 300 feet deep into a cave, found viruses, and took them back to a city of 15 million.”

According to the Kentucky senator, this endeavor part of gain-of-function research “has largely been funded by Gates.” He added: “I think he’s inadvertently helped to create something that the biggest danger to mankind right now is something that he’s been funding. So there’s a responsibility there.”

Paul further remarked that he wasn’t the only one opposing the Microsoft co-founder’s decision to bankroll dangerous gain-of-function research. He continued “There are many, many scientists who think that Gates is wrong in funding this.”

“We don’t need to be searching for viruses that may never interact with man. It’s worse than that. They bring viruses that we may never interact with … back to the lab. But then, they manipulate them by combining them with other viruses to create viruses that don’t exist in nature.”

The senator’s comments came amid a revelation by independent journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag regarding the first individuals infected by COVID-19. A June 14 article penned by the three revealed that three scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology – Ben Hu, Yu Ping, and Yan Zhu – had been infected by SARS-CoV-2 since the fall of 2019.

“One of them, the one they think that was the first scientist to get sick … was one of [those involved in] creating these new viruses, viruses not found in nature,” Paul said. “This is the gain of function research, and so this essentially closes the deal.” (Related: Sen. Rand Paul: COVID lab leak among the greatest coverups in modern medical history.)

Paul calls for a US-led consortium to restrict gain-of-function research

The lawmaker for the Bluegrass State told Bartiromo: “What I’m going to try to pursue now is, whoever revealed this if there’s documentation of this, it’s all supposed to be declassified. That legislation passed unanimously. If we can get those records, and actually put it out there for all the public to see that the first person that got sick was a scientist in the lab, then it’s a done deal.”

“We know it came from the lab, and everybody can just admit it, but then we can move to the reform. We shouldn’t be funding this kind of research in China, but we also shouldn’t be funding this kind of research in the United States.”

Paul emphasized the need to restrict gain-of-function research, adding that the U.S. and an international consortium should “voluntarily agree to restrict this.” According to the senator, the possibility of another man-made virus-like SARS-CoV-2 leaking from a laboratory could kill off between five and 50 percent of the world’s population.

“This is very, very serious. This is up there with nuclear arms control … [and] the danger of nuclear war. But this is much more insidious,” he concluded.

Research Funded By Fauci And Gates Could See Bird Flu Become The Next Deadly Pandemic

All COVID Infections At A Health Conference Were In Double Vaccinated

Every single human being that tested positive for COVID-19 at a health conference in Germany had had at least two doses of the COVID “vaccine.” After the conference, 109, or 14 percent of attendees, tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a report by The Epoch Times, approximately 4,462 people attended the conference in Berlin in the fall of 2022. Just 1,355 filled out a survey and only about half of those were tested after the conference, researchers said in the new paper, published on June 13 by JAMA Network Open, a journal from the American Medical Association.

In comparison, of the people who filled out the survey and tested negative after the conference, 98 percent were vaccinated and 62.5 percent had proven prior COVID-19 positive test. Although a positive test means very little:

The CDC ADMITS: PCR Tests CANNOT Differentiate Between Coronaviruses!

In comparison, of the people who filled out the survey and tested negative after the conference, 98 percent were vaccinated and 62.5 percent had proven prior positive COVID-19 test.

That means that a person’s vaccination status “was not associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection during the congress,” Dr. Alaa Din Abdin of Saarland University Medical Center UKS and the other authors wrote. SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19.

On the other hand, prior infection was “significantly associated” with testing negative, and staying in private accommodation versus a hotel was associated with a higher infection rate.

The conference in question was the 122nd Annual Congress of the German Society of Ophthalmology. It took place from September 28 to October 2, 2022. People attended the conference in person for the first time in three years. –The Epoch Times

Researchers claim the higher rate of infection can be blamed on Omicron. “This higher rate could be because the congress took place during the Omicron surge, which was locally and temporally different compared with the variants in other studies,” they said, adding later that “the Omicron variant had a much higher transmission rate and lower vaccine efficacy due to immune escape of the new subtype.”

A survey of attendees of a different conference, hosted in the United States by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), found recently that all the people who responded and tested positive had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Ten of the in-person respondents, all of whom were vaccinated and had received a booster, said they tested positive for COVID-19 within a week of the conference. Seven had to miss work and four developed symptoms, but none were hospitalized.

    Compact Horse Trailers

A horse trailer conversion setup is more on the budget side.

But still a solid option for anyone looking for a quick getaway.

They are not originally intended for human occupancy.

As the name implies, these trailers carry horses, so don’t expect a luxury RV.

With that said, it’s impressive what this guy was able to do with his old horse trailer.

    ↓ Horse Trailer Conversion ↓

This setup took time and skills, but it shows what’s possible.

    Moving Trailers

Like a horse trailer, a moving trailer takes some work to make it feel like home.

Here’s a prime example of turning a simple cargo trailer into a legit bug-out trailer.

    ↓ Cargo Trailer Camper 5X8 ↓

The off-grid capabilities, gear storage, and bed make this setup so sweet.

Now the downside is this trailer won’t survive the harshest off-road environments.

But if you have a bug out location in mind that doesn’t include rock crawling, you may get away with this simple, budget-friendly rig.

    Customizing Your Survival Trailer/Vehicle

The best part about owning your own survival trailer is you can do whatever you want to it.

You can paint it whatever color you like and fill it with what you feel is necessary.

But before you go adding flame decals and installing external speaker systems, let’s talk about your custom survival trailer options:

    Color

This is the first thing anyone buying a trailer for survival should consider.

Most trailers come in cream, white, or metallic colors that don’t blend into the natural environment.

I’m not suggesting you paint it in camouflage colors and patterns as soon as you get it.

But consider a coat of something dark or earth-toned.

Forest green, black, gray, brown – anything but bright colors and patterns that stick out.

Another great option is to get some good camouflage netting.

This stuff helps your rig blend in with the surroundings in most forest settings.

    Interior Design

Do not be afraid to put shelves where you want, and add bunks or cots, storage boxes, or even windows in your trailer.

However, don’t go so far that you compromise the structural integrity of your trailer; otherwise, have at it.

Make your survival trailer the perfect storage/shelter facility for you.

If you have equipment that requires custom storage, plan it out and build it.

If things get bad, this trailer may become your permanent home.

    Exterior Design

Color, as mentioned above, is a top priority.

But you can also add materials to the outside of your trailer to make it more durable and adaptable.

For instance, homemade frames can support a tent on top of the trailer, hold hammocks, or string up tarps for a makeshift survival shelter.

Or you can attach metal diamond plating to the exterior walls to increase durability (although the added weight will undoubtedly decrease gas mileage).

    Mechanical Improvements

With research, skill, and creativity, beefing up the axle, and adding off-road tires, shocks, and even a lift kit is possible.

These additions are highly desirable when escaping a city and taking refuge in the deep wilderness.

    Packing Your Survival Camper

One of the most important things about the trailer is what’s inside it.

Hopefully, you have time to plan and pack your trailer at home before a disaster strikes.

The longer you mull over what you will fill your survival trailer with, the better prepared you will be. Guaranteed.

This list is not comprehensive, but it is a good start to packing any survival trailer with the supplies and equipment needed during a real bug-out.

    The Absolute Necessities

Always start with the supplies that you can’t survive without.

    The survival necessities.

Ensure you are prepared on this front before moving on to more superfluous items.

    Water & Water Filtration System

Human beings can go a relatively long time without calories.

Water is easily the most important item on a survival packing list, above food.

Ensure you have an adequate supply of fresh water and a LifeSafer JerryCan Water System for collecting and purifying the water you find in nature.

Here’s a list of the best survival water filters to keep your water safe.

    Food

    Everyone loves food.

But unfortunately, you will not be able to keep a fresh stock of organic veggies and farm-fresh eggs in your trailer.

The rations you want to pack in your trailer will almost all come in a can, bag, or tube form.

Non-perishable foods are your best friend when it comes to surviving a disaster.

They’re packed with protein and vitamins and kept for very, very long periods of time.

So stock up on a large variety of freeze-dried foods that don’t easily spoil, and you will thank yourself later on.

Here’s a detailed review of our highly recommended survival food supplier, Valley Food Storage.

    Guns, Ammo & Weapons

It is safe to say that any serious survivalist will want guns and ammunition when ‘it hits the fan.’

And it will be way too late to stop by the local gun store on your way out of town.

Think ahead, plan, and grab extra ammo every week to add to your stockpile.

Keep at least a survival handgun and, ideally, a survival rifle inside the trailer at all times.

If you can lock them up with a gun safe, do it.

Anyone who can get their hands on your firearms will try.

Disaster situations do strange things to people; they make them desperate and savage.

Protect your weapons at all costs, or they may be used against you.

And the same goes for swords, axes, maces, flails, bayonets, chainsaws, clubs, crossbows, blowguns, and throwing stars.

You don’t need a full armory in your trailer, but I highly recommend adding a few key self-defense weapons.

    medical-kitMedical Kit

This is a vital piece of gear that everyone should own. You can build your own or buy a pre-made one.

Here is an awesome article on building/buying tactical medical kits.

Doctors are rarely present in emergency situations, and you will likely need medical supplies and medical attention at some point.

Owning a thorough medical kit is like having good insurance – you don’t need it until you freaking need it.

And it will likely save your life in such a case.

    Extra Fuel

It is never certain what circumstances you might have to pack up and flee with your trailer.

It is safe to assume that stopping at the gas station for a quick top-off won’t always be an option.

There might be huge lines, or the stations may be completely out.

So keep some fuel stored in fuel-safe containers in your trailer so you can pull off and fill up anywhere should you need to.

Extra fuel is one of the best things to keep stored with any survival vehicle or cache.

    Spare Tire

A spare tire is a must when driving your vehicle over rough terrain and carrying all of your valuable survival equipment and supplies.

You don’t want to be left for dead in the middle of nowhere just because of a mundane flat tire.

Always keep at least one and, ideally, two or three spare tires with you.

    “Nice” Items to Have

Here are some “nice to have” supplies.

They can grant you peace of mind to be prepared on all fronts, and should the need arise; you may owe your life to one or more of these items.

    Tools

You will not need these every day, but it seems likely that at some point or another, tools will be a very useful item to have stored in a survival trailer.

For mechanical reasons or otherwise, hand tools always come in handy.

    Binoculars

Whether you are hunting or launching an offensive attack on an enemy, binoculars are an excellent survival asset.

    Fishing | Hunting Supplies

On top of ammo and guns for hunting, keep a bit of fishing line, bait, lures, flies, and extra poles stored in the survival trailer.

    Non-perishable food is great.

But when you are miles from civilization and have not eaten something fresh in a few weeks, catching and grilling a fat freshwater trout can be one of the most rewarding experiences in the world.

Cookware, Plates | Bowls & Silverware

Not a necessity by any means, but very nice to have.

Eating straight out of cans and bags will get old after a while.

And collapsible bowls and sporks are affordable and take up very little space.

    Portable Stove

Portable stoves are affordable and come in all shapes and sizes.

You can get an old-fashion white gas stove, a jet boil, or a propane stove.

No matter what kind of fuel it burns or what shape and size it is, the ability to cook food and boil water with the twist of a switch is a fantastic amenity when you are in the wild and away from home.

    Extra Clothes

Needless to say, fresh clothes won’t be in high supply should you have to ditch town and take refuge off-grid in your survival trailer.

So bring spare undies, socks, t-shirts, and pants. You’ll thank yourself, I promise.

    Entertainment

Survival isn’t about keeping your physical body healthy and out of harm’s way.

It also involves keeping your mind healthy and unbroken.

A life without entertainment can drive one crazy (“All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy…”).

Store a few of the best survival books, a deck of survival playing cards, and a board game with your survival gear.

Entertainment can be as valuable as food and water in a world gone mad with chaos.

    Vices

Hear me out; vices are very useful in any survival packing list.

Cigarettes, coffee, cannabis, beer, liquor, whatever!

Not just for personal use (although that is a bonus), but because in a world that has potentially lost its economy to violence and destruction.

Cash and coin may be about as useful as dirt.

Trust me; vices will be rare and highly sought after.

I promise such supplies are cheaper now than they will be after IT hits the fan, so stock up while supplies last.

Even if you don’t partake in these habits, I recommend buying some and keeping them in your survival trailer.

They will assuredly come in more useful than you can imagine.

    Extra Cash

Maybe the economy crashes, maybe it doesn’t.

Be prepared for either circumstance and keep both non-monetary items for trade stockpiled and a little extra cash.

Just ensure it is well hidden and/or locked up in the trailer.

    Seeds & Gardening Tools

Remember when I said you would get sick of non-perishable food fast?

    Well, here’s your solution.

If your survival trailer becomes your main residence, you may have the opportunity to settle down in one place long enough to put down roots.

    Literally.

Planting a garden can yield a surprising amount of extra food; it costs extra elbow grease.

We recommend adding an excellent survival seed vault to your survival trailer.

    Bikes & Boats

They can be bug out bikes or even motorcycles.

They can be canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, or rafts.

No matter what type of boat or bike, you can attach it to your trailer or store it inside; having multiple modes of transportation is extremely useful.

Bikes are agile, small, and quick; boats allow you to access places that might otherwise be unreachable.

The ability to leave the trailer hidden somewhere and go out on your own in a smaller, less visible, more efficient manner is highly appealing and would undoubtedly prove useful.

    Locks & Chain

Locking and securing your belongings is essential.

People will try to steal your equipment, given a chance.

So invest in tough locks and chains to keep your trailer closed uptight and your equipment secure.

You can never do too much when it comes to theft prevention.

    Maps & Atlases

It is a good idea to store a library of maps and atlases to guide you on any journey in your trailer.

Store maps of your local area and places you travel to often.

But also keep maps of the rest of the US, roadmaps, and topos to help you navigate unfamiliar roads.

    The Final Word

There are too many benefits to having a survival trailer to list in a single article.

If it’s within your power to do so, I encourage every survivalist to buy and stock up on one of their own.

It is no small project, and, as mentioned earlier, it isn’t necessarily cheap.

But a survival trailer not only lends itself to a mobile shelter you can drive and park anywhere but also doubles as a mobile survival cache.

Survival campers are like a gigantic Bug Out Bag you can live in!

They streamline any survival plan and offer space to bring family and friends in the event of a true bug-out scenario.

When you and everyone are preparing to flee in a disaster, you want to be the first out of harm’s way because you own a trailer full of gear, supplies, and equipment.

With no last-minute packing, a survival trailer allows you to escape quickly and clearly.

If you’re looking for your next survival project/investment, make it a survival trailer.

It will put you miles ahead of the game…

Liberty Ammunition’s New 70gr 10mm OverWatch Defense Ammo

    @media (max-width:576px) { .read-more-content { height: 180em; } }

Liberty Ammunition recently capitalized on the idea that lightweight bullets moving at high speed make a harder impact. For this reason, Liberty created the OverWatch line, starting with a handful of calibers, now joined by the 10mm. The line was originally developed at the request of an unnamed government agency. However, it is now available to the public as self-defense ammunition.

Liberty Ammunition OverWatch 10mm Defense Ammo

Housed within a nickel-plated brass casing, the 10mm round comes in a lightweight 70 grains. The lead-free round boasts a velocity of 2150 FPS with a muzzle energy of 719 ft-lbs. For this reason, the company claims that the round is 80% faster than some competitors and hits harder than nearly everything in its class. In addition, the 10mm round is lightweight for concealed carry.

Unlike Liberty’s Civil Defense line, which ruptures almost immediately, the OverWatch penetrates barriers and ruptures 3-4 inches in soft tissue. Likewise, Liberty OverWatch displaces organs and offers terminal performance, stopping the threat immediately. According to the company, there is no such thing as a flesh wound with Liberty Ammunition.

The 10mm round features an “Open Cavity Design” (OCD) with a “Maximum Organ Displacement” (MOD) feature. According to retailer reports, once the large cavity enters fluid, it builds hydraulic pressure that leads to an explosion, causing temporary cavities and hydrostatic shock. As a result, this amplifies stopping power.

Following the “explosion,” the bullet fragments into a starburst-shaped pattern and creates multiple would channels. This significantly reduces the risk of overpenetration, which is an important consideration in home defense ammunition.

“Liberty OverWatch is available in key calibers for civilians, law enforcement, and government agencies. Our products are available through our distributor network, and we remain committed to being the best self-defense ammunition on the market,” said Gary Ramey, CEO of Liberty Ammunition.
