Now we are going to find out who was bluffing and who was not bluffing.  Israeli troops have gone into Gaza, and we are being told that this is a war that could last for months.  Of course it could easily last a lot longer than that.  If the stated goal is to eliminate Hamas, that certainly won’t be easy.  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is calling this a second war of independence, and he just told the world that “Never Again is now”…

Netanyahu said troops that he has met in the field are determined to make Hamas pay for its actions on October 7.

“They are determined to eradicate this evil from the world, for our existence and, I add — for all of humanity.”

Netanyahu continued: “We always said, ‘Never Again’. Never Again’ is now.”

So Israel was clearly not bluffing.

Now we shall see what Hezbollah does.

Hezbollah officials have warned multiple times that they will enter the war if Israel goes into Gaza.

Was Hezbollah just bluffing?

So far, a limited number of rockets have been fired back and forth along Israel’s northern border since Netanyahu made his speech…

Several rocket volleys were fired from Lebanon at northern Israel on Sunday, and the Israel Defense Forces said it hit terror cells and sites belonging to the Hezbollah terror group, as skirmishes continued on the northern frontier and the army continues its war with Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip in the south.

According to the IDF, rockets were launched from Lebanon at the upper and western Galilee several times throughout the day, setting off sirens in towns including Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, Shlomi, Tuba-Zangariyye, Rosh Pina, Ayelet Hashahar, and Hatzor Haglilit.

If this is all that Hezbollah does, the Israelis will greatly celebrate.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe that Hezbollah was just bluffing, and I think soon we will see some major moves from them.

I also don’t think that Iran was bluffing.

On Sunday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi publicly stated that the Israelis have “crossed the red lines” that Iran had established…

Israel has “crossed the red lines” in Gaza, which “may force everyone to take action,” Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi said Sunday, while US national security adviser Jake Sullivan warned of an “elevated risk” of a spillover conflict in the Middle East.

Okay, so your “red lines” have been crossed.

What are you going to do about it?

So far, the answer is not much.

But the Iranians are conducting “massive war games” right now…

IRAN has staged massive war games with 200 helicopters and missile launchers as tensions rage over Israel.

Tanks, aircraft and troops were deployed by the Islamic Republic for the exercise dubbed “Authority 1402”.

During these war games, the Iranians have been firing new versions of their domestically-made missiles…

Tehran’s military launched the drills – including using upgraded versions of their domestically-made missiles, Dawn and Diamond.

They also tested new bombs as well as attack helicopters.

The choppers launched missiles in the dark and destroyed the pretend enemy using night vision systems.

Of course these war games are not going to intimidate anyone.

If the Iranians intend to stop what is going on, they are going to have to take action.

For now, the Iranians are limiting themselves to conducting strikes on U.S. bases in the region through their proxies…

Attacks on US military outposts in Iraq and Syria have continued over the weekend. Al-Mayadeen news and other regional outlets have reported that there have been several attacks by Iran-backed militias on Saturday and Sunday. Russian media has also reported on the fresh attacks, calling recent Pentagon airstrikes on Syria an “unsuccessful bid to deter the militias.”

A statement by a coalition of Shia paramilitary groups said, “The Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the American occupation base in Al-Tanf, Syria, with two drones, which directly hit their targets.” They carried out the attack from just across the Iraq border into Syria.

Reports say separately that the al-Shaddadi base in eastern Syria was also hit with two drones, and al-Omar base and oil field was struck. The latter was reportedly attacked a mere hours after the US airstrikes.

Al-Mayadeen had says ago cited a statement from the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades which said the group is willing to fight “a war of attrition against the enemy that will extend for years.”

The recent U.S. airstrikes were supposed to put an end to this.

Obviously that did not work.

So what is Joe Biden’s next move?

Meanwhile,Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is making all sorts of noise.

At a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday, he declared that Israel is “a war criminal”…

Türkiye will introduce Israel to the world as a war criminal, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday.

Speaking at “Great Palestine Meeting,” a pro-Palestine rally in Istanbul, Erdogan said: “Israel, we will also declare you as a war criminal to the world, we are preparing for it, and we will introduce Israel to the world as a war criminal.”

Erdogan stressed that the Western world mobilized its politicians, and media to legitimize the massacre of the innocent people in Gaza, adding: “Israel is committing war crimes.”

And Erdogan also threatened Israel with potential military action…

In comments that have prompted Israeli outcry, and led the country to withdraw its diplomatic presence, president Erdogan suggested assaults on Gaza constituted a “massacre”.

In the same speech, he reportedly said that Turkey can “come at any night unexpectedly” to ecstatic reception from hundreds of thousands of attendees.

The footage, which is currently circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly showed the pro-Palestine crowd responding with the chant: “Turkish military to Gaza.”

Would Turkey actually do such a thing?

Erdogan is completely nuts, but I can’t imagine that he would want to risk a direct conflict with Israel.

If Turkey does attack Israel, would the U.S. strike Turkey?

The U.S. and Turkey are both members of NATO, and so that would create quite an awkward situation.

My friends, we have truly entered unprecedented territory.

A major war has erupted in the Middle East, and now we shall watch to see what all of the interested parties do next…

Really bad policies lead to really bad consequences, and our leaders have been making absolutely disastrous decisions for decades.  As a result, the streets of America are now teeming with thieves, drug addicts, prostitutes, violent criminals and sexual predators.  We have raised an entire generation of young Americans that has no moral foundation whatsoever, and every day we are adding even more immigrants from third world countries to the mix.  Many of those immigrants have no intention of following our laws, and they are fueling the explosive growth of criminal gangs all over the nation.  On top of everything else, the war in the Middle East threatens to spark an unprecedented wave of domestic terror attacks here in the United States.  Millions of radical Muslims now live in this country, and when the time comes many of them will not hesitate to commit acts of violence.

We all know that San Francisco has a terrible, awful, horrible, homeless problem with homeless people sleeping everywhere. One homeless man set up camp across from a Catholic grade school. It would have been a curiosity except for the signs he hung outside of his tent.

“Free fentanyl 4 new users” and “Meth for stolen items.”

Joseph Adam Moore served six years for unlawful sex with a 12-year-old girl and was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl just a month after getting out of prison. But his probation deal did not include staying away from schools. So he camped directly across from Stella Maris Academy and began to host parties of stoners — much to the neighborhood’s dismay.

He is a convicted felon, he is a drug addict, and he is a sexual predator.

And there are countless others just like him all over the country.

For example, the other day parents attacked a naked man inside a JCPenney store near Seattle after that naked man “attempted to inappropriately touch their children”…

The person recording the clip explains that they’re on the first floor of the kids’ department of the location, as the man is attempting to evade people chasing him wearing nothing but socks.

Good for those parents.

If I had been there, I would have gone after him too.

Unfortunately, our entire society is now descending into an abyss of sexual degradation.

Thanks to a new law that was recently signed by California Governor Gavin Newsom, the city of Los Angeles has essentially been transformed into a giant brothel at this point…

Emboldened by new California laws that make it nearly impossible for cops to bust prostitutes, sex workers in Los Angeles’ red light district stalk for business wearing no more than thongs, G-strings and high heels in broad daylight.

A 40-block area of Figueroa Boulevard in South LA sees hundreds of prostitutes, some barely out of their teens, plying their trade since Gov. Gavin Newsom passed the controversial Safer Streets for All Act, which decriminalized loitering with the intent to work as a prostitute in January.

“Before, this type of activity only happened at night where most citizens wouldn’t see it, but now it’s 24/7,” one source told The Post.

Needless to say, the enormous tsunami of migration that we have been experiencing during the Biden administration has greatly contributed to our social problems.

According to brand new numbers that have just been released, the number of migrants that our border patrol officers encountered during the month of September set a brand new all-time record high for a single month…

United States Customs and Border Protection reported the final month of southwest border encounters for fiscal year 2023, revealing yet another record-setting month and year under the Biden administration.

Official numbers totaled 269,735 encounters for September 2023, a new monthly record, which sets fiscal year 2023 at a record-setting 2,475,669.

The yearly total eclipses 2022’s record encounters by nearly 100,000, marking yet another terrible year for President Biden’s border control.

How many others were able to enter this country successfully without being encountered by border patrol officers at all?

Protecting our borders is one of the very few things that the federal government is actually required to do, and under the leadership of Joe Biden the federal government is failing at that task spectacularly.

And now we are being warned that members of Hamas and Hezbollah may try to come over our southern border…

The San Diego Field Office Intelligence Division of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has warned in a memo that members of terrorist groups — namely Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) — could be encountered at the porous southern border. The warning comes weeks after the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel, murdering 1,400 individuals and taking many more hostage on October 7.

The Daily Caller News Foundation first obtained and shared the October 20 memo, which warned that “individuals inspired by, or reacting to, the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt to travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border.”

I have a message for whoever wrote that memo.

Hezbollah is already here.

In fact, Hezbollah has been very active in North America for a long time.

Of course those that have ties to Hezbollah are just a small subset of the rapidly growing population of radical Muslims in this country.

And now that war has erupted in the Middle East, many of those radical Muslims are protesting in the streets.

On Sunday, a pro-Hamas mob took over an entire section of the city of Minneapolis…

A pro-Palestine mob on Sunday took over a street in Minneapolis, swarmed an elderly driver, chased after him, and harassed him.

The mob blocked traffic for several hours on Hennepin Avenue near the Walker Art Center, according to Crime Watch Minneapolis.

The militants surrounded an elderly man in a white sedan, beat on his car, and chased him down.

NEW: Pro-Palestine mob takes over the street and swarms an elderly driver in Minneapolis.

After the driver made it through the initial mob of people, he was blocked at the next intersection by cars.

The mob then chased after the man to harass him some more.

Once upon a time, Minneapolis was such a nice city.

But now those days are long gone.

Eventually, the radical Muslims may completely take over Minneapolis just like they have done in Dearborn, Michigan.

For a long time, I have been warning my readers that our immigration policies will lead to complete and utter madness in the streets of America.

Once the war in the Middle East really gets going, we are going to see things happen in this nation that many people thought that they would never see in their entire lifetimes.

I am going to share something with you that social media is really buzzing about right now.  If you go to Revelation chapter 6, you will find that the colors of the horses that the four horsemen of the apocalypse are riding are white, red, black, and “pale”.  But the ancient Greek word that is translated as “pale” in Revelation 6:8 is more commonly translated as “green”.

In fact, the other three times that “khlōros” is found in the New Testament it is translated as “green” in the King James Version.  So if the most accurate translation of “khlōros” in Revelation 6:8 is “green”, that would give us horses that are white, red, black, and “green”, and it turns out that those are the exact same four colors that we find on the Palestinian flag.

Of course, I do not believe that Revelation chapter 6 is talking about the Palestinians.

But I do think that this is a really weird “coincidence”.

And it has also been pointed out that these four colors are used on flags throughout the entire Islamic world.

That is pretty amazing.

And it really does appear that an apocalyptic war is about to fully erupt in the Middle East.

Even though they claim that they want a ceasefire, on Tuesday afternoon Hamas terrorists launched another “massive rocket barrage” at cities all over Israel…

Hamas launched a massive rocket barrage on Tuesday afternoon, injuring at least five Israelis, emergency services said.

Israelis were wounded in separate incidents in Holon, Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba, Be’er Yaakov, and Yavne while the barrage sent more than one million running for cover. All of the wounded were said to be lightly injured.

And a team of Hamas scuba divers was intercepted as they were trying to sneak into Israeli territory…

Hamas scuba divers attempting to sneak into Israel have been killed, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The news comes as the group launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.

The IDF did not say how many divers were attempting to come ashore but local media reported that at least four terrorists were killed.

They just won’t stop, and that is why the Israelis have no choice but to go in and take them out.

It is being reported that the IDF has been dropping more leaflets warning Palestinian civilians to flee from the war zone while they still can…

The Israeli military has told Palestinian civilians living in north Gaza that if they don’t evacuate to the south, they will be considered “an accomplice in a terrorist organization.”

The warning was made in threatening leaflets dropped by Israeli drones over the weekend. “Urgent warning, to residents of Gaza. Your presence north of Wadi Gaza puts your life in danger. Whoever chooses not to leave north Gaza to the south of Wadi Gaza might be identified as an accomplice in a terrorist organization,” the leaflets said, according to Reuters.

This would seem to indicate that a full-blown invasion is very close.

But it hasn’t happened yet.

The Biden administration has been pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for more time for hostage negotiations, and a handful of hostages have been released.

Of course Hamas would be happy to keep releasing two hostages every few days for the next year if that would delay a full-blown invasion by the Israelis.

But Netanyahu is not going to be able to delay this invasion indefinitely, because military officials and members of his own coalition are becoming quite impatient with him…

Netanyahu has drawn the ire of Israel’s military chiefs by delaying the invasion of Gaza to eliminate Hamas, with western allies in the EU pushing for a ceasefire.

Israel’s Prime Minister clashed with leading figures in the country’s defence forces over his decision to delay the incursion, which his military chiefs are said to be eager to start, the Telegraph reports.

Meanwhile some members states within the European Union have pushed for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and terror group Hamas in order to deliver more humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

For now, the IDF has been relentlessly pummeling the Gaza Strip in anticipation of the coming invasion.

It is being reported that the Israelis conducted a total of 400 airstrikes on Tuesday alone…

Israel said Tuesday it had launched 400 airstrikes over the past day, killing Hamas commanders, hitting militants as they were preparing to launch rockets into Israel and striking command centers and a Hamas tunnel shaft. Israel reported 320 strikes the day before.

But airstrikes will never be enough to eliminate the threat of Hamas.

In order to do that, Israeli troops must go into Gaza and dig the terrorists out of their tunnels.

And that is precisely what the Israeli population is demanding.

It would be difficult to overstate the rage that the Israeli population is feeling right now.  If similar atrocities had been committed in this country, the American people would be feeling the same way.

Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy says that he will never forget the video footage of the atrocities that he has personally viewed…

‘Seared in my mind are the bodies. Burned bodies, beheaded bodies mangled, bloodied remains of bodies. Bodies in open fields, bodies in blood covered bedrooms, bodies dragged out of cars, bodies lining the side of the road, bodies in body bags bodies in rows upon rows of body bags – so many that Zaka rescue teams went through four years of equipment in three days,’ he said.

He went on to describe the bodies of infants burned ‘to a crisp’, so badly that he thought they were ‘lumps of coal’.

‘Babies’ bodies. We see the body of a baby shot in the head. Burned bodies of babies. I mean burned to a crisp. Burned babies plural.

‘I mean so badly burned that I had to ask the video to be stopped so that it could be explained to me that the piece of coal on the screen was the burnt corpse of an Israeli baby,’ he says.

There is no going back to the way that things were before.

The IDF will be going into Gaza, and the goal will be to completely and utterly destroy Hamas.

In response, Hezbollah and other Iranians proxies will enter the fight, and then we will see the apocalyptic war in the Middle East that I have been warning my readers about.

We really are living in a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and the death and destruction that this war will cause will greatly shock the entire world.

What It IS and What It’s NOT

Urban survival skills are different from wilderness survival skills.

So let’s start by agreeing on “What Urban Survival Is” and “What It’s Not.”

The definition of Urban Survival differs slightly depending on who you ask.

Urban survival is having the ability to tough it out in the belly of the beast.

Surviving a world-shattering event from within the heart of a dangerous city takes an entirely different mindset.

It also takes a particular set of survival skills, tools, and plans to stay alive.

Now, even if you don’t live or work in one of the high-population counties, you may have a family member who does.

Or maybe you occasionally visit your kids, friends, or relatives in a nearby high-density city.

The bottom line is:

If SHTF happens and you live in a city or are just there for a short visit, do you have the urban survival skills and knowledge to hunker down and survive?

Getting Home…

When a disaster strikes, you’ll first want to get home (unless your home was destroyed).

Why? Because that’s where you’ll keep the bulk of our survival gear and resources.

They don’t do you much good unless you can’t get home first.

You should assume you won’t be home when disaster strikes.

You might be…but you shouldn’t assume that.

A “Get Home Bag,” by comparison, is small, lightweight, and straightforward.

You should have at least one of these.

But having several dispersed in strategic areas makes sense.

One for the car, one for the office, one for the boat, one for the RV, etc.

A get home bag should contain specific resources to get back to your home base FAST.

Here are the most common items found in a get home bag:

• Spare Cash
• Everyday Carry Knife
• Maps (of the city and surrounding areas)
• Military Compass
• Everyday Carry Flashlight
• Small First Aid Kit
• Hand Crank Radio
• Protein Bars
• Water and Portable Water Filter
• Lockpicking Set

The point of a Get Home Bag is to help you get home!

It’s the basic survival gear that will give you a bit of an edge when you’re away from your home base.

Rendezvous Points

Great, now that have a Get Home Bag, what happens if your home base is destroyed or unsafe?

• Do you have a backup rendezvous location?
• Have you shared this location with your loved ones?

When you are trying to survive an urban emergency, you might not have the opportunity to call your family and friends to arrange a meeting place.

• The kids might be at school.
• Your significant other may be at work across town
• You might be at the dentist.

It’s better to plan ahead and specify a rendezvous point.

But it has to be somewhere memorable.

This does not work if everyone forgets where the meeting place is.

You can choose landmarks, schools, or someone else’s house (if you trust them).

Just make sure everyone is on the same page.

And even practice a few rendezvous drills at this location.

Hunker Down or Bug Out

OK, this is the next big decision you must make.

The desire to get as far away from the city in a prolonged disaster is natural.

But not an urge you should follow in every circumstance.

When you get home, check the news and talk to your neighbors to gather more information.

There are some considerations to take into account:

• What is your emergency food stock looking like?

Depending on how much food and water you have stocked up, you may be able to survive at home longer.

The better your stockpile, the higher your chances of survival.

• How serious is the disaster or emergency?

If it’s a shorter term localized, natural disaster you’ll probably be able to rid things out.

If it’s dangerous and forecasted to continue that way, maybe your best option is to grab your stocked bug out bag and go.

OR, it could be a severe (but temporary) emergency, so bugging out might be a rash decision.

• Are government institutions still functioning?

Without police officers, firefights, paramedics, and EMTs, things will get nasty quickly.

Of course, unanticipated things will happen.

And they tend to occur more frequently during emergencies and disasters.

Some unforeseen events may sway your decision.

It may force you out of the city or trap you within your own home; expect the unexpected.

You need to plan and decide if it makes more sense to bug in or out.

Urban Survival Planning and Preparation

Let’s assume you decide it’s best to hunker down.

The real survival threat in an urban setting is the sheer number of people fighting over the same resources.

So to survive such an environment, we will primarily focus on the following two skills:

1. Avoiding Others
2. Scavenging Resources

If you can limit your exposure to others and scavenge essential resources, your chances of urban survival go up significantly.

Avoiding Others – Staying Put

Avoiding others will be a real challenge in a dense city.

But staying hidden in your home or apartment is the easiest way to accomplish this.

And the only way to do that for an extended period is to stockpile.

I won’t go into extreme detail here about stockpiling (you can read more about it here).

But you need to stock food, water, medical supplies, etc.

A note of caution:

Don’t tell your neighbors or even friends about your stockpile.

Unless you’re OK with sharing your stock resources when SHTF.

So limiting the amount of exposure to others by hunkering down is a good first step.

But if you’re dealing with a prolonged disaster, you’ll be forced to venture out for replenishment at some point.

Avoiding Others – Urban Transportation

Naturally, others will notice if you jump in your car and put the pedal to the metal.

But more often than not, roads will be jammed up.

This can be a serious obstacle for someone determined to get back to home base or trying to move about the city.

Cars and trucks are the hardest to get around amid chaos.

Motorcycles and scooters are more nimble and can dart/weave through thick traffic and tight roadways.

Bicycles are another quick way of getting around in an emergency.

They are particularly handy in the case of an EMP.

Why? Because they don’t have any electronics in them.

However, with all of these options, you’re highly exposed.

Exposed to gangs, thieves, or a looter who all may have gunfire.

So evasion is paramount when exposure becomes risky.

↓ Urban Survival: Improvised Shelter During SHTF

Going by foot is preferred once cars, scooters, and bikes become a liability.

Because you can move quietly and efficiently.

Unfortunately, many large cities sprawl, so you could have a very long distance to cover.

Miles could take days if remaining hidden is required.

Darting through small buildings, a basement, or rooms to provide hidden paths can work.

However, if you don’t know the city well, you may be evading right into a bad guy’s lair.

Cities have too many people in them to remain undetected for a long.

So you also need to have a self-defense plan and be ready to take immediate proactive action.

Firearms are loud but effective, so equip yourself with a suppressor.

Melee weapons are quieter but less efficient.

I plan to have both options with me at all times.

And use the one that seems most appropriate for any given situation.

Get To Know Your Urban Area Well

People who live and work in urban environments should know their area intimately.

Take multiple different routes to and from work each day to explore new areas.

Find back alleys and shortcuts.

Buy some detailed maps of the city and surrounding areas (keep these in your Get Home Bag).

Study these maps.

Learn them now, so you’re not fumbling with them later when the lights go out and anarchy breaks loose in the city.

Urban survival includes learning how to move about a city undetected, like a ninja.

Use gray man tactics to blend in and not stand out.

Traveling over rooftops or sewer systems becomes a major advantage.

You should start practicing these routes today to move secretly throughout a city.

Scavenging For Resources

Moving about undetected is key to avoiding conflict.

But where are you going and why?

You’re scavenging.

Finding useful resources in an urban environment may seem like a simple process.

Just dart off to the nearest Walmart or Target, right?

The problem with these public locations is that they are obvious.

Everyone already knows about these locations, and they will be looted early in a urban disaster.

So you need some new ideas.

Some good locations where the masses won’t be looking (at least initially).

You want to focus on places the masses have never thought of.

Places include distribution centers, manufacturing sites, schools, and construction sites.

Your odds of scoring a few precious resources increase significantly if the masses haven’t been there yet.

The main resources you’re going to want are:

• Water
• Food
• Medical Supplies
• Tools and Gear (such as lockpicking)

Also, if you’re a skilled survivalist, you’ll know how to turn what looks like junk into a useful survival item.

So keep that in mind when scavenging.

Practice Situational Awareness

Situational awareness is the urban survival skill you need to focus on and develop.

Your choices are determined by how well you’ve honed your situational awareness.

Using your instincts and constantly scanning your environment for evidence of trouble will help you to make wise survival decisions.

Often it’s not the strongest or most aggressive who wins.

But the one who makes better choices based on what a situation calls for.

The bottom line is:

A lot of violence could be prevented if more people had better situational awareness.

To Trust Others or Not

Helping your neighbors can be incredibly rewarding.

Sharing your emergency food stockpile, ammo, or even a useful survival tip can earn you an ally during tumultuous times.

You watch their back, and they will watch yours.

It is a symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties.

Besides, having survival friends is nice for the company.

However, don’t be too trusting, or you might end up dead.

Even if it is someone you have known for years and consider a close friend, it is never a good idea to show someone where you keep your survival stash.

Use diversion safes to keep your most valuable items hidden.

Revealing valuable food, water, weapons, or ammo supplies to someone might present an unnecessary temptation.

It would suck to wake up one morning and find out your “buddy” Scott skipped town with all your ramen noodles and shotgun shells.

Be conservative with your trust.

Do not just give it to just anyone.

If there is a big bad cue ball meth-head living down the hall, you can go ahead and assume you are better off without him.

Have some common sense.

There is also the option not to trust anyone at all.

You do not necessarily need other people to survive (although it does make it easier).

Sticking just to yourself makes life a little simpler, you just need to be sure you have the ability to do so.

The lone wolf lifestyle certainly has its advantages.

Personally, I take the middle ground.

I trust with extreme caution.

The two criteria for me to trust someone is:

1. They are nearly as prepared as me BEFORE the world goes to shit.
2. They pull their own weight.

If they have these two qualities, I will consider building a relationship with them in preparation for SHTF.

But building a new relationship mid-disaster is like playing Russian roulette.

Not recommended unless it’s truly your only option.

Stay Fit, Stay Trained

If you are trying to make your way back home within a city, you must travel through dangerous territories (probably by foot).

Police barricades, gridlocked traffic, or destruction debris will jam roadways.

And along the way, you may have to fight.

So it is pertinent to stay in shape and even train yourself physically for such an event.

Long walks, hikes, or runs are great ways of keeping fit.

But it’s also great practice for traveling by foot.

Having travel endurance is key to urban survival.

You should practice moving quickly and with urban evasion techniques.

Thrill sports such as rock climbing, bouldering, and free running are great for toning your core and upper body muscles.

This will prepare you to climb building ladders and scramble between rooftops.

Mostly you need to be able to move throughout a city with minimal visual exposure.

Martial arts are particularly useful.

Because, on top of being great exercise, they are tried and tested methods of self-defense.

If you ever find yourself in a violent riot or a looting frenzy, there may arise the necessity to fight as opposed to flight.

IF you are a trained martial artist, you will be ready for that.

Living In A Post-Disaster World

It is not going to be easy.

When the dust finally settles and the hectic mayhem subsides, there will be a severely damaged society to cope with.

Depending on the destruction’s severity, there may be an extended period of “toughing it out.”

It could be weeks, months, or years before life starts returning to normal.

You may have to go without running water, electricity, and essential services like garbage removal.

Locate some ‘alternative’ water sources ahead of time.

Purifying water will become a very necessary survival skill.

So get some water purification tablets ahead of time.

Because the fight over scarce resources will drive the chaos.

If resources continue to be scarce, escalation will ensue.

People will go from fighting over resources to killing for them.

The most important step is survival.

And if you keep your wits and prepare yourself with these steps, you will be ready to cope with just about any urban survival scenario.

I am going to share something with you that social media is really buzzing about right now.  If you go to Revelation chapter 6, you will find that the colors of the horses that the four horsemen of the apocalypse are riding are white, red, black and “pale”.  But the ancient Greek word that is translated as “pale” in Revelation 6:8 is more commonly translated as “green”.  In fact, the other three times that “khlōros” is found in the New Testament it is translated as “green” in the King James Version.  So if the most accurate translation of “khlōros” in Revelation 6:8 is “green”, that would give us horses that are white, red, black and “green”, and it turns out that those are the exact same four colors that we find on the Palestinian flag.

Of course I do not believe that Revelation chapter 6 is talking about the Palestinians.

But I do think that this is a really weird “coincidence”.

And it has also been pointed out that these four colors are used on flags throughout the entire Islamic world.

That is pretty amazing.

And it really does appear that an apocalyptic war is about to fully erupt in the Middle East.

Even though they claim that they want a ceasefire, on Tuesday afternoon Hamas terrorists launched another “massive rocket barrage” at cities all over Israel…

Hamas launched a massive rocket barrage on Tuesday afternoon, injuring at least five Israelis, emergency services said.

Israelis were wounded in separate incidents in Holon, Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba, Be’er Yaakov, and Yavne while the barrage sent more than one million running for cover. All of the wounded were said to be lightly injured.

And a team of Hamas scuba divers was intercepted as they were trying to sneak into Israeli territory…

Hamas scuba divers attempting to sneak into Israel have been killed, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The news comes as the group launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.

The IDF did not say how many divers were attempting to come ashore but local media reported that at least four terrorists were killed.

They just won’t stop, and that is why the Israelis have no choice but to go in and take them out.

It is being reported that the IDF has been dropping more leaflets warning Palestinian civilians to flee from the war zone while they still can…

The Israeli military has told Palestinian civilians living in north Gaza that if they don’t evacuate to the south, they will be considered “an accomplice in a terrorist organization.”

The warning was made in threatening leaflets dropped by Israeli drones over the weekend. “Urgent warning, to residents of Gaza. Your presence north of Wadi Gaza puts your life in danger. Whoever chooses not to leave north Gaza to the south of Wadi Gaza might be identified as an accomplice in a terrorist organization,” the leaflets said, according to Reuters.

This would seem to indicate that a full-blown invasion is very close.

But it hasn’t happened yet.

The Biden administration has been pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for more time for hostage negotiations, and a handful of hostages have been released.

Of course Hamas would be happy to keep releasing two hostages every few days for the next year if that would delay a full-blown invasion by the Israelis.

But Netanyahu is not going to be able to delay this invasion indefinitely, because military officials and members of his own coalition are becoming quite impatient with him…

Netanyahu has drawn the ire of Israel’s military chiefs by delaying the invasion of Gaza to eliminate Hamas, with western allies in the EU pushing for a ceasefire.

Israel’s Prime Minister clashed with leading figures in the country’s defence forces over his decision to delay the incursion, which his military chiefs are said to be eager to start, the Telegraph reports.

Meanwhile some members states within the European Union have pushed for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and terror group Hamas in order to deliver more humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

For now, the IDF has been relentlessly pummeling the Gaza Strip in anticipation of the coming invasion.

It is being reported that the Israelis conducted a total of 400 airstrikes on Tuesday alone…

Israel said Tuesday it had launched 400 airstrikes over the past day, killing Hamas commanders, hitting militants as they were preparing to launch rockets into Israel and striking command centers and a Hamas tunnel shaft. Israel reported 320 strikes the day before.

But airstrikes will never be enough to eliminate the threat of Hamas.

In order to do that, Israeli troops must go into Gaza and dig the terrorists out of their tunnels.

And that is precisely what the Israeli population is demanding.

It would be difficult to overstate the rage that the Israeli population is feeling right now.  If similar atrocities had been committed in this country, the American people would be feeling the same way.

Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy says that he will never forget the video footage of the atrocities that he has personally viewed…

‘Seared in my mind are the bodies. Burned bodies, beheaded bodies mangled, bloodied remains of bodies. Bodies in open fields, bodies in blood covered bedrooms, bodies dragged out of cars, bodies lining the side of the road, bodies in body bags bodies in rows upon rows of body bags – so many that Zaka rescue teams went through four years of equipment in three days,’ he said.

He went on to describe the bodies of infants burned ‘to a crisp’, so badly that he thought they were ‘lumps of coal’.

‘Babies’ bodies. We see the body of a baby shot in the head. Burned bodies of babies. I mean burned to a crisp. Burned babies plural.

‘I mean so badly burned that I had to ask the video to be stopped so that it could be explained to me that the piece of coal on the screen was the burnt corpse of an Israeli baby,’ he says.

There is no going back to the way that things were before.

The IDF will be going into Gaza, and the goal will be to completely and utterly destroy Hamas.

In response, Hezbollah and other Iranians proxies will enter the fight, and then we will see the apocalyptic war in the Middle East that I have been warning my readers about.

We really are living in a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and the death and destruction that this war will cause will greatly shock the entire world.

How to Get Rid of Coyotes with a Trap

As you can tell, you have several options when it comes to setting your own coyote trap. In the video below, outdoor expert Heith “Gonzo” Gagnon shows how to get rid of coyotes with a step-down trapping set.

You Will Need:

• Dirt Sifter
• Trap (Gonzo uses a Duke #4×4 coil)
• Stake or drag
• Trowel
• Kneeling pad
• Some sort of pan cover
• Groundhog hammer
• Bait (he uses Minnesota Brand predator bait)
• Lure (he uses GH II and fox urine)
• A small bucket of dry dirt
• Antifreeze (if the weather calls for it)

1. Find a Central Location

The best location for a step-down is somewhere the coyotes are likely to cross. Gonzo sets his trap in a field between a trail and a gate.

He also recommends putting one trap on either side of the gate; this makes it more likely to trap the coyotes.

2. Begin Digging an Area for Your Trap

Make it about 10-12 inches wide and 18-20 inches long.

3. Dig a Hole Behind the Step-down

Make the hole about 6-10 inches deep. Make sure to wear gloves so you don’t leave too much scent behind.

4. Dig a Deeper Hole for the Step-down

This is where you’ll insert your trap, so make sure it’s wide enough. (His trap of choice is a Duke 4×4). Leave some loose dirt over the top of the hole.

5. Sprinkle Antifreeze Over the Hole

A little bit of antifreeze will keep the dirt and trap from freezing in cold temperatures.

6. Hammer Your Stake into the Trap Bed

This will hold your trap tight into the ground. If the dirt is soft enough, it should go into the ground pretty easily.

When you’re done, pull on the trap to make sure it stays in place. Add more loose dirt to cover the chain.

7. Set Your Trap for Coyotes

Wedge your trap into the hole, then add more loose dirt to make sure it’s secure. Add a sheet of crumpled wax paper to the top of the trap, then slowly sift more dirt onto the top.

Carefully smooth the dirt around the trap, then add more antifreeze to keep the dirt fresh.

8. Add Bait and Lure

Lastly, add your bait and lure of choice to your trap. In the video, Gonzo sprinkles fox urine as a lure on a nearby shrubbery, and then he sticks a small flower into the hole for bait.

Basics of Coyote Trapping – Trapping Coyotes 101

Trapping is a good way for kids to explore the outdoors, and learn about animals, their habits, and their habitats. For some people, the desire to trap never fades even as the years pass.

For others, the desire to trap doesn’t come until later in life. The following is, in essence, the basics of trapping and what could be, in my opinion, the best way to get rid of coyotes.

This will cover the most popular species trappers’ target. The basics of trapping will also cover methods experiences trappers use to trap them.

1. Beavers and Muskrats

Two of the most popular species trappers pursue are beavers and muskrats. Experienced trappers tend to trap beavers and muskrats in the winter. But for a beginner, trapping these species may be easier to trap in the spring and fall.

The most commonly used trap for beaver is the 330 conibear. Check your local state laws; sometimes the law requires this trap to be fully submerged in water.

You should stake the trap in areas were beavers like to hang out. These are places such as dams, bank dens, beaver lodges, culverts, and/or canals between two bodies of water.

Beavers prefer to be in slack water, which is what beavers create when they build dams. Slack water, which used to be known as ‘the stand of the tide’, is a short period in a body of tidal water when the water is completely unstressed, and therefore no movement either way in the tidal stream.

A good way to find places to trap beaver is to contact the county highway or land department. Many times they are having problems with beavers and are very happy to have a trapper take care of the problem for them.

Muskrats can be found in the same areas as beavers. Wetlands and large ponds are great locations to start your search for muskrats.

The simplest way to trap muskrats is to stake a 110 conibear along the run leading up to the den or house. If you look closely around the house or den you will notice trails the muskrats have made when they enter and exit the house or den.

You want to place the 110 conibears as close to the den as possible. Check with your local regulations, in some states and areas within a state the laws may be different. In some areas, it may be illegal to bait the trap and laws that regulate the distance the trap can be from the den.

2. Coyotes and Foxes

Trapping fox and coyote require a little more patience. Fox and coyote tend to be a little more trap-shy than beaver and muskrats.

Thus, the best time for a beginner to trap fox and coyotes is in the fall. We recommend a foothold trap–1.5 for foxes, and two or three for coyotes.

The best places to set these traps are on the edges of fence rows where different types of crops come together. Areas like tractor ruts or trails through the grass are also great places.

Foxes and coyotes like to take the path of least resistance. This tends to be a rule of thumb for most furbearers.

Remember coyotes and fox are part of the canine species. Their ability to smell far surpasses humans.

This is why scent control is a must. If you plan on trapping fox and coyote you need to minimize your scent.

You can do this by wearing rubber boots and gloves and by boiling your traps after you buy them and after each use.

The most common type of set to trap coyote and fox is the flat set or dirt hole set. These two sets are the most effective and easiest sets to construct.

To construct the dirt hole set, simply take a clump of grass or brush for a backing. This will help by directing the fox or coyote to approach the set in the right direction.

Dig a hole that slants towards the backing. The hole is where you will place the baits and lures.

In front of the hole, dig out an area big and deep enough to place the trap and cover it with dirt without creating a mound. This is the trap bed.

When you place the loose dirt over the trap you want the dirt to blend in with the surrounding area and look natural. The last thing to do is to place some bait into the hole and cover the bait with a clump of crass.

3. Mink

Mink live near water and will find food on land and in water. Look for mink on the edges of water such as lakes, rivers, streams, and other wetlands.

For the most part, you want to set traps within 5 feet of the water’s edge. The best trap for mink is the one and 1.5 sized foothold traps.

The best kind of baits to use is mink musk and muskrat musk. Bait may not be necessary then.

You want to select a spot on near the water’s edge where you see mink tracks and the trails they have been using. Make your trap bed and place trap in it and cover it with leaves and grasses to make it look natural and blend in with the surrounding area.

A tip from the experts, place sticks on both sides and the back of the trap bed to guide the mink to step on the trap.

4. Raccoon

Raccoons can be found almost anywhere in North America and are a very commonly trapped furbearer. The critters can be found mostly in wooded areas and near water.

Raccoons are a very curious creature, and because of this, they can be trapped in almost any setting. The most common trap to use for a beginner is the 220 conibear.

Raccoons are also very predictable creatures–they will use the same trails along streams, ditches, rivers, and ponds. You can set a 220 conibear along these trails, for best results.

Above is just the basic a new trapper should know. Never stop educating yourself about trapping and trapping techniques.

How to Get Rid of Coyotes on Hunting Land: Sets to Trap Problem Coyotes

Trapping coyotes is one of the ways to get rid of coyotes. Coyotes are more rewarding and more gratifying compared to other furbearers because they are much more cunning and tactful than other furbearers.

If you run a trap line long enough, you will come across a coyote too hard to trap. Trapping coyotes who escaped your trap or has busted one of your sets is not an easy task.

But, a little preparation and a little step back will do the trick. Trapping coyotes no matter how trap-shy they are can then be an easier task than once thought.

1. Coyote Digging Traps

Nothing is more frustrating than walking up to a trap sprung by a wise coyote. Your best bet in this situation is to pull the trap because you had your chance.

Trapping coyotes from this location will be next to impossible. Trappers may often attribute the sprung trap to the wariness nature of the coyote, and fail to evaluate they may be the one doing something wrong.

In this situation, it could be how you have set the trap or an issue with how you are carrying your trapping gear. The coyote is digging up the trap because it smells something on the trap.

The most common cause for the scent to be on your trap is the traps and tools’ scents are being carried in the same compartment. The best course of action is to clean your traps and keep them separate from then on.

Now you are ready to reset the trap.

2. The Wise Coyotes

Trapping coyotes who escaped a trap before maybe the hardest of all coyotes to trap. For good reason, they know the potential dangers.

Trapping coyotes with a previous encounter with a trap will avoid your set altogether if it has the faintest hint of something amiss. In this situation, a trapper must be fully aware of the entire process of making a coyote set.

This includes paying very close attention to scent contamination. For example, don’t put your traps in with your scents and try to make yourself as scentless as possible.

Also, include trap placement and bedding of the trap during the creation of the coyote set. If still, you can’t trap the wise coyote, try a hay set.

This should be constructed in a short grassy field. First, take two NO. three footholds and place them about 18 to 24 inches apart.

Next, cover the traps lightly with hay, and create a small mound of hay in between the traps. Then, add an appropriate amount of gland lure or bait to the center of the mound.

The set should be the size of a two to three-foot circle. The science behind the hay bale set is its place with the coyote’s instinct to catch food.

Coyotes encounter hay all the time and associate it with food, generally mice. Instead of approaching the hay cautiously, they approach with ease.

When going after mice, coyotes jump into the air and land on the hay trying to trap the mice. But hopefully, in this case, it will be a trap they land on.

3. The Shy Coyotes

A trap-shy coyote is one who is able to identify traps out of the ordinary surroundings. Many times a coyote is able to identify sets because of overused scents.

Trappers generally use too much gland lures and baits in a basic set. This smell will be associated with the sets and will trigger alarms keeping the trap-shy coyote far away.

To remedy this, try to use baits and lures not used in the area yet. You can try to make your own.

Chances are, the coyotes have not smelled your homemade lure yet. Another option is to use a scent post set.

Bed the trap carefully and put only a drop or two of urine from a fox, coyote, or bobcat on what you are using for a post. Coyote encounters this type of scent marking all the time in the woods.

Trapping a coyote who already saw all the tricks you are trying to throw at it can be frustrating at times. If a coyote isn’t falling for your sets, it’s for a reason.

Sometimes you need to step back and try switching it up a little. It can be a small thing, making all the difference.

How to Get Rid of Coyotes with Debris Mounds

To trap coyotes on farms and wide-open areas you should spread sets sticking out like a sore thumb. Trapping coyotes is difficult because they are runners and may travel 10-15 miles each night in search of food.

If you want to effectively trap coyotes, you want the sets to be very noticeable from a distance to catch a coyote’s attention and to draw them in.

Coyotes don’t hunt every square inch of the area they call home, they hunt on the go. This means you need the coyotes to see the sets from across the field.

In order to trap coyotes this way, the placement of this coyote set is important. You want to place this set at least 15 yards from any woods or hedgerow.

Coyotes feel more comfortable investigating sets and holes in the open as [opposed to] sets tucked close to a cover or a brush pile.

1. The Mound

The first thing you need to do is to rake as much of the surrounding crop debris and dirt as you can into a large pile. You need the pile at least 18 inches high and about four feet long, and in the shape of a crescent moon. In a cut cornfield were the stubble is still standing, you need to build the mounds higher than 18 inches to be seen by the coyotes over the stubble.

The idea is for the coyotes to see the sets from a half-mile away. If you’ve done it right you will be able to see the set from the farthest point of direct viewing.

After you have the mount made, you want to have the area around the mound to be bare dirt–the larger the better. The bare dirt helps put the coyotes at ease, and want to investigate the set a little more.

2. The Hole

Now for the hole; you need the hole to be placed in the concave of the crescent mound. This is the first step in directing the coyotes to the set and to step on the trap.

You want the hole to be five or six inches wide and about 18 inches deep. Approaching coyotes should spot the hole right away.

It also helps to round the edges of the hole. This helps in two ways by making the hole look bigger and also making the hole seem as it is being used. This helps with the visual aspect of the set.

3. The Trap

Even with guiding, such as the crescent mound, it is still difficult to get the coyotes to step in the trap. To increase the chances of trapping the coyotes you want to use a large trap such as No. 3 Bridger or 4. Sleepy creek.

Also, because of the pulling force of the coyotes; it is a must for you to cross stake each trap. Many times you will hear people say, guide the coyotes with subtle cues such as a small rock or a tiny stick on the loose jaw side.

However, for this set, you want it to be a little less subtle to guide the coyotes on the trap. To accomplish this you need to set the trap so the dirt covering the trap is about an inch deeper than the surrounding dirt.

Also, rough up the dirt around the trap where you don’t want the coyotes to step. You want to encourage the coyotes to stand exactly where you want when he comes to investigate the set.

You need to place the trap about a foot from the center of the hole. This is the sweet spot where the coyotes will stand when he is investigating the hole.

4. Baiting

Once you have the attention of curious coyotes, you will need to keep this attention. To do this, you need bait.

You want a chunk of rendered meat the size of a golf ball soaked with a solution of beaver castor and other secret ingredients from a local maker.

The type of meat doesn’t matter too much anything such as, chicken, turkey, squirrel, skunk, muskrat, or whatever else has been found on the road.

If you want to know how to get rid of coyotes on your land and keep your livestock, family, and yourself safe, you might as well know you can make good use of it for survival. The furs of these animals prove to be valuable for survival purposes.

It is becoming clear that Israel is going to have to battle enemies on multiple fronts, and that means that this war is going to look a whole lot different than a lot of people thought that it would.  If the fighting could have been confined to just Israel and Hamas, there still would have been a lot of death and destruction, but everyone knows that Hamas is no match for the IDF.  But if Hezbollah, Syria, Iran and the Palestinians in the West Bank all jump into the conflict, all of a sudden this becomes a war of national survival for Israel, and in such a scenario it is much more likely that weapons of mass destruction will be used.  So it should deeply alarm all of us that fighting has now erupted on multiple fronts.

On Sunday, IDF troops clashed with Hamas terrorists inside the Gaza Strip…

Hamas fighters and Israeli forces engaged in limited clashes inside Gaza on Sunday as the Israeli military ramped up airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave ahead of what its spokesperson described as the “next stage” of its war on the militant group.

Hamas claimed its fighters had destroyed two Israeli military bulldozers and a tank in an ambush near the Gazan city of Khan Younis, forcing Israeli troops to retreat without their vehicles. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed its forces had been operating inside Gaza during the incident, and said an IDF tank struck militants who had fired on its troops.

The episode appeared to be one of the first skirmishes between the two sides on the ground inside the strip since war broke out after Hamas’ deadly October 7 attack on Israel which killed more than 1,400 people. On October 13, the IDF said it had carried out raids inside Gaza.

According to the IDF, this raid was part of the preparation for a full-blown ground invasion.

And I think that we are very close to the moment when that full-blown ground invasion will be launched.

Meanwhile, the Israelis have evacuated more towns and villages near the northern border in anticipation of a war with Hezbollah…

On Sunday, the defense minister confirmed that another 14 towns and villages have been told to evacuate, in addition to the 28 initially ordered to do so last week. “According to the IDF and Defense Ministry, the 14 communities being added to the list are: Snir, Dan, Beit Hillel, She’ar Yashuv, Hagoshrim, Liman, Matzuva, Eylon, Goren, Gornot HaGalil, Even Menachem, Sasa, Tziv’on and Ramot Naftali,” Times of Israel details.

Evacuating those areas is a wise move, because fighting along the northern border just continues to escalate…

Fears mounted Sunday that the Israel-Gaza war could swell into a wider conflict amid rising cross-border attacks on Israel’s north from Iranian-backed Hezbollah militants in Lebanon and expanding Israeli airstrikes across the region.

On Sunday, Hezbollah released video of a particularly disturbing attack on the Biranit barracks that happened on Friday…

Israel sees Iran-backed Hezbollah as its most serious threat, estimating it has some 150,000 rockets and missiles aimed at Israel.

Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus accused the group early Sunday of “escalating the situation steadily.” He said the recent cross-border skirmishes had produced both Israeli troop and civilian casualties but did not provide additional details.

Hezbollah on Sunday posted a video of what it said was a Friday attack targeting the Biranit barracks near the Lebanon-Israel border, the command center of the Israeli military’s northern division. Footage shared by the group showed an overhead view of a strike on what it described as a gathering of soldiers.

Fighting Hamas and Hezbollah at the same time would be difficult enough, but it appears that Israel will be forced to tangle with Syria as well.

Iran sends enormous amounts of weapons and supplies to Hezbollah by flying them into airports in Syria, and on Sunday the IDF bombed the international airports in Damascus and Aleppo for the third time in ten days…

Syria said it was forced to shut down international airports in Damascus and Aleppo because of the Israeli strike. The Syrian Transport Ministry said landing strips at both airports were damaged by missiles and one civilian worker was killed and another wounded at Damascus International Airport. Israel has carried out several strikes in Syria since the war began, citing the need to prevent Hezbollah and other militant groups from bringing in arms from Iran, which also supports Hamas.

We have also seen clashes directly along Israel’s border with Syria in recent days, and I fully expect an intensification of fighting in that area during the week ahead.

On top of everything else, fighting has also erupted in the West Bank…

In the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed at least five people there early Sunday, according to the local Health Ministry. Two were killed in an airstrike on a mosque in the town of Jenin, which the Israeli military said belonged to Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants who had carried out several attacks and were planning another one.

Can the IDF handle enemies coming from all directions at once?

I don’t know.

We shall see what happens in the days ahead.

But I think that it is quite likely that if Hezbollah enters the war the U.S. military will intervene.

Over the weekend, we learned that the Biden administration has decided to send even more air defense assets to the region…

The U.S. will send a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system and additional Patriot air defense missile system battalions to the Middle East, the Pentagon said on Saturday, in response to recent attacks on U.S. troops in the region.

The United States has sent a significant amount of naval power to the Middle East in recent weeks, including two aircraft carriers, their support ships and about 2,000 Marines.

The Biden administration had been trying to delay a full-blown ground invasion of Gaza for a couple of reasons.

Number one, there was hope that negotiations could secure the release of more of the hostages.

Number two, there was hope that diplomacy could keep Hezbollah out of the war.

But now the time for talk is ending, and the IDF is gearing up for a major ground campaign in Gaza.

Once that happens there will be no turning back, so brace yourselves for what is coming next…

Practical and Survival Uses for Trash Bags

Deciding how to spend available funds in a preparedness budget, especially for a bug out bag is not an easy task. Multi-use items and under $5 survival items are always a favorite of wallet-conscious preppers.

Trash bags, even the brand-name sturdy ones definitely fall within the “reasonably priced” category, but when we look past the obvious uses for plastic bags, they become an even more advantageous contribution to our preps.

These hacks and uses for trash bags will fix it as one of your top essentials in an ultimate bug out bag!

1. Use as a Poncho

Simply cut or carefully tear a hold for the head and even the arms, and one poncho is coming right up!

2. Emergency Trash Bag Shelter

Packing a tent or tarp for an emergency shelter is, of course, optimal–but such items take up a lot of space and are heavier as well. Even a one-person tent will not fit in a child’s backpack, but trash bags and some duct tape surely will.

You can make a garbage bag lean-to with some sticks for use in the desert or in any open and shadeless area.

3. Keeps Your Feet and Shoes Dry with Garbage Bag Shoes

Trash bags are also useful in keeping your shoes and feet dry. Open a trash bag, step inside and tie or secure with duct tape and keep rain and snow at bay.

Storing several trash bags for emergency booties and a poncho inside a get home bag or bug out bag takes up very little space and adds virtually no weight to the pack.

4. Reusable Water-Proof Storage Bags

Keep your spare socks, change of clothes, and blankets dry with trash bags. The trash bags used to store these items can be turned into a poncho, bootie, or emergency shelter in mere minutes.

5. Septic Disposal Containers

During either a short or long-term disaster, trash bags can be used to safely store waste when commodes are not working. The bags work equally well for sharps and bloody cloth or bandages used to treat wounded.

Preventing the spread of disease becomes even more important during a TEOTWAWKI scenario.

6. Makeshift Hats

Keep the rain off or your head with a makeshift trash bag hat. Simply wrap the trash bag over your head like you would a bandana.

7. Fly Screen/Bug Repellant

Make a fly screen for the front of your shelter with a trash bag — or two. Cut the trash bag into a sheet type form and then cut slits within a few inches of the top of the bag and you have a protective screen to keep the bugs away.

8. Ground Cover

Trash bags also make a great ground cover. If you are using a tarp, or another trash bag for shelter, placing another plastic bag onto the ground will prevent dampness from impacting your clothing.

The trash bag also offers another layer between you at bugs which will come out of the ground seeking food during the evening and early morning hours.

9. Thermal Underwear

Although not exactly soft, trash bags can make great thermal underwear under your clothing. Tape or tie piece of the bag around your legs, arms, and stomach beneath your clothing to prevent body heat from escaping quite so easily.

10. Container for Food Preparation

Sure, they will be a bit flimsy and perhaps messy, but you can use trash bags to mix food or drink ingredients. Only avoid using sharp objects in this business because you know what happens next.

11. Solar Water Still Accessory

You can also use trash bags as part of solar water still. A trash bag, a container, and greeneries will give you water in an area where there is none.

12. Trash Bag Life Jacket

Although US Coast Guard does not approve of it, there are reports of trash bags as effective life jackets — it is at least worth a shot during an emergency.

Tie the ends of the trash bag together and blow air into it to inflate, then secure the open ends together as well. Tape or tie the back into a life jacket shape and use it to help keep your, your pets, or your get home bag afloat.

13. Food Storage and Transport

You can also use trash bags to store and transport food. When you’re caught in a flood or crossing a body of water, you can keep your food dry and afloat with trash bags.

14. Pillow

Give your head a somewhat soft place to rest during an overnight hike home by inflating trash bags and using them as a pillow.

It isn’t much but a little comfort in a survival situation is a lot.

15. Water Container

Trash bags also make great emergency water container. Trash bags will hold a decent amount of weight but will need to be carried carefully so the plastic does not tear and the water spill out onto the ground.

16. Water-Proof Your Sleeping Bag with Trash Bags

Keep your sleeping bag and yourself dry and a little warmer by using trash bags as cover. To stay extra dry, slip into a sleeping bag like you would a potato sack for a race before getting into the sleeping bag as well.

17. Emergency Blanket Substitute

Mylar emergency blankets are inexpensive, lightweight, and take up little space, but trash bags make a good temporary substitute.

18. Sun Shade

Hook trash bags to branches, or taped into place, to make a temporary sun shade. After taking the hiking break, carefully fold the trash bag into a small square so it can be used again during the next break period.

19. Pressure Bandage for First Aid

Make a pressure bandage or a triangle bandage with trash bags. The trash bags can also simply be used to cover a traditional bandage to help protect the wound from exposure to dirt or the bandage from exposure to the rain.

20. Splinter Support for First Aid

Tie a splint with a trash bag, double the bag, or tape two together to make a sturdier splint.

21. Catch Basin for Water

In addition to being used as a makeshift water carrier, trash bags can also be used as a catch basin for water. Tie the bag to something mildly sturdy in an area exposed to the sky, or line a bucket or similar item with the bag, and capture enough water to keep yourself hydrated.

22. Patch

Trash bags can also be used as patching for leads in other food and water containers. The plastic bags can be taped to cover worn spots or tears in a bug out or get home bags too.

23. S.O.S. Signs

Use trash bags to signal help. Tie or secure a white trash bag to a rock in a visible spot to let others know where you are. It is always a good idea to carry a permanent marker and spray paint to write messages.

24. Disposable Plates

You can use trash bags to eat from. Find the most smooth and flat rock in the near vicinity and place a piece of the trash bag onto the rock for a clean eating surface.

25. Trail Markers

Use trash bags to tie onto trees for trail markers. This is one way to reuse trash bags which you have previously used for food storage, sleeping bag, and some of the items mentioned here.

26. Windsock

Make windsocks with trash bags. It could serve a couple of emergency functions other than telling the wind direction.

You can also use it as an S.O.S. sign or as hazard markers.

27. First Aid Liter

If an injured person, pet, or heavy gear needs to be moved, make a liter and line it with several trash bags.

28. Hazard Markers

Make a banner with trash bags to leave warning notes for others or to mark unsafe buildings. Tape, string, and marking materials will also be required.

29. Hot Shower

Fill trash bags up with water, set it in the sun for a while and then hang it from a sturdy branch to use for a shower. Heated water is also useful for cleaning wounds.

30. Temporary Backpack

Make a temporary backpack with trash bags so the non-prepared person you come across during your trek home can help you carry the load.

Remember, the person could run off with your stuff, but if they’re scared and unaware and you appear full of knowledge, the person will likely stick to you like glue.

Trash bags are one of the most economical preppers’ “to-do” list finds and literally, dozens of potential disaster uses. In addition to being easy on the budget, trash bags are lightweight yet durable and take up very little space in a bug-out bag, INCH bag, and get-home bag.
