What Is Zote Soap

Zote Soap is a laundry soap bar originating in Mexico. It was used for families without access to a washing machine and washed clothes by hand or a washing board.

Zote Soap is a combination of the following natural ingredients:

  • animal fat (beef tallow)
  • coconut oil
  • and citronella

This earthy combination gives you superior cleaning power and stows exceptionally well because it’s in bar form.

Zote Bars usually come in white. But they can also come in pink or blue with color dyes. But ultimately, you’re getting a natural cleaner for many different applications.

The citronella oil gives it a vibrant scent and quickly removes odors from your clothes. And an optical brightener is added to make your clothes brighter and whiter.

7 Popular “How To Use Zote Soap” Uses

Zote Soap has many uses and should be a vital part of your hunting, camping, and outdoor adventures.

It’s also a one-and-done for home use. Let’s check out how to use Zote Soap and its main applications.

1. Laundry

It’s a washing bar right out of the package, perfect for laundry. This makes it an effective solution for everyday clothes washing. But it’s especially effective on all kinds of stains as well.

The high-fat content can cut through grease and grime, so it’s excellent for pretreating stains before washing. It will also help whiten up those whites.

You can grate the bar into flakes and add it to your laundry load in a machine. But if you are off-grid, it is perfect for handwashing.

The bar is non-abrasive, so handwashing all your clothes works well. And will leave behind a fresh citrus scent for days.

2. Body Wash

Forget packing soap, shampoo, and conditioner on your next camping or hunting trip. You already have everything you need for personal hygiene with Zote Soap.

It’s a whole-body wash for everything, including your hair and torso, and is gentle enough for even babies.

3. Rashes & Bites

You can also use Zote Soap for different kinds of skin irritants. Poison ivy is a genuine concern when you are out in the bush, so add a bar to your IFAK Medical Kit. It will take the sting and swelling down fast.

If you get attacked by mosquitos, it will reduce the itchiness and reduce swelling. It also is an effective deterrent for bugs due to its strong citronella scent.

Showering with it should keep the bugs away, but you can also have a bar out in your camp at all times.

4. Animal Repellant

If you have a problem with bugs and rodents, you need to get some Zote Bars. Besides mosquitos, this bar will do wonders for all kinds of critters that evade your space.

Rats and mice hate the smell, and it will keep deer out of your garden if you put some flakes around. Do be wary of bears as the citrus smell may attract them.

5. Fish Bait

Yeah, you heard me right. You can use chunks of these soap bars as catfish bait, and it works. And it’s a simple recipe of:

  • 14oz Zote Soap
  • 1/4 cup bacon fat
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 pinched garlic cloves

Melt it down and our into small molds, and you got a proven fish bait for your next trip.

6. Plumbing Repairs

This use seems odd, but for a temporary fix to a leaking pipe, you can mix Zote Soap with sugar to make a paste that will clog a leak.

It’s not a permanent solution but will get you through the night.

7. Zote Soap Freshener

We have odors all over the place, and you can freshen things up fast with a few well-places bars.

Put one in your closet to make your clothes smell nice. Cut up a bar and put pieces in each drawer to freshen up your socks and underwear.

You can make a sachet with a potpourri mix and Zote Soap for a room freshener as well.

Do your shoes and boots reek? Put a half bar in each one, and then when you are ready to wear them, they will be odor-free.

Other uses include:

  • Degreaser & Lubricant – It’s like a bar of WD40!
  • Washing dishes
  • Scrubbing toilets/tubs
  • Stuck zippers
  • Cleaning tools and survival gear

And the list can go on and on.

How To Use Zote Soap For Laundry

Zote Soap was initially made as a solution to dirty laundry. And while it has many other uses, cleaning clothes is where it shines.

There are many different ways you can use Zote Soap for laundry duties. Let’s go over them:

Hand Washing

Not all people have access to a washing machine, so using Zote Soap works great for handwashing. You can fill your sink or washtub with warm water to soak your clothes.

Then start scrubbing them with a bar of Zote. You can also use a washboard. Using Zote and a board is great for delicate items that can’t take the beating of a washer. After you wash, rinse the clothes until there is no more soap, and then ring them out and hang them to dry.

Pre Treatment For Stains

Zote is the perfect product to get nasty stains out before washing your clothes. Oil, grass, dirt, and other messes will easily lift when you pretreat them before washing.

Make Your Own Wet & Dry Laundry Detergent

You can throw away the store-bought detergents and make your own with the natural properties of Zote Soap.

Here’s how to make Zote Soap laundry detergent:

Liquid Soap

Boil 3 cups of water, take it off the heat and stir in a grated a bar of Zote Soap until it dissolves.

Pour it into a large container with 3 gallons of water, 1 cup of baking soda, and 1 cup of Borax.

Stir it up again, so everything dissolves, and you have an excellent liquid laundry soap. You can make this in different-sized batches as needed.

Powdered Soap

This combination is even easier. Grate your Zote Bar and mix it with Borax and soda ash in a 2-1-1 ratio.

Make sure it is well combined, and then store it in an airtight container. Use 1 tablespoon for regular loads and 2 for filthy stuff.

Thanks To Omicron, The Price Increases Of 2022 Will Be More Painful Than Anything We Have Experienced Before

Most people simply do not understand that we really are moving into a long-term economic emergency.  So much of the economic optimism that fueled rallies in the financial markets throughout 2022 was based on a belief that the COVID pandemic would soon be brought to an end.  Well, that obviously has not happened.  After everything that has been done, the COVID pandemic in the United States is now worse than ever.  In fact, on Wednesday there were 465,470 newly confirmed cases in the United States alone.  That shattered the old daily record by more than 100,000.  The Omicron variant is spreading like wildfire, and this is going to cause mass panic during the early stages of 2022.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what this is going to mean for the economy.  Fear of Omicron is going to weigh heavily on production all over the globe, and so there will be less stuff available for us to buy.  Meanwhile, fear of Omicron is also likely to make our supply chain crisis even worse.  It will be even more of a challenge to move goods around the globe in a timely manner, and that is going to mean even more empty shelves.

But thanks to the reckless policies of the Biden administration and the Federal Reserve, Americans have lots and lots of money in their pockets.  All of those dollars are going to be chasing declining levels of goods and services, and that is going to result in hair-curling inflation.

Of course what we have already experienced has been painful enough.  Earlier today, the top moderator of one of the most popular discussion forums on the Internet posted this

Just bought 2 prime ribeyes for $64…

I was shocked!

That’s got to be double what I used to pay.

Meat prices are getting really crazy, but they are only going to go even higher.

The same thing can be said for all other food prices too.  Even before Omicron came along, major companies all over the country were preparing major price hikes for 2022.

For example, the maker of Oreos and Ritz crackers has announced that all of their prices will be going up 6 to 7 percent next year…

Mondelez International, which makes snacks including Oreo cookies and Ritz crackers, will increase prices by 6% to 7% in January, the company said last month.

Other food producers will be implementing much larger price increases.  When the Wall Street Journal reported that Kraft Heinz would be lifting prices by as much as 20 percent in 2022, that definitely alarmed a lot of people…

According to the Wall Street Journal, Kraft Heinz’s price increases were among the most dramatic heading into 2022, with some items going up as much as 20%; the price of the company’s Grey Poupon mustard, for example, will increase between 6% to 13%.

And it is being reported that General Mills will also be raising prices by around 20 percent

A “major regional wholesale supplier” leaked to CNN a letter that General Mills sent retailers to inform them that the price of some products could increase by as much as 20% starting in mid-January. This would be on the extreme end, but that high rate is certainly concerning.

So get ready to pay a whole lot more for cereal.

Even prices at Dollar Tree will be going from $1.00 to $1.25 in a few months.

Sadly, this is just the beginning, and even Goldman Sachs is now admitting that “the inflation overshoot will likely get worse”

In a recent analyst note to clients, Goldman Sachs economists warned that pandemic-induced disruptions in the global supply chain – which have caused congestion in ports and warehouses nationwide – could last longer than expected as surging demand struggles to keep up, meaning that inflation metrics will remain “quite high for much of next year.”

“It is now clear that this process will take longer than initially expected, and the inflation overshoot will likely get worse before it gets better,” they wrote.

The optimists at Goldman Sachs believe that things will eventually improve, but that is because they still have faith that the gurus at the Federal Reserve can magically make everything better somehow.

But the Fed only has two “solutions” to any crisis.

They can cut interest rates, but they have already been pushed all the way to the floor.

They can also pump more money into the system, and they have been doing this for years.  But now all of that money pumping has created a raging inflation nightmare, and they don’t know how to put the fire out.

They could try to get inflation under control by raising rates, but that would severely hurt the economy at a time when we are plunging into a fresh crisis because of Omicron.

So now the Fed finds itself in a very tough spot, and Nouriel Roubini is warning that this could lead to big trouble in 2022

As long as central banks were in unconventional policy mode, the party could keep going. But the asset and credit bubbles may deflate in 2022 when policy normalization starts. Moreover, inflation, slower growth, and geopolitical and systemic risks could create the conditions for a market correction in 2022. Come what may, investors are likely to remain on the edge of their seats for most of the year.

There will be no easy way out for the Federal Reserve this time.

When push comes to shove, Fed officials will always resort to printing more money, and that is going to set the stage for the sort of economic scenarios that I have described in my books.

It looked like 2022 was going to be really bad even before Omicron came along, and now the outlook for next year is downright horrifying.

Fear is poison for any economic system, and the level of fear in this country just continues to rise with each passing day.

30 Day Prepper Challenge: How To Become More Resilient In Just 30 Days

30 Day Prepper ChallengeAre you looking for more information about The 30 Day Prepper Challenge? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

The 30 Day Prepper Challenge is a program developed, created, and built by Jack.

Ok, great, but who’s Jack?

The Man Behind The 30 Day Prepper Challenge – Jack

I’m Jack. The co-founder of SkilledSurvival.com & TheResilientLife.com. These are two large and popular websites in the survival and preparedness space.

And over the years, I’ve helped millions of people who have visited these sites.

I’ve been sharing my preparedness strategies, tips, tricks, gear reviews, etc., since 2013. And I’ve been preparing (and living what I call “A Resilient Life) my entire life.

Farm-Raised

You see, I was raised on a small farm in rural Iowa. And farming in the ’80s and ’90s was miserable and challenging. Money was always tight; no guaranteed paycheck, no health insurance, no pension.

A poor crop year or loss of cattle meant no money.

Some years, we’d work as hard as we could to scratch out just enough to survive.

Every day, I’d rise early to take care of morning chores and often worked until sundown. Every family member was expected to pull their weight, starting at a very young age.

I was given responsibilities none of my “in-town” friends had. For example:

  • I was driving a tractor at age 8 and I was feeding cattle by myself at age 10.
  • I’d stay up late unloading wagon loads of corn into the corn crib until 1 in the morning, even on school nights.
  • My Dad occasionally kept me out of school during planting season. Because it was essential to our survival to get the seed in the ground before the next rainstorm.

Struggling to make-ends-meet was a way of life for me growing up. And finding ways to DIY to save a buck was drilled into my soul.

These challenging years taught me how to live a resilient life. They taught me how to make ends meet with limited resources. They showed me how important stockpiles are because you never know what the future holds.

And with that background, I decided to create a product to help ANYONE live a more resilient life FAST.

That’s what The 30 Day Prepper Challenge is all about.

What’s In The 30 Day Prepper Challenge

Many folks what to know what’s in The 30 Day Prepper Challenge, and that’s a fair ask. So let’s go over what’s in The 30 Day Prepper Challenge.

I started building The 30 Day Prepper Challenge by looking at ALL the information on SkilledSurvival.com. But quickly realized the amount of info is OVERWHELMING! So, I started organizing and prioritizing and boiled the most critical prepping steps into 15 core tasks (or challenges).

Just 15 Steps ANYONE can accomplish in 30 days.

These 15 Challenges focus on the areas of preparedness that provide MAXIMUM impact.

That way, you’ll quickly move you away from what I call “The Fragile Masses”. And move towards a new way of living called “The Resilient Life.”

The 30 Day Prepper Challenge is rooted in core preparedness ideas. Ideas such as stockpiling essentials, for example:

Several challenges also focus on acquiring essential tools and gear. The devices necessary to help overcome whatever the future holds, such as:

And some Challenges focus on areas of self-improve and prepper knowledge, such as:

  • Medical
  • Self Defense
  • Home Defense

The two main goals of The 30 Day Prepper Challenge are:

  1. To give you a clear path towards increased resiliency
  2. To keep you motivated along the way

Yes, it’s a kick in the butt for most folks, especially those under the spell of our modern, luxury-first world. But isn’t that the point of a good Challenge?

To wake you up from your slumber and take some meaningful action.

4 Best 30 Day Prepper Challenge Features

Now that you have a better sense of The 30 Day Prepper Challenge, let’s cover some key features.

1. All Challenges Are Delivered Directly To Your Email Inbox (NO passwords necessary!)

The 30 Day Prepper Challenge will come directly to your email inbox.

It’s important because, that way, you can avoid trying to remember ANOTHER password. I know I don’t need anymore, that’s for sure!

Six numbers, four letters, three symbols… Enough already!

2. Each Challenge Has Two Levels (Basic Or Advanced)

Within The 30 Day Prepper Challenge, there are two levels to pick from (Basic / Advanced). That way, you choose the one which is right for YOU.

So no matter where you’re at on YOUR journey, the Challenges are meaningful.

There is a Basic Challenge (for those new to prepping). And an Advanced Challenge (to push anyone ready for the next level).

3. Most Challenges Include A “Budget Friendly Suggestion”

I know times are tough. That’s why I’ve added a bonus section within each challenge. This section I call, “Budget Friendly Suggestions.”

Because I realize not everyone has lots of money to just buy all the supplies necessary. Sometimes, we must get creative and prepare with minimal financial resources.

If you’re in this camp, you’ll be pleasantly surprised how much you CAN do with very few dollars.

4. Rock-Solid, No-Questions-Asked 60 Day Money-Back-Guarantee

We back The 30 Day Prepper Challenge by a rock-solid, no-questions-asked 60 Day-Money-Back-Guarantee!

So you “could” go through the entire 30 Day Prepper Challenge, then wait 30 days, and if you don’t feel it was worth it, you get a full refund!

But The 30 Day Prepper Challenge is so good that’s yet to happen.

Now, if you ask for a refund, I may ask why (after I’ve submitted the refund).

And you won’t be obligated to answer, but I’m always trying to improve my products. So if you choose to respond, you’ll be helping me make The 30 Day Prepper Challenge even better in the future.

A Prepper’s Mindset – Comfort Vs. Challenge

I want to take a minute to discuss the stark contrast been a prepper’s mindset vs the fragile masses else’s mindset. You see, modern life is chock full of extreme luxuries. I’m talking about:

  • Weekly massages
  • Day spas
  • 5-star restaurants
  • Chauffeurs
  • First-class travel
  • Auto-pilot vehicles

Nowadays, extreme convenience and luxury seem to be modern society’s number 1 goal. Everything seems to be trending to a life of ease and comfort.

And while on the surface, these comforts seem “better” – few are asking, “Are we HAPPIER because of them”?

I admit I also enjoy a few modern luxuries and amenities. But I also try to keep them at a reasonable level. Because I think constant comfort is a poor choice to make your life’s mission.

Humans do not thrive if left in these “soft” conditions permanently.

Extreme comfort and luxury do not make us better humans. I’d argue, they tend to make us complete A-holes, entirely detached from reality.

Constant pampering creates obnoxious, ungrateful nobs who expect everything to be easy. They believe the world is here to cater to them.

This makes them very fragile mentally, emotionally, and often physically as well. Why? Because constant comfort allows our minds, bodies, and spirits to atrophy.

If you stop exercising your mind, body, and soul, will become weak.

We Need To Overcome Challenges To Be Happy

Instead, for humans to thrive, we need challenges. We need to push ourselves to keep our minds, bodies, and souls ready and sharp.

To be happy, we need some trials. Some strategic difficulties wake us up. Tasks inspire and drive us to achieve something bigger than ourselves.

And I believe The 30 Day Prepper Challenge is the perfect solution.

It’s a program that will kick-start your life. To get up off the couch and do something challenging AND meaningful.

Once you complete The 30 Day Prepper Challenge, you’ll be far more resilient to the future.

You see, I believe extreme complacency is a modern disease. People just don’t understand how fragile the world really is.

Sure, there are times of general calm and peace throughout the world. But those times are rare. If history teaches us anything, it’s that good times WILL end, and hard times are the rule.

And I’m talking about fragility on a worldwide scale (famines, droughts, floods, wars, riots, etc.)

But what about being fragile on an individual level?

What About Personal Tragedies?

What happens if you lose your job? Do you have some stockpiles and provisions to help see you through a personal tragedy?

What happens if you lose your home? Or someone in your family gets deathly ill? Do you have some resources and knowledge to weather these types of storms?

The 30 Day Prepper Challenge can help soften the blow of:

  • Global tragedies
  • Local emergencies
  • AND personal hardships

That’s why I have difficulty understanding why anyone would choose to live a fragile life. To assume handouts will always be available. To assume subsidies are endless.

I feel FEAR and DISCOMFORT relying on the Government or kindness of strangers. To me, THAT’s what living a FRAGILE life is all about, and it’s like playing a dangerous game of musical chairs.

Sure, when times are good, and the music is playing, you can have your cake and eat it too. But as soon as the music stops, you’ll be left without a chair; scared, alone, naked, and begging for help.

What Would Our Ancestors Think?

I think our Great-Great-Great Grandparents would be confused and embarrassed by modern sensibilities. Why? Because they didn’t have modern-day grid systems to support them.

They understood the value of hard work and self-reliance. Heck, our ancestors didn’t know any different.

I can promise you most of them would never trust our modern-day grid systems like we do today.

  • They wouldn’t assume the grocery stores would always be open and full of goods.
  • They’d never assume electricity and heat would always be available.
  • They wouldn’t assume water would always flow from their taps.

But they would see these modern “systems” as dangerous to our self-reliance. Why? Because year by year, little by little, these systems create complacency.

And complacency is a real threat for any society; be it a country, a county, a city, a town, or a family unit.

Complacency kills.

I genuinely wish EVERYONE around the world would embrace more discomfort and self-reliance. Because if the world did, there would be less panic, less fear, less anxiety.

And when tragedy strikes, folks would take comfort in their supplies and knowledge. They’d feel confident and ready to ride out most emergency events.

They’d know in their heart; they’ve done everything they could to protect themselves. They’d also be ready to bounce back fast from such tragedies.

We Are Terrible At Predictions, and That’s Why You Should Prepare

You can’t predict what the future holds.

We “think” we can, but our track record as a society is horrendous. Most worldwide tragedies were a complete surprise as they unfolded to most folks. Only after the event do we use hindsight bias to convince ourselves we “knew it was coming”

But it’s just foolishness.

No one can accurately predict the future. But we CAN safely assume the future will be full of surprises. Some good, many bad.

And when you assume the future holds emergencies and chaos, you’re more motivated to choose a life resilient to them.

Can’t Predict The Future But CAN Measure Your Resiliency!

Because, while you CAN’T predict the future, you CAN measure how fragile (or resilient) you are to it.

  • You CAN measure right now, today, how much food, water, ammo, and medical supplies you have.
  • Indeed, You SHOULD take stock of how much medicinal, self-defense, and DIY knowledge you have.
  • Yes, You CAN measure which tools and gear you have at the ready, and which ones you still need.

And after you measure your resiliency, where do you land? How does that make you feel?

  • Do you feel exposed and uncomfortable? Do you feel like a fraud?
  • Or do you feel at peace? Do you feel confident? Do you feel relaxed and satisfied?

Because that’s the primary test.

By taking stock of your current resiliency, you’ll realize how exposed or ready you are. You’ll feel either anxiety or peace deep down in your soul.

And if you feel exposed, if you feel anxious about the future, well, that’s your soul telling you something.

You should listen.

It’s telling you, it’s beyond time to get your STUFF together and take some meaningful action today.

And the best way I know how to start the journey from “Fragile Masses” to “The Resilient Few” is with my 30 Day Prepper Challenge.

“Bidenflation” Is Systematically Destroying The Middle Class

Americans have more money in their pockets than they ever have before.  That sounds like really great news, but it isn’t, because the cost of living is rising much faster than our incomes are.  In addition, much of the “new wealth” that has been created over the past couple of years has ended up in the hands of the very wealthy, and this has caused the gap between the rich and the poor to grow even wider.  As for the middle class, it is being systematically hollowed out by “Bidenflation”, and that process is only going to accelerate during the early stages of 2022.

Personally, I don’t like to use the term “Bidenflation” too much, because it is not entirely accurate.  Without a doubt, the Biden administration has taken actions over and over again that have made the inflation crisis even worse.  But it isn’t as if Joe Biden and his minions are the only ones responsible for this mess.

The creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913 started us down the road that we are on today.  Of course we could have exited this path at any time if U.S. voters had sent politicians to Washington that were committed to abolishing the Federal Reserve, but they didn’t do that.

In 1971, we reached “the beginning of the end” when President Nixon took the U.S. off the gold standard.  Today, the value of the U.S. dollar is only a very small fraction of what it was back then.

The U.S. national debt hit a trillion dollars in the early 1980s, and it will hit the 30 trillion dollar mark in 2022.  Our politicians have literally been committing national financial suicide, and both major parties are to blame.

In 2009, the Federal Reserve took the destruction of our currency to an entirely new level when they introduced “quantitative easing”.  It was supposed to just be a “temporary measure”, but of course the Fed just kept doing it.

Over the past couple of years the Federal Reserve has pumped more fresh money into our financial system than ever before, and this has greatly pleased investors.

But it is also turning our currency into a joke.

Earlier today, I read an email from a reader that was quite alarmed that many new car dealers are now charging $5,000 to $10,000 above the sticker price for many of their vehicles.

Of course the reason why they are able to get such prices is because we are now in a hyperinflationary environment.

Used vehicle prices have been rising very aggressively as well.  In fact, Jim Bianco says that they have been going up even faster than Bitcoin

Used auto prices are rising faster than bitcoin and other assets, according to market researcher Jim Bianco.

“If you want to know what the best investment you probably had in 2021, it’s that car sitting in your driveway or in that garage,” the Bianco Research President told CNBC’s “Trading Nation” on Thursday. “It is appreciating faster than the stock market and lately faster than some cryptocurrencies.”

Isn’t that nuts?

Over the past four months alone, the price of used vehicles has increased more than 20 percent

“In the last four months, they’ve gone up in price more than 20%. Not only is that more than the S&P, but over the last four months that’s more than bitcoin itself,” he said. “As of December 15, the latest set of data we’ve got, they’re just accelerating higher and higher right now. There’s no peak at least as of now.”

Home prices are going absolutely haywire as well.

In fact, CNN is reporting that at the end of the third quarter U.S. home prices were up almost 20 percent compared to the same time in 2020…

Homeowners saw average home prices skyrocket nearly 20% through the third quarter compared to a year ago, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency. It was the largest annual home price increase in the history of the agency’s House Price Index. And, in some hot markets, the price increase was double that.

If your income hasn’t also gone up 20 percent over the past year, that means that you are falling behind.

Once upon a time, you could get a huge mansion for $500,000.

Today, half a million dollars will get you a 700 square foot shack.

And Zillow is projecting that home prices will soar even higher in 2022

Over the next 12 months, Zillow foresees U.S. home prices rising 11% overall. While that would mark a slowdown from the 19.5% jump over the most recently measured 12-month window (between September 2020 and September 2021), the predicted price increase would still be a housing market that strongly favors sellers. For perspective, Fortune calculates the average rate of home price growth per year has been 4.6% since 1980.

The amount of money in our pockets is not what matters.

Just look at Venezuela.  Almost everyone in Venezuela is a “millionaire”, but almost everyone in the entire country is living in poverty because the money is virtually worthless.

And we are headed down the exact same path.

The standard of living for the vast majority of Americans is eroding a little bit more with each passing day, but for the moment those at the very top of the economic food chain are doing great.  In fact, they are buying more champagne than ever before

Champagne sales are surging to record highs as 2021 comes to an end (back above what they were before the COVID pandemic hampered sales and kept people away from celebrations).

Sales in 2021 are expected to top 5.5 billion euros ($6.2 billion), above a previous peak of 5 billion euros two years agobefore the coronavirus pandemic, Jean-Marie Barillere, president of champagne industry group UMC, said.

I hope that they are enjoying these moments, because their laughter will turn to mourning soon enough.

For years and years, people like me have been warning what would happen if we kept systematically destroying our currency.

But our leaders in Washington just kept doing it anyway.

Now a time of reckoning is upon us, and it is going to be so incredibly painful.

A Snowy Second Chance [PODCAST]

A Snowy Second Chance

This show is all about near-death experiences, and the lessons we hope to learn from those who made it Out Alive. Each of the stories we tell is incredible in its own right, but now and again we hear a tale of someone who seemed to survive something approaching miraculous, and we can’t help but marvel at their luck in the direst of circumstances. And it seems like these are the experiences that are so transformative that you wonder if they were actually in the wrong place at the right time. While it’s not a universal phenomenon for all survivors by any stretch, there are those who come so close to death, that the experience acts like a level reset, a wake-up call.

It’s illogical, but also painfully relatable that for some of us, it’s only when we come face to face with dying that we remember what it’s really like to live.

The Criminalization of Preppers in Turkey: Will Our Country Be Next?

This article was originally published Aden Tate at The Organic Prepper

History has shown us that collectivism detests the individual. The man who can exist independent of the system, who thinks for himself, who is not easily swayed, and who has values rooted in absolute truth which he refuses to give up – this is the enemy of collectivism.

But if we take a closer look at one aspect of the individual – his ability to exist independent of the system – is it not clear this is an end goal of prepping?

Is that not what a prepper strives for – the ability to exist independent of the world around them so that disaster does not affect them in the way that it affects others?

It is, and this is why collectivism criminalizes preppers over and over again.

We’ve seen it before and we’re seeing it right now, most notably in Turkey.

Turkey is cooked, and we all know it.

For those who keep a fairly accurate pulse of world events, you know that the fiat currency of Turkey – the lira – is collapsing.

As of this year the lira has lost approximately 40% of its value, and from all appearances, it shows no signs of stopping its downward spiral anytime soon.

Inflation is rapidly leading to hyperinflation within Turkey and the Turkish citizens have recognized this. People began attempting to step away from the lira and delving into cryptocurrency in an attempt to protect themselves.

And then the Turkish government made crypto illegal as a form of payment on April 30, 2021. This was done to prevent “irreparable damage.” What’s ironic about this is that the Turks said this was because cryptocurrencies were “neither subject to any regulation and supervision mechanisms nor a central regulatory authority.” [source]

That’s a fun train of logic from the people that are in the process of destroying their own currency.

Crypto – long argued to be the libertarian response to centralized currency – is kind of scary to delve into if landing in a Turkish prison happens to those caught with it. And attempting to dump their personal lira savings into US dollars, euros, or any other fiat currency is practically impossible for Turks as well. Their hands are tied. What then is the natural response?

Your country is being rocked by hyperinflation. Your fiat money is worthless. Forex is regulated to the point of being impossible. Crypto is banned. The price of food has shot up 27.1%.

What do you do?

You don’t want to just watch your life savings be vaporized. You aren’t going to watch your family starve.

And so, you may think it’s a wise idea to put your money into something that will retain its value. This is the reason people invest in gold and silver after all, isn’t it? This is the reason James Wesley Rawles pushes guns, tools, and gear for investment, right?

And that’s exactly what people in Turkey started to do.

Then the criminalization of Turkish preppers began.

People there have started turning to tangibles. They saw what was coming – how things were taking a turn for the worse – and so they attempted to prepare for it.

Then, the ironically named Justice and Development Party (AKP) submitted a bill to the Turkish Parliament asking for fines of anywhere between what would be $7000 – $144,000 USD for those “hoarding….food and other goods”.

That was Step 1 in the criminalization of preppers.

Step 2 took place this past week as 51 various Turks were arrested by police for “panic hoarding” new cars. Turkish media widely reported people were investing in new vehicles as a means of inflation protection.

But this was deemed to be a threat.

These 51 individuals were accused of “lowering dealership inventories,” which allegedly led to higher prices. The AKP fiddling around with their centralized banking system most certainly couldn’t be the cause. It must be the citizens’ fault that inflation is rocking the country.

And so, anybody who attempts to protect themselves from totalitarians must be stopped.

The criminalization of preppers coincides with inflation and war.

Look at what we’ve witnessed in Venezuela – yet another collectivist society that has been rocked by hyperinflation. It was there, after communist policies caused a 20% shortage of basic goods, that Attorney General Luisa Ortega Diaz called for prosecutors to target those who were “hoarders” of staples of daily life.

In other words, if you had a supply of rice stowed away in your basement, you were no longer safe. Now, you were a target.

We’ve seen this vilification even within the United States.

Consider that it was in early 2020 that the mainstream media criticized those they deemed to be “hoarders” in unison. Have too many cans of soup in your cart? According to the media, you are now worthy of public shame.

It was during this same time that we saw a Brooklyn man have his home raided by agents who confiscated his supply of N95 masks for “hoarding” them. Keep in mind he had purchased all of these masks. They were not stolen. They were legally his possessions.

“Something needs to be done about those people!” is what the TV indoctrinated were being led to say, in the hopes that public support could be used to “justify” whatever policies were going to come down the road in the near future.

Despite public opinion, building up our personal stockpiles is exactly what we need to be doing. And now, before it’s too late. Check out this FREE quickstart guide to help you create your own food supply quickly and affordably.

What are we going to see next?

Is Turkey the canary in the coal mine? Is what is happening there – massive inflation bordering on hyperinflation (all caused by government policy), nobody producing anything, massive shortages of goods, and the criminalization of preppers to the point of outlawing any degree of independence from politicians whatsoever – simply the first case of this noxious policy?

Within the US we’re already seeing widespread shortages of goods. We’re already seeing massive inflation to the point that this is the highest level of it the US has ever seen.

Does the complete criminalization of preppers within America come next?
